How about... "However bad it gets, at least we're not Portsmouth"
-
The 'business decision' is the most telling part. That suggests he has been told something by the powers that be at SFC, which suggests he cannot move elsewhere (be that on loan or permanently). Perhaps Saints see the investment in him as something they cannot write off? Or they received an offer that made no business sense? 'Business decision' suggests that if the right offer comes in they won't stand in his way, but that offer hasn't come in yet. Whatever it is, it seems the football part is fairly clear - he won't be playing for SFC.

If true, welcome back. It will be a good signing on a free, probably one of the best free signings available at the moment for a newly promoted team looking for a bit of quality and Prem-experience.

I really don't disagree that we need another keeper, but this makes it sound like you've forgotten all the points KD saved us last season! KD was our best player on the pitch more than a few times, certainly enough to prove he is a quality keeper and nothing like you're making out. You don't get a place in the Team of the Year if you're as bad this post makes out (beating Green to the place, it should be remembered). We do need another keeper, KD is at the later stages of his career and has, IMO, one possibly two years of competitive top-flight (Prem or Champ) football in him. We need somebody to push him, to become a part of the team and build the all-important relationships he needs.

Summer 2012 HCDAJFU Thread - Premier League Special Edition

You're just talking gibberish now... while you're words may have some truth in them, you've missed the point and are just waffling now. His CV says he is a goalkeeper. He is a goalkeeper. He's just a **** one who stands no chance of playing competitive football at a high level. Saints won't be sacking him because of a lie on a CV they accepted years ago. They could buy him out of his contract, but he could just say no thanks and would be entitled to do so. -
If that's the case, we have Sharp to fulfil that role. Sharp is an excellent poacher as well as having other qualities, so it's not an area we're lacking. Instead, we should concentrate on actually getting the ball into the box in the first place, as well as keeping it out of our own box! Quality wingers with pace and an improved defensive lineup would be a better investment, IMO.

Could it not be both? Perhaps the new manager has improved the spirit
-
No. Definitely not. I would rather us fight for everything we can and lose, than accept a low position in advance. But in reality I expect us to finish at the higher end of the bottom half, somewhere 12th-16th perhaps.

Because loaning out good players to your rivals is never a clever idea. But L1 football is still competitive enough and of a good enough quality (at the top, especially) to aid his development. Plus finances might have played a part and you never know, lower NPC clubs might have been interested but Antonio wanted to go to Sheff Weds and compete for the title.

My best wishes to Ben and his family. A cracking gesture from both Danny and Adam, true Saints for sure. Simply writing a message would have made Ben's day I'm sure - as it would most Saints fans - but to go out of their way is just brilliant. Huge respect.

Surely this is just a deliberate attempt to draw attention to the Twitter account, to increase followers?

Don't see the problem, if you couldn't be bothered to get in quick and get a ticket, but somebody else did, that's your problem. 32k people managed it who seem to have wanted it more than those who didn't get a ticket. Obvious exceptions are those who can't attend, but those who moan about plastics taking 'their' seat, as if it's some divine right, are very strange. If you did get a ticket, what does it matter who else did? A ticket sold is better than an empty seat.

That comment about NA has been made many times, even by Solent in their matchday coverage, saying they really would love to bring us more interesting and insightful interviews, but it's simply not possible. I don't care, he does it for a reason and it works. As for NC's relationships with the press, I think a lot has been learnt here with the 'South Coast Club' saga.

Liverpool at home, please. Would be an awesome introduction to the Premier League for Adkins and Lambert, plus a big name team to challenge us from the off.

A bit of a brave one... but how about SWP? He and Lallana would be fun! -
I wonder also if it was a first sign of self-doubt. The ever-confident and positive Adkins possibly, just possibly, realising he now has a heck of a challenge ahead of him as a Premiership manager.
-
He has been excellent for us, certainly achieving his aim of helping us get promoted! Just as pleasing is the genius move of holding him back until he was ready though, something that baffled many at the time. Despite spending a big chunk of cash on him and despite his form at Doncaster, NA didn't introduce him fully until he was ready. Brave, but paid off.

I think it's only fair to turn the compliments around on them. Their sense of humour and good nature was obvious yesterday, singing all the way through the game despite being at the end of a long and disappointing season. I wish them well, I wish SISU out and I hope we see them at St.Marys again soon. Good fans!

That's one of the best possible thoughts in the world, ever.

I bet on KUMB they have the same thread but about us, listing this thread as all-six reasons.

I really hope Saints do something to reward the longer-term ST holders. Even just a price-freeze for those who have held L1 and NPC ST's would be a nice gesture of thanks for the ongoing support.
