Amazing. Why buy Sharp to leave him on the bench week-in, week-out? I can understand it when it's because of Lee's excellent form, but when he isn't available and we're playing a RM'er up front, something doesn't make sense.

Funny, coming from a Nolan FC fan. (Said in jest because both comments are as stupid as each other)

It may be an obvious view of things, but it's am honest, clear and well written article.

I wondered what sort of monumental ***** would feel the need to dig up such an old thread. Should have guessed. Football is about opinions. Footballers get better with age, experience and training. Put those things together and you're pretty much sure to work out why bumping this thread is pathetic.

Corrected your spelling mistake.

I honestly don't mind what it is, but I want to see us do something. He is quite possibly the most important man in the clubs history - certainly recent history - so he deserves recognition in some form. I think I'd prefer something very public and obvious like a statue, but I'd be happy with anything, it's the sentiment that counts.

Pointing them towards Jobsite?

Us promoted as Champions, Reading second and automatically promoted, Leeds up via Playoffs, WHU remain in the NPC and live to regret their spending and wage commitments of late. All it needs is Portsmouth to survive yet get relegated and I think that's the perfect end to a season
-
And equally, WHU will be more concerend going into this weekend. Their confidence already seems lower than usual, plus the pressure seems to be getting to them, so throwing them into a pumped-up, energised and confident Leeds is exactly what we need!

In 10 games time, Lambert is as much of a PL striker as Forecast is a PL 'keeper. Being in the squad doesn't mean you're suddenly worth the same as players doing it week in, week out in that league. When Lambert starts playing in the PL, which I'm confident he will and confident he will settle into as well as he has done the NPC, his value will rise. But a 30-year-old striker in his first PL season will not be worth as much as a younger striker with more PL experience. In any case though, he isn't going anywhere

Barnsley's assistant manager post match comments

Again though, you have to agree with him, as if it wasn't for KD they could have scored that many. We were poor. -

Very true indeed. Possession football and setting our own tempo seems easily confused with being poor and not at the races. -
I'd prefer a Leeds win too. I don't see Leeds as a threat, but 'Borough could arguably be a problem with a good run. Leeds winning keeps them both just out of reach.

Exactly why we should be looking at somebody like him. We have Martin as cover for Fonte on the right-side of CB, but neither Martin or Fonte are comfortable on the left-side of CB. Bringing in a younger CB who has clearly shown ability and potential seems a wise move, especially if the cost to us is minimal and he provides cover we don't have at the moment.

NA on the Saints OS say's Fox is training at the moment and is in contention for Saturday.

It would also fit in with our old-boys coaching recruitment policy, would love to see it happen.

Ahead of his time, the Lowe fella (a joke, for the less intelligent). Getting your name known in China is a worthwhile investment at the moment. Sadly, like many things Lowe started, it seems to have generated f-all benefit.
-
I'm not sure about specific names, but a RB and LB would be a must, a CB for cover and a midfield boss too. I think Rickie, Sharp, Lee and Guly will do a job up front.

They made a big deal of it on the website. There will be a two week exclusive period for fans who have been to Ipswich and Barnsley, then it will go to general sale afterwards. They haven't hid it, they have promoted it.

I think that attitude is critical to success. Not just having one captain on the pitch, but many, all of whom are happy to shout, direct, lead, encourage, praise, support and push their teammates as it's needed. I think we have plenty of people in the squad capable of this, so who the armband goes to isn't as important.
-
Morgan did OK with corners last night, Adam can take them too if needed, so set pieces aren't a huge concern for me. It's defensively I worry with Harding in at LB.
-
Both teams look pretty crap, but Whams defence looks stronger and Cardiff don't have an answer to that, even though they have done most of the attacking so far in the second half.

We're all on the gravy boat!
