  1. Yes. Will be a great buy for them, good for the english quota as well
  2. That may be, but the article perfectly summarises our precarious position and lays out plenty of (obvious) causes for alarm, all of which have been raised on the forum many times. "Saints “must improve in a number of areas, including passing, creating chances and defending.” With so much room for improvement, it’s not a summer where dawdling can be forgiven. Inaction would be a huge failure, particularly with other clubs –Leeds for one – making promising strides so early in the transfer window."
  3. but surely the money they have used to buy crappy turkish clubs etc would be better off buying us some shit hot players
  4. I realise this thread is for last year, but did anybody just see Bairstow's knock in the test. That got me reaching for a beer!
  5. 😂 is this one of those things that MLG guy puts together?
  6. It's just sickening isn't it. I saw another guy on the comments this morning moaning about City and Haaland. He basically ws saying if it wasn't for the Scousers, there would be no competition in the PL and he really couldn't understand why fans of all the other clubs weren't fully behind Liverpool. They really are a special lot
  7. I dunno, part of me enjoyed the Fizzy pop and L1 days when we could actually compete and expect to win a few games. If staying in the prem means this dreary slog to get to 40 points every season then maybe we're better off out of it. Just a thought
  8. You do realise you are going to trigger the Le God guy by saying things like that 😃
  9. Perfect for our team - sign him up
  10. Needs to beef up that sleeve a bit I think
  11. Nice to dream, but we are currently a million miles from that
  12. Probably not but you do know how fricking rich they are right?
  13. Not that simple though is it. Every penny would need re-investing on players who will improve the first team. Look what happened with the VVD money for example!
  14. Agreed - there was a time when a club like ours got these players and sold them on later for a profit. Seems those days are gone for top talent out of the lower leagues
  15. Yeah and Ralph also said the players hadn't gone on holiday in May. Full of shit
  16. He is going to be a top player. Unfortunately I think Spurs have a very good manager now and they are on the up
  17. Whether Ralph is responsible or not, the points are valid.
  18. It's what the scousers do, not just in football. Reference to the moaning about "parking the bus" - go on RAWK any weekend and this is their biggest gripe. Klopp says it all the time. Yeah, like teams should go there, go toe to toe and get on the end of a thrashing. I can't think of any manager who would... err.. be stupid enough to do that 🙂
  19. Not sure you could call it really good business getting in an unproven keeper when we are a shambles defensively. It is trying to do the best given are seemingly crap financial situation though/
  20. Another one who made no worthwhile contribution whatsoever
  21. Agreed and 3 of them performed well below a decent PL standard to say the least
  22. Will always be a hero of mine for his fuck ups in the UCL final
  23. The rich get richer as they say. Your point about the best youth being acquired by the big clubs is increasingly more and more true - Chelsea, Man City etc. I guess that's where we see the opportunity these days, but we're not the only ones. Brighton are currently successful picking up these youth players who can't see a route through to the first team and there will increasingly be more clubs in our bracket doing it
  24. The scousers blab on about how Man City bought the league etc but they fail to mention their own wage bill which I saw quoted as bigger than Burnley, Watford, Norwich, Leeds and Brentford combined
  25. Interesting. I also looked up Shilts - he made his debut at 16 and was apparently so good that Leicester sold Gordon Banks and kept him (they did end up relegated after a season though). Fun fact - at the age of 17, Shilts even managed to score a goal...against Saints
