  1. You forgot the fourth option: the Robert Green technique. Much more difficult than the other 3 and probably can only be executed by an England standard keeper.
  2. I think that it's all very well doing all this short ball out from the GK, keep possession, play through the park etc, but if you haven't got technically able players, this kind of thing will happen. All very well if you are Spain where all the outfield players are technically competent and able to retain possession of the ball, but not such a good idea if you are at the technical level of some of our players. Same goes for when England play. Whenever they start to "play the ball around" (usually sideways or backwards), it just makes you panic. I always end up shooting something like "boot it for ****'s sake before you get caught in possession"
  3. Pretty much describes my masturbatory habits
  4. Not being funny or anything, but are you really the finest that Chigwell has to offer?
  5. A mongboard?
  6. This is always the difficulty. Young players who start to prove themselves in the Prem, get relegated and then get bought by a Prem team who will benefit from their hard won experience. If we get relegated I can see Rickie going somewhere like Villa or Stoke next season too.
  7. The Adkins way Who knows what he knows The Adkins legend grows I could never lie For honour I would lie Following the Adkins way
  8. Yep that signing does look a strange one - 2x CB, 1 LB and with hindsight a domineering CM were urgently required, not another forward.
  9. They have surprised me this season I have to admit. Really wanted them to do poorly because they have such arrogant, disrespectful fans on their mongboard (but I guess then who doesn't?) Allardyce clearly knows what he is doing and no doubt they have huge confidence at the moment. Would be interesting to see what happens to them if they go on a losing run and the fans start to turn. Their fans have what they see as the "West Ham" way of playing football and I'm not sure Fat Sam would last too long there if things go a bit belly up. An away win at Newcastle can't be argued with - can't see us coming away from there with anything less than a severe drubbing.
  10. As far as the game goes today I fancy Ricky to bag a brace today. So confident, I have made him my captain in my Fantasy team :-)
  11. That is an excellent article. Very well written. Liked the other articles too. I had completely forgotten about that goal by Delap. Like the art work especially the cartoon strip of Matty. You need to write more! I'll follow your blog on Google Reader! Great work!
  12. Pretty impressive seeing as you're a dalek. FWIW I don't think the board were surprised at all. And the purpose of spending all that dough in the Summer was surely not to prepare for immediate relegation. I don't get that talk about "consolidating" in the NPC - it seems to me there are loads of ex-prem teams who have spent decades doing that.
  13. Remind me again what your prediction was for last season? 12th? I always thought that 4th bottom would be an achievement this season. I remember commenting, amongst others that we needed to get some players in with proven Prem experience. That also wasn't well received. I seem to remember MLG being one of the biggest naysayers at the time.
  14. Completely agree with this. I never quite get all the Morgan backslapping a lot of folks seem to do on here. He seems far too lightweight and certainly isn't commanding in any respect of the word. Bring back Jimmy Case please!!
  15. unfortunately that never stopped my son admiring manure :-( as far as tonight goes I thought we continued to look weak at the back and in central midfield. too easily ripped apart. on the plus side we kept plugging away, had a fair bit of possession and probably deserved a goal for our efforts. A couple of wins would do wonders for our confidence and I still think Nige deserves the chance to try and turn this round. Don't think he will get it though
  16. err yes he says exactly that in the piece you just quoted?
  17. Go ahead. judge him on 2 games why don't you.
  18. Boruc is a good goalkeeper. People should get off his back. Give him a run of games and he will show his class. ****ing whining minnies.
  19. Yeah you're right. What happened in that Scotland Wales game? I seem to remember Bale up against Fox?
  20. Nice one Badger. Wish you were out there today with that attitude :-)
  21. Hmm I'm looking at their line up and whilst it's good, it's not anywhere near as good as it could have been. No Adebayor, no Dembele. Anyone fancy us to give it to Huddlestone in the midfield today? Or Rickie to dominate their defence? Got a bit more hope than I had before. Just need Mr Fox to keep Bale quiet which if I'm honest isn't going to happen is it?
  22. Pure speculation on your part. Top man and top manager.
  23. Yeah maybe Ramirez didn't do the trick that day. But he did score our only goal. Cork is not going to be our saviour. A cog in the wheel perhaps. But he wouldn't have saved us that day as he wouldn't in any other of our beatings. He most definitely isn't the missing link.
  24. Don't think that would help. Maybe play 2 goalkeepers though...
  25. Saggy Chops will never happen in a million years. He would last 2 mins before falling out with Cortese. Wouldn't be surprised to see an Italian manager though
