  1. My f'ing stream died just when we scored. Gutted.
  2. Is it wrong that I laughed out loud when I read that?
  3. Very good article. It's refreshing to see some proper journalism, from somebody who has clearly researched, understood and witnessed us play. You can immediately see the difference between reporting based on knowledge and re-hashing made-up stories from Internet forums. Thanks for the link
  4. It takes one hell of a tosser to start a 'look at me' thread like this. There are no words to describe how much of an arrogant, up themselves, egotistical, dickhead you must be to them bump it two years later for yet more 'look at me' attention... these words don't even come close.
  5. Will he alone be praised for our successes so far and in the future?
  6. I hope anybody asking this question is prepared to support the people who would lose their jobs upon relegation. I liked last season too, because we were achieving success in the one thing every team sets out to achieve - promotion. We got that, why would we want anything other than to consolidate and build on that?
  7. Seems simple to me. I added a word in before you quoted me though - consistently. One-off games being a sell-out has been the norm for a while, but the norm is having empty seats. I don't see why we would need more.
  8. The time to expand the stadium is when the current capacity is consistently limiting our potential income. Until that is the case, adding more empty seats alongside the existing empty seats isn't going to achieve anything.
  9. I'm sure it is about fitness and awareness. I'd like to think we signed him as he is a better CB than Jos, but Jos knows the way we play, knows the team and is a safer choice. Sometimes a lesser-player with a good relationship (playing wise, not personally) with the team is a safer bet than a better player coming into the team for the first time.
  10. If you're going to get involved in this sort of thing, that's your call, but at least have the bottle to stand by your opinion and decision, rather than change your mind and remove your video when people start calling you out. It's either harmless, entertaining, adding to the atmosphere and nothing to get upset over, therefore no reason to remove the video, or it's pathetic, chav-like behaviour and something to be ashamed of.
  11. Sad news. RIP Kevin.
  12. Time to get the popcorn out methinks
  13. Sums it up well for me. It's funny really, as just a few weeks ago my opinion was different and I thought we needed more, but I'm quite confident we have enough to survive and avoid needing to enter the crazy January market with its over-inflated prices.
  14. Ex-Players should be welcomed into the club with open arms. They should go about it in the right way though, rather than getting themselves into a members-only area and complaining afterwards. I'd hope that if Jim Steele or any other ex-Saint wanted to visit, maybe even do a bit of networking and meet some fans, the club would welcome them in and find a place for them. You can't blame the steward for doing their job - members only is pretty clear. Why the Echo feel the need to report this tiny story is odd, but then that's why I don't and won't ever buy the Echo, I wouldn't miss it if it were gone.
  15. What an odd post. Playing our two most solid and dominant midfielders together - as we have most of the season - doesn't mean the other eight outfield players are going to let Man Utd do whatever they wish. Cork and Morgan are both excellent at breaking up play and linking up with our forwards. If we can keep control in the middle, we can not only stop their attacks but stand a chance of creating our own. If we lose the battle in the middle by being lightweight, we are in a weaker position.
  16. What has that got to do with customer service? That's PR at most.
  17. That seemed to be Adkins login in dropping Lambert for the Man City game - let Guly run and run all game, bring on Ricke later on. I think we're fitter now though, plus wiser, but by all accounts MP wants to play a pressing, high-tempo game and really go at the opposition, so it'll be interesting to see how we cope. Against Utd, the difference IMO was bringing Scholes on, rather than our subs. Scholes gave Utd exactly what they were missing all game, he bossed things from midfield when we were knackered.
  18. Agreed. Far too little protection for the defenders from players it simply doesn't come natural to. Morgan and Cork together have worked tirelessly across the midfield to close down and break down attacks, it would be foolish to break this up IMO... especially since Man Utd are weakest in the middle of the park. If we can control them there we stand a chance.
  19. "Go on, say it one more time, tell me you miss Nigel..." Or, "The beatings will continue until morale improves"
  20. What if we don't get relegated?
  21. We should definitely go back to red and white stripes. I hate this current red strip, with it's stupid white stripes on it.
  22. They only come out of the woodwork after something has happened.
  23. Rather this than the days of a boardroom full of self-interested tossers fighting over every single decision.
  24. There are very few excusable reasons for booing a player, IMO. If somebody is picked for the team, plays to the best of their ability - however great or otherwise that may be - they deserve support. If they aren't very good, they don't deserve to be boo'd as they didn't pick themselves. Guly is a decent, unspectacular squad player. He puts in a good shift, works hard, runs endlessly, sometimes makes things happen, sometimes doesn't. Like any player, he makes mistakes, he does things wrong, but most level-headed people can see than even when he makes a mistake, he chases and hustles to make up for it. You can't ask for more.
  25. This. While we're still moving forward and achieving greater success I'll be Pro-NC on balance, since he is at the helm and delivering these results. That doesn't mean he isn't beyond criticism nor will he automatically be defended if there is any doubt. Perhaps I'm a simpleton, but I judge people on what they do, as they do it, based on their reasons for doing it. I don't see the need to put myself firmly in a Pro or Anti camp. As it stands we're in a better position than we have been in many, many years.
