Do Network Cards still exist? I always used to get a NW Card day return to Banbury (was furthest north station in NW Card region) and at the same time get a day return Banbury to Witton (station near Villa Park). The train ticket office could sell you both these tickets on the day of the game. You could then get any train there & back that you wanted - no having to make up stories to the guard about why you are on the wrong train (man, I've heard some belters before). Also no worries about the game getting moved to another date. Can you still do this?

It's also live on TV on ESPN Deportes. I don't actually have this channel but as luck would have it I'm going to be Indianapolis and have checked with the 'soccer pub' there and they have that channel and will be showing the game. Result :-) I've never had any probs with espn3.com - always worked well when I've used it. Great quality streams.

Latheal - it is on Fox Soccer Plus at 4pm ET (6 hour delay). Here is the full list of upcoming TV games: Sat 22 Dec. Sunderland H FSP. 4pm ET (6 hour delay) Wed 26 Dec. Fulham A FSP. 6pm ET (8 hour delay) Sat 29 Dec. Stoke A FSP. 6pm ET (8 hour delay) All games are live online at http://www.foxsoccer2go.com (top quality streams - subscription required).

BTW - totally agree. Fantasy Prem sucks cos so many people have the same players in 'their' team. Do you know of any Prem fantasy leagues that do a draft style thing at the start of the season? Plus then you play someone each week and either win/draw/lose for 3/1/0 points. Would be good. Way more interesting week-to-week anyway...

ha ha - can totally relate to tales of NFL fantasy bad decisions and bad luck. I scored heavily in one game this year and ended up losing by 0.02 points. I won a few games with less points but not this one. Brutal. If the default for a QB TD is 4 points then keep it that way. I play most games on nfl.com who score like this ( http://www.nfl.com/fantasyfootball/help/nfl-scoringsettings ). It just works. Plus when watching NFL Fantasy TV shows they talk in default points. Makes it so much easier if you play with the same settings. I played one last year that gave a point-per-yard on anything. Chucks, runs, returns the lot. Was still 6 points for a TD though. So some returner runs it back to the 18 yard line. 18 points. 10 yard TD, 16 points. Basically you had to make sure that any WR (or DB - we had IDP's as well) you chose also returned kicks and punts as well. Was farcical, but quite funny. Darren Sproles kicked ass in this league! Good to see DEN do a number on BAL the other day. All turned on that pick-off at 10-0. Sweet. DEN *should* get a bye week now but (as you know) nothing is totally predictable... Been a good season so far.

Anyone else do fantasy NFL? How you done this year? I'm in the final of one league that has changed a lot of the settings and has IDP's (individual defensive players). Strange league as the IDP's get a point per yard for any sack. Means they often score more than the top QB of the week. My top player yesterday was Greg Hardy (who? exactly). Got me 38 points. Matt Ryan got me 30.80. My advice is to stick to leagues with default settings. So much better. Plus watching Fantasy Live every night has a lot more relevance. Who's up for a Saints Web one next year? LV - did warn you - the Chargers suck!

It was the indirect fault of the royal family that this woman is now dead. Who was the lawyer for Michael Jackson? Get him on the case and bring them to justice. Put it all live on TV and the world-wide ratings would be massive. I bet *you* would watch - wouldn't you? 'one pleads not guilty' and all that...

It's good this week: http://profootballmock.com/nfl-qbs-on-facebook-the-playoff-picture/ How come Sam Bradford just gets one really pervy line now though? What did he say/do to deserve this? The Fireman Ed reference is because of this: http://www.nytimes.com/2012/11/27/sports/football/fireman-ed-jets-superfan-hangs-up-his-helmet.html Praps he can become a Giants fan now? Or go back to the Dolphins?

Read some of the other ones - ie: http://profootballmock.com/nfl-qbs-on-facebook-cutler-stafford/ They seem to vary the people most weeks. Plus obviously some weeks hit the mark better than other ones. This one is short and only really has one gag in it (ie Cutler is a pssy). Still pretty good though...

http://profootballmock.com/nfl-qbs-on-facebook-week-8-halloween/ This is usually pretty funny. A mock of the QB's taking the pss out of each other after each week. This one was just after Brady had come back from England. For all of them just go to: http://profootballmock.com/category/nfl-qbs-on-facebook/ If you know who the NFL QB's are (and what some of them have been accused of in the past) then you will get the humour. It's done well.

I nearly did post that up but thought naaah - everyone will know that one! I'm taping it and watching it when I get home. Saints game following by another Saints game. The next 2 Saints games (Swansea & QPR) are both on delay. Swansea 4.5 hours on FSC. QPR 4 hours on FSP. PS The Chargers suck!

Southampton Reserves. Whoever is playing Lpool - due to stuff like someone went on about just now. Every glory supporter in the land used to be a Lpool fan. Still my most hated team because of this.

USA - NBC to get Prem games next season
Rut replied to Rut's topic in Overseas Saints / Supporters Groups
There's quite a lot of talk about the NBC deal - I think this is about as much info as you can get at the moment (ie nobody really knows for sure what is going to happen) http://epltalk.com/2012/10/28/14-things-we-know-so-far-about-nbcs-us-coverage-plans-for-the-premier-league-2013-16/ BeIN has the Championship nowadays ( http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/BeIN_Sport ) Assuming NBC shows all the live UK games then it would mainly be the Sat 3pm games that the question is over. Currently we see Saints live or on short delay. With the short delays gone then what will the deal be to be able to see any of these 3pm games? Hopefully they'll give a TV option - not just online. A subscription channel (like Fox Soccer Plus) with options to choose your game? Or PPV options? So just what Prem team will first play a real game in the USA then? Once the 'oh no that can't happen' reaction calmed down the people who do the books would probably like the idea. 'Saints' v 'Man Utd' at the 82,500 Met Life Stadium in New York? $80 a ticket and it would sell out easily. Money talks. I can see it happening in the not too distant future... -

That said - if the PPV for the games wasn't too much it could be good. We'll see. Guess Saints better stay up first up before thinking about it too much 'ey? -
http://www.nytimes.com/2012/10/29/sports/soccer/premier-league-deal-gives-nbc-380-soccer-games.html I don't like this quote: “There will be live, exclusive games, and we’re not going to tape delay any of them,” said Mark Lazarus, the chairman of the NBC Sports Group. “Multiple games go on at once, and we can’t carry every one on our networks. But we won’t regionalize games.” No delayed games? Be-ollox as an American would say...
-
Hear what you are saying DanW but I prefer watching the delay. Yes there are umpteen dodgy streams about (plus the paid for quality Fox2Go one) but it means I can be productive on a Sat morning. With no phone or internet on the go I can go down the basement and play darts instead. Then when the game starts you can do all the good sh#t like pause/rewind it. Yes - live is obviously better but even the Fox stream will sometimes knock the sound out by a couple of seconds. Now if it was paid for live TV coverage of every game then sign me up...

Broncos @ Chargers. Good 2nd half ey? Was that like being 3-0 down at HT and winning 4-3 or 4-0 down and winning 5-4? Brilliant game.

West Ham v Saints. Sat Oct 20. KO: 10am ET. Fox Soccer Plus. 2pm ET (4 hour delay). Saints v Spurs Sun Oct 28 KO 11am ET (UK Clocks go back the night before) Fox Soccer Plus. LIVE Cool that the Spurs game is being shown live. The 2nd half is up against Man Utd v Chelsea so if you are going to a bar to watch it you may want to check first if you can see the whole game.

Quick poll for the 2 people a day who read this thread: What NFL team do you support? and why? Me: Denver Broncos because my American family are all from CO. As you can sort of have 2 teams (one AFC & one NFC) - my NFC team is New Orleans Saints. Come on you Saints. Plus I like New Orleans.

That was a great game last night. The ending was brilliant. LV - I could almost handle you being a Chargers fan but please don't become a Packers (or Steelers) fan. It would be like an American living in Southampton becoming a Man Utd or Lpool fan. Not good. Totally agree. Last night the Packers got a very handy PI call on one of their drives to keep it going. That was every bit a dodgy decision as some of the ones at the end. They ain't moaning about the refs on that one though because that is what they are used to happening. This season is shaping up well. A lot of the so-called contenders haven't started well. Ignoring the hullabaloo at the end of the game last night - what about the 1st half? Seattle were all over Rodgers. It's not so easy to spray the ball around for fun when you are getting clattered and all your receivers are getting covered well. Welcome to the real world.

Blah-di-blah aside - whatever the music then fair play to them for nailing their colours to the the mast. Do they play many gigs in PO postcodes? Must result in a few 'scummerings' since that song came out.

You saw some hyped chart bands 33 years ago - one who now plays at Buckingham f#### Palace for the queen. Puts you in position to say f##k all about the band in question in this thread. #clueless

'rafa' - past me the sick bag. If he comes back to the 'EPL' will he be friends with 'fergie' or not? Puke inducing stuff.
