  1. I'm sure you'll get some more specific recommendations but this will give you a starting point. Just give them a call to make sure they are open & show all the games. If it's a 3pm UK (10am ET) game then you prob won't get the sound on Saints v WBA/WHU but they will have it on one of the screens somewhere in the pub. Better than nothing. http://www.soccerbars.com/modules/soccerbars/by_country.php?country_selected=USA
  2. Please not again. Still haven't really recovered from seeing that fat annoying scouse twt in a Saints shirt. Remember him so called playing for us at an field?
  3. Any Saints fans in Boscastle (or up near there) at all?
  4. If Koeman does become manager then I wouldn't be surprised to see Aron Johannsson turn up at SFC sometime. Good goal scorer. Could do a lot worse.
  5. Nice one!
  6. Was thinking the same thing. Anything less than 8th is a step backwards for the next one. Keep these 18 monthers coming along... Wonder if this Tottenham fan is happy:
  7. Apparently Pochettino is regularly on the blower to Diego Maradona. 66/1 is well worth a couple of quid. Tell ya one thing - that would put Saints on the world wide map in a league that is increasingly becoming world wide when it comes to TV money, merchandise sales etc... Stranger things have happened.
  8. Interesting reading this (and other threads) from when Pochettino was appointed. Can't wait to see the response when Bruce Arena is appointed. Can we put bets on who first says 'what the hell do yanks know about football?'. Personally I think it could work out rather well.
  9. This (good post) - but with the 'salary talks' bit added. Say he's on 3 million (? - no idea) at Saints. Some club gives him a bit of paper with 'sign here for 20 million guaranteed over 4 years' then it gives him a tough decision. The chance to play for a so-called bigger club prob ain't an issue. Can't see him going to somewhere like Man Utd for a small percentage pay raise when he appears to be totally happy at a successful, stable club that is playing great football - good enough for him to already have an England cap. See what happens. This summer will be a good test for the powers-that-be at Saints. How ambitious are they? We'll soon find out.
  10. For those saying 'it is fine' then what if 200 of the little shts turn up in Man Utd shirts later in the season. Should they all be allowed in the home end? Thin edge of the wedge. No (obvious) away fans allowed. Regardless of age.
  11. Same here but... USA is a big place. Can I baggsie a triangle of Chicago, Indy & St Louis. Chicago is most realistic. See you there.
  12. If Saints win the Prem they become big in the USA. Until then.... The Green Bay Packers & the Pittsburgh Steelers are like the Lpool & Man Utd of the NFL. Great fans in the cities of the teams - but tons of latchers who should be rounded up and shot.
  13. If only they'd invent a hat that included a sun shield on it...
  14. There's currently 3 people in 'Southampton' now (me & 2 other ex-pats). All first timers. Like I said it's she same as the Prem one in that once you set up a team you can enter multiple leagues. Here is a link with lots of auto-joins to other leagues: http://www.mlssoccer.com/news/article/2014/02/24/head-head-classic-join-top-leagues-today-and-promote-your-own-earn-free-priz Liked your bit above about the MLS. Enjoy the season.
  15. I struggle to get into the MLS cos I don't have a team I can go and see (easily). At least this year I have a hatred of all things Seattle so I'm 'anyone but them'. Plus I've got a fantasy team. Anyone else got one? (it's very similar to the official Prem one if you play that). Did a bit of research & joined a few leagues - it should help be care a bit more - we'll see. I created a league called 'Southampton'. So far it's only me in it. If someone else joins it - would this mean we just play each other every week? If it is and you win it then the beers are on me one night. Anyway - the blurb is as below: >>> Joining the league couldn't be easier. Simply use this link and you'll be added automatically after you've entered the game: http://fantasy.mlssoccer.com/my-leagues/239/join/?autojoin-code=1316-239. You shouldn't need the league code, but just in case here it is: 1316-239. >>>

    World Cup Squad

I'll just be happy to see Lallana there and starting a game. A Southampton one-club player. Bring it on. The rest of them? It'll be the usual 'names' from Lpool/Man Utd etc. ROOOONEEEEEEE (in some Peter Drury annoying twtty voice - man, that bloke needs to be shot - worst commentator ever) and GERRRRRRADDDDDDD will be going even if they are injured. Any other Saints? I think it's a bit hopeful. Can't see it happening. One will do though. Good luck Adam.
  17. This x100. If Lambert puts that sitter under the bar (that was easier than putting it over) we'd have had at least a draw. No way were Sunderland gonna have another one-off screamer into the top corner after that. Plus AL just before Lambert - could def have hit the target but didn't. I'm still totally gutted - but angry at MP? No - thought he made the subs at the right time and we created the chances to score. But didn't... #### Note: #### If Man City win the League Cup and we have a proper chance of a UEFA Cup place cos of league position - and MP plays a 'strange' team when we need to win - then he's a ****. He ain't a **** cos the Sunderland result though. ####
  18. They can't parachute down because of all the cables that are attached to tower from the ground. Would be very hard to avoid them.
  19. All 8 games from the 5th round are on live on US TV: Sat: 7:30AM Sunderland v Southampton - FoxSports2 10:00AM Sheff Wed v Charlton - FoxSoccerPlus 10:00AM Cardiff v Wigan - FoxSports2 12:00PM Man City v Chelsea - FoxSports2 Sun: 9:00AM Everton v Swansea - FoxSports1 10:00AM Sheff Utd v Nottingham Forest - FoxSoccerPlus 11:00AM Arsenal v Liverpool - FoxSports2 Mon: 2.45PM Brighton vs Hull - FoxSoccerPlus Can't get any better than that! Here's to doing Sland tomorrow and onto the quarters. Big game.
  20. As painful as that game was at least it never looked like Denver could win. ie be 20 points up in the 4th quarter and Seattle get 3 TD's. The last one from a hail mary with 5 seconds on the clock that gets a very dodge PI call. Lose by a point after looking certain to win. They are the *real* painful defeats. At 15-0 just before HT Denver were in FG range. I thought at least get a FG here and go in 12 points down, surely the 2nd half can't be as bad. What happens? Ball is intercepted for a pick 6. 22-0. First play after HT - TD return. 29-0. Game over. The strange is - I reckon if the game was played again next weekend Denver could well win it. Everything that could go wrong did yesterday. Was freakily bad.
  21. Who's watching the SB tonight then? As a DEN fan I'm bricking it a bit but think that DEN will win easily. Bookies have DEN as a 2 point fav - can see them winning by way more than that. I just don't think SEA can match DEN for putting points on the board. DEN to score 40+. SEA to score nowhere near that. Away from all the 'stoner bowl' gags the facts do 100% say: if your State legalizes cannabis your NFL team will get to the Superbowl.
  22. Mullered Arsenal as well. Got a draw. Play the same against Sland again and we'll get what we deserve. Bring on the quarters. Good luck to Sland v Newc.

    Chris Nicholl

Great pic. Preferred The Dell with the Choccy Boxes but this still looks good. As for Chris Nicholl. Just after he signed for Saints (as a player) I was autograph hunting (Dell car park - players used to go there before training during the week). For some reason he was just hanging around the car park on his own. Got talking and he asked me the name of the ends and where the singers went etc. So Chris - I was that kid who first told you of the Milton and the Archers. I bet he remembers it as clearly as I do...
  24. I find MOTD (UK or USA version) a bit redundant now. On a normal Sat I'll have watched 3 live games. That leaves 4 or 5 other games. The goals/highlights/drama from these games are shown during the HT/FT coverage of the live games. I'll have taped the Saints game so can re-watch any good bits in that at any time. Don't need to wait til MOTD. Chuck in youTubes and gawd knows what else that is made pretty much instantly available and you are at saturation point nowadays. As an aside. Are there any other so-called 'soccer bars' in Vegas apart from the Crown and Anchor? I assume that one is still going strong and is still open for the early Sat games at 4.45am PT? I need to move to Vegas, get a job with funny hours, finish work at 4am and head there on a Sat morning. Would be a great way to start a weekend.
  25. Good site. Not listed there (or any other ones). Won't stop the inevitable fake promises of some sites listing it as showing it on a stream. For me Saints fans started to expect a stream for every game after that game v Rochdale in League One was on a (great) stream. Remember that? Think it was an international break week so somewhere in the world showed our game on TV. We lost but it was great as an ex-pat to see a game coming live from SMS. Definitely spoiled over here with NBC coverage of the Prem. To be honest as long as Saints stay up for the next 3 years (length of current NBC deal) then I'm happy. SWH after that. A lot of things can (and will) change during this time. Wasn't that long ago that making mobile phone calls was pretty far-out-man. Now people complain if their HD stream of the live Saints game buffers for 5 seconds on their phone...
