    Oslo blast

That's fair enough. Who actually made your 11,800 posts then?
  2. http://msn.foxsports.com/foxsoccerplus/tvschedule Fast forward this to Sat Aug 6th. Looks good - doesn't it? I see we get Brighton v Doncaster live before it as well. Nice one - will be good to see their new ground. Plus we get Hull v Blackpool the day before. Although not live it's not on too much of a delay. Then West Ham v Cardiff is live the day after. So 4 Championship games on the 1st weekend. We prob won't get a 3pm UK Sat Championship game when the Prem is on but it's all looking good for pretty decent coverage....
  3. If you apply that logic they will soon be showing Show Jumping & gawd knows what else as well. Anyway - as long as they show the Saints games on there then I'm happy. Less than 3 weeks to go now. Bring it on. Any USA Saints out there thinking of having a 'soccer party' for the game? I'm thinking of inviting some American friends round for it. I'm pretty sure that I could get some of them into it. It's like any sport - it really helps to watch a game with someone who is really into and really knows what is going on. As long as it was a good game (ie a Saints win) then I reckon they could definitely get a taste for it. Need to be a bit careful who you invite though. Come the game I'm sure the ref, the linesman and any amount of Leeds players will get called 'f#### c###s' a fair few times. Beer will be flowing in abundance and that tee-total, church going guy who 'watches the WC when it is on' may not be the most appropriate person to have round. We'll see...
  4. Most msg boards have a main forum - any chance you could think about linking directly to it? Plus a 'must subscribe' after any forum that forces you to subscribe (just to view it) would be handy. http://www.independentmillwall.com/ The site has been down for a while.
  5. Be logged into Google and then click the 'google calendar' button in the bottom right corner of the calendar that 23rd Saint created. It will them prompt you to add it.
  6. I'd not watched any of it until I started watching the 2nd half of today's USA v Brazil game. What a cracking game. Dodgy decisions, red card, re-taken pens, injury time equaliser & a brilliant penalty shoot-out. The most memorable thing was a piece of play-acting by some Brazilian bird. It was perhaps the worst case of 'gamesmanship' that I have ever seen. So bad it was funny.
  7. Sweet :-) I hadn't bothered checking yet. Where in the USA are you Bigshadow?
  8. http://www.saintsfc.co.uk/page/NewsDetail/0,,10280~2388402,00.html That's 3 so far. All at just after midday ET as well. No getting up at 7am. Let's just hope that they do show the Championship TV games over here next season...
  9. Good spot mate. Just checked and yep, it's definitely on there.
  10. If Chamberlain goes for less than 20 million quid Saints have been tucked up. This is 2011. You seen how much other players (not as good as Chamberlain) are going for? Keeping him at Saints will be a serious show of intent. I think we will all sigh loudly if he goes. Not just because he is good - but the next time we get another good player he will be off to some 'big team' etc etc etc... Can't blame the players but it all just sucks. Here's to a salary cap (like it will ever happen but wouldn't it be good?)....
  11. Left or right - your choice. Done by a proper surgeon. Million quid in your pocket. No catches. Yes or no?

    Peter Falk

In 'The Conspirators' (Episode 5 of Series 7) Columbo mentions Southampton twice. This episode is also quite different to a lot of the other ones. Worth a watch.
  13. Hate to say it but if this happened in the USA it would not be a major issue. A burglar crossed someone's threshold and got killed. It's the risk a burglar takes here. The law is very much on the side of the homeowner. The fact they they will have to re-live the incident for the rest of their lives seems punishment enough without charging them with a crime. Also (at least here in Indiana) if a burglar is caught (alive) and found guilty they don't muck around with fines & community service. They get sent down for pretty long stretches. 5+ years for a first offence is commonplace. No - it doesn't wipe out burglaries totally but you really do need to be extra desperate to go down that path...
  14. Biggest flop = Sammy Lee. Biggest waste of space ever to put on a Saints shirt. Bar none.

    New beer @ SMS?

Have some kiosks dedicated just for beer. Cash only. No food. Use these machines to pour it: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=aRQWZRJ92M4 3 quid a pint or 4 for a tenner. Whatever the beer is it will sell. A lot of people don't bother trying to get beer in at half time because it takes too long. Speed is more important than what is on offer.
  16. Gotta disagree with you there NY Saint. There was no USA TV coverage at all of any League One games last season apart from the play-off final. The Championship had games shown every week. I'd say that is way more than 'marginally better'! I reckon we'll get to see at least 3 Saints league games next season on USA TV. Fancy coming over to IN for a pint or 10 during one of them?
  17. T******d. Late 70's / early 80's. Untouchable and definitely the kings of the Waterside.
  18. Fox Soccer Plus (FSP) ( http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Fox_Soccer_Plus ) shows the Championship games live in the USA. It's a $15 a month subscription channel (well $15 on Directv - could vary on other providers). Last season it only had them in SD (not HD) but it's way better than trying to watch games on some stream. As you can see in the linked wiki article it also shows Prem, FA & League Cup games. Sadly it also shows f***kin rugby as well (why? It is called 'soccer plus' afterall).... Anyway - if you are living in the USA it is worth getting. Here's to a few live Saints games next season.
  19. Put them in the back of a truck. Drive to some city and start a riot. You could then sell them for 10 bob a go to the rioters. 3 for a quid. The best thing about this is after the riot has finished you can go round and pick all the bricks up. One riot a month and you'll be loaded.
  20. http://www.southamptonpublickhouse.com/Home.aspx Can you get this beer in the UK? It's called 'Southampton'. I buy it quite a lot simply because of the name. The Imperial Porter they do is 7.2% and is very easy to drink. If you can get hold of some then it's definitely worth getting a few bottles... Surely it would be the perfect gift for any P**pey fan you happen to know - I wonder if they would actually drink it?
  21. http://www.amazon.co.uk/Murder-Darts-Board-Justin-Irwin/dp/1906032041 I just read this book as well. I thought it was a good read. Pretty funny and any book that mentions Southampton a few times is fine by me. I especially enjoyed his theory that the more you drink - the better you get! If you ain't read it then I'd say it is definitely worth checking out....
  22. Oh yeah that vortex bottle makes all the difference... At least they didn't do something shocking like add more alcohol to it instead!
  23. Can't beat a few cans of Carlsberg Special Brew.
  24. Latest relegation odds from Oddschecker: Blackpool 4/11 Wigan 3/4 Bham 5/6 Wolves 8/1 Blackburn 12/1 Wolves and Blackburn are rightly quite long. 2 of the other 3 have to win for either of them to be threatened. Interesting that Goal Difference is so key here (like it was for us and Huddersfield). I always think that when you go say 3-0 up with 10 mins left that is the time to defend hard (don't let them get a soft consolation goal after 92 mins) and/or really push on for some more goals. You never know when the odd +1 or +2 may come in handy...
  25. Disagree. If fanbase ever becomes the criteria to play in the top-flight then we may as well ditch the whole idea of relegation/promotion and have a closed league. A lot of the years that Saints were in the top flight we didn't always fill our relatively small stadium and often took small away support compared to a lot of teams. Does that mean we should have been kicked out? Course not. Fair play to the Wigan fans who do go along and support their hometown football team. They only got into the league in 1978 and being a rugby town (and with Liverpool & Manchester on the doorstep) it is pretty obvious why they don't have a big support. Personally I'd much rather have a beer with one of them than some non-Yorkshire accented Leeds fan who thinks that Leeds deserve to be in the top flight. This all said I won't cry any tears if Wigan do go down - but if they get enough points to stay up then they deserve to be in the Prem. Simple as that.
