  1. Wow! A couple of people I actually agree with on this thread. It's heavy odds-on that once you say 'f**** the lot of them - I ain't voting for none of the lying bas****s' you always get someone come out with 'we live in a democracy - why don't you p*** off to a dictator led fascist country'. ie - totally missing the point! Good luck to all of you who actually believe the stuff 'your' party spouts.
  2. Tim - if you haven't already got this sorted then check your mail. Can someone post up the direct link to the youTube clip? Cheers.

    League Champions?

Agreed. 3 1st's and 2 2nd's is good going. Notts County & West Brom could still do it as well. Just think it would be ironic that the team he dissed most (Newcastle) were the ones to f**** it all up. Dog - did you actually bet on those 5? If so then good luck mate - it ain't over yet and at least you have some sort of chance of hitting all 5. Unlike the rest of us...

    League Champions?

Yeah those people sure were mugs. I guess they could (in theory) still blow it but I reckon they'll go straight back up - prob as Champions. Good thread this. My current 1 out of 4 looks quite good compared to some! ...and we wonder why bookies stay in business.
  5. Nice one - this seems the best one so far. Anyway - enjoy everyone!
  6. Top man! Let's hope it carries on working :-)
  7. For those with SaintsPlayer they have all the pre-match build up stuff on there at the moment. It's pretty good actually. I'm sure a stream will appear once the game actually starts...
  8. For those wanting to know how to get it in mp3 format then you can download it for free from here: http://theflyingalexanders.bandcamp.com/ Crank up those 'Rejects sounding riffs!
  9. The Flying Alexanders - Paint the Town. I can't stop playing this. Great band - great song. If you're down St Marys way Evening game or Saturday You'll find us all Doing the Lambert walk - Oi! A quality lyric :-) They ain't jumped on some Saints bandwagon either. If you get a chance talk to the singer about Saints. He knows his stuff.

    New York

http://www.bigapplegreeter.org/ This is a site where you can arrange to be shown around NYC by someone who actually lives there. It's free & there is no catch to it. Some friends of my wife used them a couple of years back and said it was great. They take you to places that tourists wouldn't just stumble upon. They just do it for the love of the city that they live in. Give them a call and see what the deal it is. I think they will try and sort out a tour with people with similar interests to yourself. If you do decide to give it a try then let us know how it goes. I'd def give the baseball a go - plus also basketball if there is any on. The other thing to remember is that college sport is big in America. If you can find a good college game you may enjoy that more than a professional one (plus it will be a lot cheaper). As I don't live in NYC I can't really help you with a recommendation there. I bet that would be something those greeters would be able to help you with. Another thing you may wanna try and get to is a New York Red Bulls Major League Soccer game. Schedule here: http://web.mlsnet.com/t107/schedule/2010/ Enjoy your trip.
  11. Sorry - been listening to a few too many Go-Go's albums of late
  12. Nice one 'Bones. Hope you get over to Southampton sometime soon. There's plenty of people on here who will give you advice & will meet up with you to give you a good pre-game pub tour etc. Not everyone is an attention-seeking 'person' like the original poster of this thread. Speaking of which. Thanks 'GM' for the laughs you've given the USA SFC fans web group. I expect you'll be pleased to know that you've been the center ('er' that is - we can't spell proper over here) of attention. It's not had quite as many posts as the debate on how we were all going to sort out watching the Pompey game - but not far off. You've had a good slagging (that is what you were expecting (and wanting) of course!). Through the site we've managed to offer crash places to quite a few Southampton based Saints fans who have been over on vacation. It's all worked out pretty well for a lot of people. SFC shirts being brought over (totally voluntarily but it's kinda become the thing to do now) in exchange for a roof and a few beers. Guess you wouldn't get it - no probs mate. Anyway - any ex-pats over for the Leeds, Swindon or Hartlepool games? Fancy a pint? If so - post up and we'll sort something out. Sadly I can't make the Wembley game but will be over for those. Would be good to swap experiences of how we all try and watch/listen to Saints from overseas. As an aside Saints are 13/8 to beat Leeds. A cracking price. Don't mess about with correct scores etc. Back Saints on the nose. I can't wait to walk into a bricks 'n' mortar bookie and hand cash over the counter. That is definitely something that a lot of us (USA) ex-pats do miss. Hopefully I'll be walking back to said bookie after the game to pick up a nice wad
  13. Mods: How ever much you often let certain people flout the "DO NOT deliberately start arguments. This is known as "trolling". It is usually very easy to spot, and offending threads will be locked or deleted. " rule I still ain't paying a fiver just to get an . In this case I guess it wasn't very 'easy to spot' as you've keep the thread open.
  14. Yeah - plus as mentioned above they ain't giving you any special odds. It is the same as those 'pick 1/2/3 from each section' where they flash the minimum odds up to make it look special. It ain't - you are just making it harder for yourself. The odds are the same on all the games. For all you would-be millionaires then it ain't that hard. Try this 2 quid 10 team accy for Saturday (Stan James odds - just cos I was on that site): £2.00 12/5 West Ham v Bolton - draw £6.80 13/5 Wigan v Lpool - draw £24.48 5/2 Doncaster £85.68 7/4 Palace £235.62 12/5 QPR £801.11 9/4 Weds v Leicester - draw £2,603.60 4/1 Bristol Rovers £13,018.01 3/1 Morecambe £52,072.02 2/1 Grimbsy £156,216.06 13/2 Lincoln You win £1,171,620.45!!! Sure it ain't exactly certain to happen but you get the idea. It's no more unlikely than trying to pick 6 lottery numbers. I ain't actually gonna do this bet. Please do not come in!!!!
  15. Jammy c****!!!
  16. That's interesting. With 15 teams and covering down to any 10 - exactly how many bets is that? (I can't find a perm chart which goes up to 15!). It's 66 bets to cover any 10 from 12 so it must be a lot. At a wild guess I'd almost reckon that if you only got 10 out of the 15 correct then you'd be making a very small profit - if any (depending on the odds of the 10). Nice one. That could be an interesting thread. Late goals and dodgy decisions that have WON you money. Ummmm... I can't think of any! I guess we don't remember those so much...
  17. Those and the 'scorecast' bets that have become popular in recent years. 33/1 Lambert to score 1st and Saints to win 3-1 etc. They make a huge profit on those & (like above) always get a lot of 'free' publicity if lots of people happen to back a winning one. I'm back in England for a couple of weeks soon. I can't wait to walk into a real bricks 'n' mortar bookie and pick up a coupon, a pen and analyse the pricewise chart in the Racing Post (I assume this still exists!). Tell ya - I am gonna win a small fortune whilst I'm there!!!! Maybe...
  18. Nice one - thanks.
  19. He certainly did :-) I remember they came back from a story about a statue being built for Favre. Halling said something like 'that was a bit disappointing, when they said we had a story about the 'Brett statue' I thought it was going to be about one being built for Brett Ormerod'. Whoooosh - totally over the heads of 90% of the people watching. Great stuff. I saw him at a Crewe away game once. He had a poxy Steelers jacket on (he does lose Brownie points for supporting those f******!!!) but anyway - got talking and he'd just driven up there for the day as he hadn't seen Saints there before. Top man.
  20. Luckily I couldn't get my suggested treble on as the bookie I use (I'm a bit more limited over here in the USA) hadn't priced up both Saints games. I didn't put anything on. Tories are currently 1/7 to win the election. Is this nailed on???? Well obviously it's not certain (cos you can still bet on it) but in theory this should be an easy 100 quid profit if you put 700 on. Anyone gonna actually risk it though?
  21. They ain't giving you anything special there. All they are saying is that a treble on the 3 lowest priced draws will pay at least 33/1. ie - say the shortest priced draws are all 9/4 and you put a quid on. 1.00 @ 9/4 = 3.25 3.25 @ 9/4 = 10.5625 10.5625 @ 9/4 = 34.328125 which is your 33/1 (just over actually) You could do a dog, a horse & a draw. If they are all 9/4 you will be getting 33/1 on your money. Don't be suckered in by the odds they flash up. There ain't nothing fancy about em. It's just the price that an accum pays. You don't have to do 10 homes, 3 draws, 5 aways etc to get these big prices. As for the original post. Just take the postponed game off of you accum and re-calculate it. As somebody said if a 4/5 shot is dropped then yeah you will go from 450 to 250. 250 quid on a 4/5 shot pays 450. There is no funny business going on - it's just you've lost a 4/5 shot from your bets. Think yourself lucky - that 4/5 shot could well have let you down and you'd be picking up zilch!!! Accumulator odds are just simple maths. If you find it confusing then just think of this. 10 even money's (1/1 odds) pays 1023/1. Turn a quid into a grand by just picking 10 favourites. Easy money. Or not as the case may be... 1/ 1.00 @ 1/1 = 2 2/ 2 @ 1/1 = 4 3/ 4 @ 1/1 = 8 4/ 8 @ 1/1 = 16 5/ 16 @ 1/1 = 32 6/ 32 @ 1/1 = 64 7/ 64 @ 1/1 = 128 8/ 128 @ 1/1 = 256 9/ 256 @ 1/1 = 512 10/ 512 @ 1/1 = 1024 My worst one. A quid 10 team accum. Quite a few were over even money and it paid just over 16 grand. One of them was Grimsby v Bmouth to be a draw. It was - until the last min when Paul Groves scored the winner for Grimsby. The rest came in so he cost me 16 grand and therefore is one of my most hated players/managers ever (along with Sammy Lee of course). This git even became caretaker manager at Pompey recently. No getting away from the ******!!! Good luck everyone :-)
  22. I wouldn't worry about it too much Mark. Most of the people with 1000's of posts are only on here to encourage us 'Registered Users' to fork out a fiver to be able to obtain an 'ignore list'! 3 posts a day? No probs with that. An ignore list would be really handy though - especially for the post-match threads where over 50% of the comments are from the same ol' people saying the same ol' stuff. Even 'back from game' threads are always hijacked by people who so obviously are more like 'back from the kitchen'. It's a shame but ho hum - what will be will be... Anyway - watching from afar the vibe I get from people who actually travel around the country to games is that this is one of their favourite seasons ever. I know secretly a lot would quite like us to stay in this league for next season. Assuming we keep our current owner, squad and manager then (I think) it would be a cracker. Top of the league with full houses at home and away games selling out all over the country. Assuming it did all work out well we'd head into the Championship a lot stronger than if we manage to somehow scrape into it this season. Good times ahead indead. Can't wait to see Saints back up in the Prem in the not too-distant future. Bring it on!
  23. Funny rant - and yep, I can relate to that ('cept the 70° part of the video). I'd have thought LA would be a bit different from good ol' Midwest Indiana but apparently not. Here we don't have weather forecasters - we have STORM TEAM 10. Man - do they love it when there is bad weather due. The thing that does my head in most is that when it's way below freezing they will inform us that if we go outside we will need a coat. No f**** sh****. There's polar bears on the corner huddled together to try and keep warm and they tell me that I'll need a coat.... Plus it's always 'here's YOUR temperatures' and 'you'll need THE coat' (instead of the other way round). They ain't my f**** temps - they are just THE temps. No need to talk to me like I'm a cu***!!!! This is the video of our local one: http://www.wthitv.com/dpp/weather/forecast/Forecast Depending on when you watch it you'll either get the old drunk guy, the younger really intense patronizing guy, the fit bird with a stutter or another fit bird who looks a bit like bugs bunny. Even though I may appear to be slagging it off I still watch it most nights. It is funny (as is the local news as a whole).....
  24. She's on South Today??? What happened to Georgie Palmer?
  25. Burnley 1/3 to win??? More like 5/4. Is it certain? Obviously not at that price. Is it worth a few quid? I reckon it might be and I quite fancy this little treble: Saints to beat Wycombe Saints to beat Walsall Burnley to beat P***** Pays just over 6/1. Worth a tenner of anyone's money. Now I've said it I guess I best put my money where my mouth is. Think I'll make it a score though - a nice 100+ quid profit is coming my way! Easy money :-)
