  1. Agreed. Best to enjoy the moment while it lasts I think. So nice to sit here on a Sunday evening with a win under our belt and even Lawro was waxing lyrical about our Rickie on MOTD. We have come a long way in a short space of time and it's nice to enjoy that and to see some of our players (Punch included) starting to enjoy the best times of their careers :-)
  2. Only pulling your leg. I guess different people do different things. I don't mind people not singing but I do hate it when they ***** and moan and get on player's backs. It was a nerve racking day yesterday until the goals started going in and I guess people react differently - some will sing and shout, others will go quiet and chew their nails. I do see your point though.
  3. Which would be unfair. He has played with commitment, scored goals and made a few assists. Can't ask for more than that really. I think it's refreshing to see a guy try to change his ways for the better so good on him for that.
  4. So do you think posting on here during the game is going to get everyone singing? Like everybody is at SMS continually refreshing SWF. "Oh look Barry reckons we should all be singing... let's get to it" Or are you just trying to be some sort of Uber Fan?
  5. All my mates laughed when I put him in my fantasy team. They ain't laughing now :-)
  6. Not sure that it is a corruption of competition. If ManU want to stump up £100k to Saints to incentivise them to beat Chelsea, Chelsea would probably do the same when we play Man U. Sounds great and quite fun actually. There could always be some regulations put in place too, such as every team is allowed an incentivisation budget of £1m to spend getting other teams to win in order to gain the highest league position they can
  7. How about if the richer clubs had to pay the slacking team with 1 of their players? That would be pretty cool
  8. Now you are going beyond the realms of possibility :-) unless you count a couple of old nags and a tinker's caravan as a payment :-)
  9. It wouldn't "ensure" anything as Swansea would still have to win. But it would make it more fun for me watching on Sky as I now know that Swansea will be trying hard :-). And even better if the other team vying for 10th place bunged a load of money to Swansea's opponents to get them to win
  10. I can actually see some merit in this though. Kind of like having the play offs keeps things more interesting for more teams longer into the season.
  11. Hitler gassing millions of Jews was abhorrent. This is merely "not really in the spirit of fair play"
  12. Oh the wonders of hindsight. When George was appointed, I thought he would be great and he didn't do too shabbily first season. If it wasn't for Leon Best's mistakes in the play off semi, we might even have gone to the prem. After that, it was all down hill. If Leon really did what you say he did, the man should be lauded as a genius :-) It's funny how alcohol doesn't seem to have had the same affect on Sir Alex - still going strong at a fairly advanced age now.
  13. Thought he was excellent against Man Utd the other week. Let's see how well he does against Villa.
  14. Same here. Can't remember. Where are MLG's stats when you need them?
  15. Admit it, you just went and looked that up on Wiki didn't you?
  16. I hope he's right too. If we play as well as we did in that 30 min spell against United last home match, we could do very well. However, Villa have improved of late and the pressure will be on our lads big time. So if I was Villa manager, I'd tell my team to hang on in there and keep it close. 0-0 or 1-0 to Saints with 15 mins left will play into Villa hands and we'll really see how well the "new boys" can handle the pressure.
  17. I think it will probably depend how well we are doing come Jan and where the obvious frailties appear to lie. I'm not even going to bother stating where they very obviously lie at the moment :-)
  18. Out of interest, which ones do you think will finish below us?
  19. TBF they looked total gash against Swansea, but I agree - 2 home wins out of two is a great start for them.
  20. Did you never see some of Roy Keane's performances for Man U when he almost single handedly won them games? Remember that Juventus game? Would you have played better under him than a captain who merely turns up for the coin toss? I think you would. In fact, he was the perfect example of having the manager's right hand man on the pitch.
  21. Makes no sense whatsoever.
  22. To be fair MLG jizzes in his pants at quite a lot of things. Absolutely correct in what you say here. NC does not have relegation back to the Champs league factored into his plans. For a start, it isn't an easy league to get out of as we found out last time we were relegated there. People seem to assume that it will be easy to bounce straight back, well it won't be. It's probably easier to stay in the Prem in many ways.
  23. Yeah Liverpool makes a lot more sense to me. Good old Arry coming to the rescue of the Scousers. Might even feel sorry for them when he starts saying things like "They just aren't good enough" and "They didn't play well". Can't wait.
  24. Bearsy writes the funniest posts on here. Always insightful and packed with subtle little jokes.
