  1. Fair enough same as me then
  2. I call this BS purely on the fact you are saying you have got a mate
  3. Probably a stupid question for you football geniuses: I was wondering how/what players get paid for playing for England. Reason I ask this on the Redmond thread is that I was explicitly wondering how much NR and JWP would have got just for turning up to the squad week.
  4. We only got 2 wins from playing those 3 home and away, plus lost both v cardiff. At one stage I thought the 6 pointer losses v cardiff would do for us tbh
  5. I like that a lot
  6. My biggest beef is why didn't one of Manure, Chelsk, Arsenal, City come in for him. Am I right in thinking Saints made it clear they would be happy to sell to anybody but the Scouse once they realised he was set on leaving? All those clubs are need of good CBs. Personally respect his footballing ability, but don't like him as a person. Should never be referred to as Virgil on here as if he is some friend of our club :-)
  7. We must be able to raid Celtic for a few. That's been a pretty successful ploy for us up to now.
  8. Anybody know who it is? Raving days never leave you hey
  9. Saggy Chops anyone?
  10. Will he be buying for the prem or the championship? Why do most people presume we are free from relegation worries just because we have had a couple of wins lately? Clubs down the bottom will all start to improve as the season goes on. It will be a long hard fight yet. A few injuries in key positions and we'll be right up against it.
  11. Anybody remember this? I have a complete blank - can't remember it at all. From Wikipedia: It was organised by the Football League and was intended as a form of financial and sporting compensation for the English clubs which had qualified for European competition in the previous season but had been banned from entering European tournaments by UEFA following the Heysel Stadium disaster. Ironically, it was the Dippers who ultimately won it. The six clubs invited to participate, and the European competitions they would have qualified for, were: Everton (Football League champions, European Cup) Manchester United (FA Cup winners, Cup Winners' Cup) Norwich City (League Cup winners, UEFA Cup) Liverpool (UEFA Cup) Tottenham Hotspur (UEFA Cup) Southampton (UEFA Cup) Our results were: 17 September 1985 Liverpool 2–1 Southampton 2 October 1985 Tottenham Hotspur 2–1 Southampton 22 October 1985 Southampton 1–1 Liverpool 17 December 1985 Southampton 1–3 Tottenham Hotspur Anybody remember going to any of these games?
  12. Next there will be a theory that they are sheltering on Paul Allen's yacht somewhere in the channel
  13. I heard that clip the day of the accident. First thing I thought was that the plane sounded like it was struggling.
  14. As it stands, Valery is a liability to carry into a relegation fight. He gets too many cards, too early in games. As it stands, you can never be sure he will finish a game, either because he is red carded or because he has to be subbed in order to avoid said red card (Cardiff for example). Cedric needs to stay in the absence of any other reliable alternative. The extra money we could get by selling him now is peanuts when weighed against the risk of throwing needless points away. Also, if I was oppo manager, I'd make sure to target Valery right from the get go - get him carded and force Ralph to make change.
  15. lol @ Claude's clown like interview on MOTD
  16. Amazing isn't it Batman. Vestergaard also looks a changed man under the rabbit Hutch genius.
  17. Really very impressed with this presser. Very intelligent guy who obviously has a plan.
  18. Are you actually being serious? wow
  19. This piece in the Echo suggests the fans may have actually saved Les's bacon at the end of last season "Most at the club privately thought Reed would be out of the door in the summer. Many believe that only the upbeat mood of the fans on the final day, when they chanted and sung and cheered in front of Gao Jisheng, persuaded him to back the status quo."
  20. Agree with most of that. However, one thing I think we don't appear to have addressed is lack of goals from our forwards. If you do as you always do, you get what you always got as they say. So far, I see no indication that our current set of forwards are going to suddenly turn into 15 goals a season men, which is what we are crying out for.
  21. Yes that's exactly right. Your's is just an opinion. You have no skin in the game as opposed to people charged with making decisions with their arse on the line. Very easy to criticise after the event. Did you pipe up before the signing? I doubt it.
  22. You'll be glad to know I'm not fat. I go to the gym 5 days a week and am very fit. Why the need to use the word c-u-n-t? Can't control yourself on a forum?
  23. No interest in women's football whatsoever. It's substandard in every way. Would sooner watch a local men's village team.
  24. No way on earth we will get giroud. However we should be looking for a striker with similar attributes.
