  1. Yup, just 'selected offers' throughout the season now.
  2. Just above the BUY banner there is a tiny link to click for renewals. It's simple from there, but not immediately obvious. Renewed mine this morning.
  3. Same team and setup as today. Burnley need to win games so they'll play (I hope) rather than stock 10 men behind the ball.

    Ward prowse

Can't be easy to improve and settle into a team you rarely start in and don't get much game time for. But... he'd get more starts and game time if he impressed enough in training to keep somebody else out, then performed well enough when he does play. I think there are some games that really suit him and others that don't. He performs best when he has plenty of time to think, plan and pick a pass. He struggles when he's hustled and hurried, which is a big problem in this league.
  5. Being pragmatic about things, Spurs and Liverpool are who we're really battling with for 5th place, as it'll be Arsenal and Utd in 3rd and 4th. Utd beating Spurs keeps us ahead of them.
  6. Agree entirely with this.
  7. Sad but true. And even sadder is FFP is what makes this the case. Man City have proven that with unlimited spending and no rules to worry about, you can rise from the lower leagues to Champions League. I can't ever see that happening again while FFP remains. KL's money could continue to be invested in development facilities, maybe even the stadium itself, which will benefit us in the long run. It also provides a secure financial footing. I'd also hope that should she decide to sell up one day, she won't let the club go on the cheap. That should in turn mean we don't end up with 'cheap' owners.
  8. There was only one negative for me last night - our lack of shooting. We created many chances, we defended well, we dominated most areas of the pitch, we passed well, we just got to their final third and nobody wanted to shoot. We even had the ball a yard away from goal at one point and still refused to shoot, instead choosing the usual option of passing it. Even when crosses went into the box (which they did, often) we choose to control it and pass it rather than get a head or leg onto it. Granted, WHam had 8 or 9 players in the box at any given moment, but it was still frustratingly poor.
  9. The problem we'll face in trying to sign a replacement to Morgan - and the very reason we'll lose him in the first place - is he's the sort of player all the top-10 are looking for, except City and Chelski. It's what Arsenal and Utd are crying out for, for instance. If there was a player able to replace him, I'm sure they would have already been linked to one of these clubs and we'll have a fight on our hands. So IMO, right now, focusing on the development of our existing options is a better bet just in case we can't find a replacement. We MUST also keep Wanyama; losing Morgan will hurt, but we'll survive. Losing both would be a disaster.
  10. Nonsense. Sitting along the sides you hear it all very nicely thankyouverymuch. As for the darts, maybe being inside helps the 'atmosphere'. Or, perhaps you just prefer going to the darts and enjoy it more, which is fine. Ticket prices don't seem to be a problem, given the sell out today. But, if your logic is correct, Sunday will prove it. Being £10 a ticket I'm sure those working class men you enjoy will be there creating atmosphere. Cheaper ticket prices = better atmosphere, right?
  11. Yup, for some spells it was quiet enough to hear that. But on a damp, cold afternoon when the game was a bit flat, it was to be expected. Soon after everything lifted, the crowd got going and there were more stadium-wide songs than usual today. All started by the Northam as always, but it's great when it goes round the stands.
  12. He does all that... but what I like most is if he doesn't win a challenge, or makes a mistake, he tries and makes up for it, he doesn't stop. And when he does win the ball he doesn't try and be too clever with it, he moves it on quickly. His positioning is also very good, he immediately gets back into a good position ready to go again. With Morgan out, there were time early in this game where we were desperately missing somebody like him or Reed. Somebody to hurry and hustle Arsenal and somebody to link up play simply and efficiently, making themselves available for the pass. If he carries on like this and gets more game time, I'll be a lot less concerned when Morgan inevitably (IMO) moves on next summer.
  13. If Gaston was setting Hull alight with his brilliance I'd probably agree. Since he isn't and when he does play, hardly looks good enough for them, I really don't see how he'd help us.

    Mane

True story. But that's the story of Mane... a bit of positive, let down by a lot of negative. I'm disappointed in him so far. Touches of brilliance in a headless chicken.
  15. I'd keep him if the deal was right, but Gardos must be wondering what he has to do to get a game if Yoshida is coming off the bench ahead of him.
  16. I think the midfield is going to be key here, so I agree, play Morgan, Cork and Wanyama and keep control of it.
  17. Here's my take on this... We need another goal scorer. Pelle will get injured / suspended / hit a poor run of form at some point and he's our main out-and-out striker. We need another. JRod scored a decent amount of goals last season and while there's no guarantee he'll do it again, there is no guarantee he won't. He may come back and be every bit as good as he was, then get better. But we have proven recently that however good a player is, if they don't want to be here we can get a good sum of money for them and replace with equal or greater quality, getting a player who WANTS to play for us in the process. If JRod doesn't want to be here and wants to leave so much he's willing to go to an unstable place like Spurs, who's managers will always be a few games away from the sack, then our focus should be on getting the best deal. In the meantime, we're hardly struggling.
  18. I think Lambert was signed because for £4m and probably not crazy-high wages, he's good value for money as an option from the bench and maybe even a coaching position in the future. I don't think Lambert would have started many games for us this season (I said the same at the end of last season), but as an option off the bench to change things, hold up play and generally give a different approach if needed, he would be great to have around. Same applies to Liverpool. You could see that when he came on against us, he changed things for them and pulled our defenders out of position. As for Lallana, he needs to learn how to play at Liverpool and with his new team before he'll look any good. 101 step-overs and then losing possession won't achieve much, but I question whether his ego will let him do anything else.
  19. I'm not so convinced... Yoshida looked far from assured, got booked, was being given a very hard time by Bony and could barely contain him or their other forwards. JWP did little of note, a bit of a passenger for most of the game. We got lucky with the red card as they were giving our defence a hard time. We also got lucky that some poor finishing and missed chances didn't cost us anything. That said, you can only play the team in front of you and we did that very well. We got through the first half and then made the most of the 1-man advantage in the second, which isn't as easy as it sounds sometimes. We did exactly what we had to do, kept a clean sheet, got the win and all is good. The sign of a good team is dragging out results in scrappy, difficult games and we did that.
  20. Definitely a Saints legend, who you can't help but wish well and think fondly of. Good luck Jos and thanks for everything!
  21. For me it's: ---------------Forster---------------- Clyne-Fonte-Alderweireld-Bertrand --------Morgan---Wanyama--------- Tadic---------------------------Mane ------------Long--------------------- ---------------Pelle------------------ Maybe Morgan just ahead of Wanyama, plus Tadic and Mane switching sides during the game, but something like that.
  22. We don't actually have that many players you'd really want to get rid of though, if you exclude as-yet-unproven academy players. Jos, Mayuka and Gazza are the three I can think of and even those aren't the worst to have hanging around. Boruc is almost certainly gone, but you need a buyer before you can sell someone! Academy players who aren't yet ready may benefit from a loan away, but even that's not desperate since they'll be around arguably better players and training facilities if they stay.
  23. It's a TV channel, so hopefully the next programme is the game we care about.
  24. No fee here either, just the price difference between the seats to pay in my case.
  25. I hope you're right about our position at the end of the window. With Boruc, IMO it is the clubs fault. If the club had told Boruc and Forster that they are here to compete and the keeper in the best form will get the nod, we'd have two decent GK's to choose from. Publicly telling the world Forster is No.1 and has replaced Boruc was only ever going to end this way. Even if it was guaranteed that Forest would be No.1, it did nothing but harm to make such comments publicly. Also Gallagher, as much as I'd love to say otherwise, didn't show he was up to it last season. His effort cannot be faulted, but his quality and end product wasn't there.
