and sweet it was... Football IS a funny ol' game though ain't it? I thought we way more deserved the 3 points for the game v Man Utd at St Marys but lost. Yesterday - not so dominating but won. Like the whole 'they didn't have a shot on target' thing from yesterday. No they didn't - but they had a couple of pretty good chances when they SHOULD HAVE been on target (and probably scored from). For the game at St Marys they pretty much created jack but scored twice... Is it still early days? Have we had any injuries? Have we beaten anyone good yet?

Just a quick FYI for anyone in the USA. It's just been announced that the Ipswich v Saints FA Cup replay is live on FoxSports2 (618 on Directv). (2.55pm ET. Weds Jan 14) Thought they may have gone with the Spurs game but nope - we're on. Nice one. Enjoy.
-
Definitely (well - like you say - that was always the way to do it anyway). I knew an Ipswich STH from Southampton who did it this way. Coming back I think it was Stratford you'd get off at - and then the Jubilee straight thru to Waterloo. You can go to the ticket office at Southampton and ask for a 'network card return to Manningtree' and a 'day return Manningtree to Ipswich' at the same time. No pre-booking required and you ain't tied to a certain train. For all those going then enjoy.

Soon know if he's a starter or not. The Fire are in the opening game of the 2015 MLS season. Away to LA Galaxy on Friday 6 March 10pm ET (3am UK time). Set those alarm clocks boys 'n' girls. Are there any MLS games live on TV in England? If not - there soon will be when the MLS drops its salary cap...

NBC knocked up a short promo video on their Facebook page: Nothing that amazing about that but normally I'd expect to see the comments dominated by Man Utd fans - not this time - there's just as many Saints' fans on there. I guess it's been linked/shared elsewhere? Still looks good seeing all the 'come on you Saints' on it though. Feeling good about this one. 3-1 to Saints.

I've seen this trailed a few times but can't work out if it is a one-off program - or a series. Anyone know? The first showing on Thurs clashes with the first semi-final of the college football so it won't be picking up any casual USA sports fans - but the repeat showings (plus if it is a series?) may do. Whatever. Great to see Saints getting decent hype in the USA this season. Just hope NBC are happy with their ratings - they've been the absolute dogs' since they took over Prem coverage.
-
Says it all. As Graham Taylor once said 'I don't mind losing but I hate losing sh#t'. I just hope the team keeps the faith. Play like that every week and we'd win way more than we lose. Come Jan 11 when we next play Man Utd. Who's higher in the league? Us or them? My money is on us. Revenge will be sweet.

Drury is by far the most annoying, patronizing, tongue-up-the-a## of the 'big team' commentator ever. Makes a game pretty much un-listenable to. Does he still do ITV commentaries? He now does some worldwide feed ones so have to suffer him sometimes. Not surprised at all that he loved Saints losing.

Score first against the top sides and we'll win the league. If our rumoured transfer targets arrive in January then never mind top 6. Top 4. Nailed.
-
Saints to score at least 3. Them - not so many. An easy 3 points.
-
Agree totally. I'm sick of hearing about 'Saints are screwed if their best players get injured'. While this is potentially true it is the same for any team. It's part of the game. It gets magnified when you are doing well. Aguero is an obvious one for Man City. Who would you like out of Chelsea's team? Tough one. I actually think Terry would be a bigger loss to them than someone like Costa, Fabregas or Hazard. Anyway - getting way ahead of things here. Gotta beat Villa first and foremost.
-
Do you remember Murphy's Mob? What was the team called in that?
-
Who?????? leaves Saints? Ain't he some famous Walsall fan? In 2014 are fans meant to post lots of drama on the Internet cos some office boy has left the club. Bye Paul. I'm sure you're good at your job. Tuck up Spurs for double your salary. Fair play. If you don't go then man - you're the best. I'm getting your name on the back of my shirt.
-
(very) long shot. Anyone going to Broncos @ Rams on Sunday? Any Saints fans in St Louis? Fancy a pre-game beer - even if you ain't going to the game?

The Official History Of The Saints - Made by Meridian Films 1990
Rut replied to yellow&blue's topic in The Saints
Me neither. Thanks yellow&blue. Some goals/games I don't think I've seen before. -
That's actually 3 bobbleheads. L-R: Joey Votto (Cincinnati Reds) Captain Sensible (The Damned) Joey Sh*thead (DOA) You did ask... Don't think Saints FC have any? I have those Le Tiss Saints & England non-bobblehead type ones as well but they are smaller so you can't see them. Next pic of the TV will have to be adjusted. Top 6. Nailed.

Ok that is pushing it but the Saints game is on the main NBC Sports channel today. The Man Utd game is pushed out to one of the extra channels. With every disrespect to Leicester - they ain't the reason our game has been elevated. This is actually quite a big deal. We've been getting hype over here lately but to be shown over the mighty, much-loved Man Utd? It's getting serious now....

US Saints - Leicester game TV channel?
Rut replied to LVSaint's topic in Overseas Saints / Supporters Groups
I prefer it on Extra Time. The pre-match build up is 10 mins of the crowd and the team in the tunnel etc - with NO ADVERTS! It's great. You get so many great, clear shots of the crowd. One day I know I will see someone I know stood there talking to the bloke next to him. In the USA we are now so spoiled that we are 'moaning' about what TV channel the Saints' game is live on! Bliss ain't it. LV - nothing booked yet. Will let you know. I know you rarely go there (and take it for granted) but to have a 24 hour pub a couple of miles from where you live (ok that is good enough on it's own) but it also shows all the Prem games live. So jealous. Seriously, I'd really love to live in Vegas. Anyone else in Vegas? Do you ever bother going to the Crown 'n' Anchor for any games? -

I'd be amazed if Saints are on NBCSports (220 on Directv). I'll reckon we'll be on one of the Extra Time channels. Why? Cos Man Utd also play at 3pm UK time. I know we're getting hyped at the mo but to put Saints v Leicester on over Man Utd v Palace? That would be quite a big deal actually. We'll see... LV - you're gonna have to set your alarm and get up at 7am to check you are recording the right game! Then go back to bed no doubt... I may be back in Vegas next in April - have to sort out watching another game somewhere. Hopefully it won't be another 4.45am one! -
Thanks. Bet you can't wait to bump this if we were to drop to 7th (we won't).
-
Thought this after 3 games. Still think it after 10. Or is it still 'early days'. If we were 2nd bottom this board would currently be full of 1000's of 'we're going down like I knew we would' posts. Top 6. Rust-proof nails. Guaranteed.
-
Nice one LV! At least it wasn't the summer one so you'd have missed the first half. This sucks doesn't it. It's not on TV. It's outrageous I tell ya! Our team looks good tonight. Bring it on.

For those who think can/will finish higher than 8th this season
Rut replied to Rasiak-9-'s topic in The Saints
Our replacements are probably better in some cases. Who replaces (the injury prone) Aguero for Man City? Do you think Dzeko or Jovetic are anywhere near his level? Course they ain't. Key injuries have the potential to screw up any team. Not just Saints. -

Why worry about 'what if xxSaints Playerxx gets injured'? That is the same for any club. Why go about 'we haven't played anyone good yet'. Ask Man City how easy 'away to West Ham' & 'home to Stoke' are. We are right up there because we are mopping up points from those type of games. Plus somehow I don't think 'away to Southampton' is currently seen as an easy 3 points for ANY team in this league. It ain't. Enjoy it people. We are actually pretty good ya know.
