  1. City win 5-0 in a game on Sunday. City lose 5-0 in another game on Sunday. Are Saints up or down? In Swansea & Stoke 'City' does not mean Manchester City so this could get very confusing. Just cos the media does it - doesn't mean you should tongue out the Manchester clubs as well. Saints 6 Man City 0. Screw it. Get 'er done in style. Staying up without breaking a sweat.
  2. You are a genius! The Everton equalizer ultimately kept us up. If they hadn't scored we might have lost last night. If only we'd known that at the time....
  3. Oh and an advance warning (to all of us) - Peter ##### Drury is the commentator for Arsenal v Saints. By far the worst commentator ever. I look forward to 90 mins of how great Arsenal are. I'm sure Rooooneeeey will get a mention. And Liverpool. And Saints may as well not be on the pitch - even if we go 3-0 up he'll still be rabbiting on about how great Aubameyang is and what a goal it would have been if he hadn't missed that sitter earlier on. Screaming his name every time he touches the ball...
  4. It is on NBCSN (NBC Sports Network). Yep 9.15am ET. I can't personally recommend a soccer bar in Miami but give any of the Miami ones on here a call: http://www.livesoccertv.com/pubs/florida/ I'm sure they will be open for it. Helps that it's against Arsenal (https://arsenalmiami.com/) Failing that - where you are staying will have a good chance of having the channel on the TV. Enjoy. Maybe....
  5. Rugby is played by people: 1/ Not skillful enough to play football 2/ Not tough enough to play in the NFL Did you know that 96% of people who watch the England rugby union games on TV have never been to a live rugby union club game in their lives?
  6. Fans complaining about swearing in the crowd. What next? Teams complaining that their players are getting tackled? Oh wait... Anyway - Susie Dent off of Countdown isn't offended by it so that should be the end of the matter.
  7. Bad news USA based Saints fans... For the first time this season it looks like we are probably gonna have to listen to the game on Radio Solent. There is no TV or official stream for the Saints v Watford FA Cup game on Saturday. That said - there might be a snide stream around as it's meant to be on live in China. Ain't had the joys of one of those for a long time.
  8. When did non Man Utd & non Man City fans start blindly calling them 'United' & 'City'? Does my head in. Man Utd 1 Saints 3. They ain't that good. We ain't that bad.
  9. One of them used to be an Olympic pole vaulter. Pretty impressive actually.
  10. Rut

    FA Cup

So a fat bloke from Totton milks 5 mins of fame and that is degrading to the FA Cup and all it stands for? No - what degrades the FA Cup is top teams putting out reserve sides. Saints included.
  11. You still in Ohio? A few of us are heading for Zauber Brewing Company, 909 W 5th Avenue, Columbus, OH for the game. Not often you get a chance to see Saints in a major cup final so it would be good to see you there as well.
  12. The League Cup is shown on BeIn Sports in the USA. Both legs of the semi-final v Lpool were live on there. Available with most providers. 620 on Directv. Wiki page: https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/BeIN_Sports_(USA)
  13. Come on you Saints. 3-1 win tomorrow. The spirit of '76 never dies.
  14. Anyone else in Chicago for this game? Will head for the default choice of the Fado on W Grand. Not expecting it to be the main game but they'll def have it on one of the smaller screens. Any better options? Even open to watching it in a Palace bar where the game is on with sound.
  15. Well said. Play that game yesterday 10 times. Saints win 7 of them. 2 draws. 1 Hull win. Just like Man City 1 Middlesbrough 1 on Sat. Man City were even *more in control* at 1-0 than Saints were but somehow didn't manage to win it. Saints/Hull stats Poss 66/34 Shots 19/6 Shots On Target 7/2 Corners 10/1 Man City/Mboro stats Poss 71/29 Shots 25/5 Shots On Target 7/3 Corners 8/2 The best team does not always win. Always painful but no need to SACK THE BOARD! MANAGER OUT! WE NEED TO SPEND MORE MONEY! blah blah blah.
  16. Thurs 3 Nov 2016. 4pm ET. Saints v Inter is live on Fox Sports 1. For those who avoid & watch later then this is luxury compared to those 1pm ET games we had the last couple of Europa games.
  17. Fri 4 Nov 2016 FA Cup Rd 1 Eastleigh v Swindon Live on Fox Soccer Plus. 3.55pm ET. Not as good as a Saints or Totton game but I'm sure most of us have been to Eastleigh's ground before. Might get to see the M27. Exciting stuff.
  18. April 2017. Saints are mid-table. Man City need to win to clinch the title. It's easy to say 'I'd never sell my ticket' but some Man City fan has 300 quid cash waving by the turnstile for your ticket. The pub round the corner has the game on TV.... I can well see a lot of Man Utd & Liverpool fans accepting similar deals to this every week. They've earned the right to away tickets through years of loyalty (fair play) but now are all a bit sick of it and nowadays there's umpteen people from around the country/world who are willing to pay silly money for a much sought after away ticket. The internet means they haven't physically got to tout the tickets at the game. Easy money. The more that do it - the more the core away support gets diluted. The worse it is for the diehards. The more likely the diehards will cave in and take the cash... In a few years time a Liverpool v Man Utd game will be full of people who've paid 2 grand a ticket and are all sitting politely waiting for the atmosphere to start. It won't. It was sold - to you!
  19. Here is a great video of the ground done professionally from a drone. For those going then surely you need to get hold of a ball and go out in the proper, bonafide desert next to the ground for a kickabout. You don't get many chances in life to do that.
  20. Good spot. You actually going then? If so then jealous. I expect a pic of the crowd from your TV - with you circled in it - when you get back. Good luck to those on PT who have the game at 10am and plan on avoiding the score all day. 1pm is bad enough...
  21. Hapoel Be'er-Sheva v Saints is live on Fox Soccer Plus (SD - Directv 621) on Thurs 1pm. Better than nothing!
  22. Of all the muggy comments on this thread you win 'most clueless one'. Swansea were VERY lucky to get back into the game. 1-0 down. Went 2-1 up with a stupid pen and a defensive mistake. Didn't know what to do when they took the lead. Saints were unlucky to not get at least a draw. Nothing to do with Puel at all. We deserved a point. Didn't get one. That's football sometimes. I guarantee you that Saints finish above Swansea this season. Stick to finding streams to (obviously) not actually watch yourself.
  23. Chances of getting nicked down Derby Road Chances of taking a surf board to Weston Beach Chances of being sold a penthouse suite in Albion Towers Chances of getting caught in bed with Katharina Liebherr Chances of getting a round in at the Saints Pub, Millbrook
  24. Great list. There's some good ones in there that I've not heard before: "That's exactly how you head a ball... you use your head" - RAY WILKINS But yeah - they ain't annoying and if you have to speak tons on live TV then once in a while you don't quite say what you mean. Iain Dowie is on Sky now ain't he? Shame cos he was a quality co-commentator. He'd try and speak as fast as he was thinking which often ended up in total gibberish. Very, very listenable trying to decipher what the hell he was going on about though and far from annoying. It was good. Worth co-commentator? David Pleat. Just STFU for 2 seconds you annoying twt. Ain't had to suffer him lately. Hopefully never again.
  25. This x100. The 'twit' was on NBC 3 times last weekend because the normal NBC commentator (Arlo White who is fine) was doing the olympics. Drury does the worldwide feeds - usually for UK TV games. Often a country will override the worldwide feed commentator with their own. Not last weekend. Included having him on the Man Utd v Saints game. Worst commentary I have ever heard. Tongue so far up Man Utd it was embarrassing. Co-commentator reminded him that Saints only finished 3 points behind Man Utd last year and won 1-0 at Old Trafford. That didn't matter it was all about 'can "utd" (puke) bring back the glory days under "the special one" (double puke)' etc etc TIP: If you have a surround system with adjustable speaker levels then turn down the centre and front speakers. This is where the commentary comes from. You'll still get the sound of the crowd from your rear (and side for 7.1) speakers. This assumes the program is being broadcast in 5.1. They usually are nowadays. I didn't do this for Drury for the Man Utd v Saints game as I wanted to hear what he would say about Saints. Mistake. He said nothing.
