Saints Greatest ever XI - Goalkeeper Nominations.
EFM replied to Edmonton Saint's topic in Golden Posts
:-) Eric Martin certainly was top entertainment value but just not a very good goalkeeper. I'll go for Niemi because my memory is shot. -
Well I'm not sure why Radio Beacon (I think), "the voice of the Black Country" commentators kept repeating that we totally dominated the second half, played excellently with 10 men and deserved at least a point, being as they were a Wolves fan and an ex-Wolves player? I think it is always better to hear the opinions of those who actually attended before commenting on a performance myself but when Wolves fans say that it does add some credence to the possibility that we were actually pretty good/unlucky. They did say, in the first half, that our defence was atrocious but in the second half I think Wolves barely had a chance of note.

Tough f'ing **** you ****! In reference to an earlier rant of yours, I just about survive on Incapacity Benefit leaving me with less than £50 a week after bills. I can't watch my beloved team any more, I can't afford to even f'ing eat half the time so I'd like to know where all this money to "welfare layabouts" is going? You think people choose to live on this sort of income? **** YOU you ignorant dickhead.

August 2009! Way too late to ask for as a Christmas present. Can't wait though, should be a great read. I hope he writes it himself rather than get a "ghost writer". The chapter about Glenda should be very interesting. And suitably vitriolic I hope.

As did Elvis Presley. He was the first to start it if you ask me. From the early 70s onwards supporting both P'mouth AND SFC has been considered by most to be called "total insanity". I'm not quite sure how National Service would have stopped me hating the blue scum though?
-
Totally agree with your first point - it is so painfully obvious to everyone except JP, who I don't want to slag but really it isn't working at home Jan. As to your second point, I'm not ready to accept that yet but then I always avoid reality. Let us dream on for a while yet mate!

Thanks for that, none of us had seen the game live or on telly. Glad to see you've picked the team for Wolves too.

To all those who were subjected to a 'Section 60' at Swansea
EFM replied to Thorpe-le-Saint's topic in The Saints
Using your previous analogy Stanley ALL the grannies on the plane would have been stopped and searched in Swansea. That's how cleverly the Welsh police were "profiling" people. Colours = asking for trouble in Swansea. No colours = definately looking for trouble. No doubt all were suspected of the heinous crime of "being a football fan in a city other than your own" -
That's what Blaclpool's for Gudz :-) Glad you all had a great time and even on radio Preston it was only Saints fans you could hear most of the seond half. That long OWTS at the start of the half somehow gave me hope that you lot up there still had hope and I'm sure it drove the players on to believe. Magnificent effort by fans and players alike and drunken beggars can't be choosers pal!

Jonny Boy did apparently. I feel a bit sorry for him knowing at half time that we would stage a remarkable and unlikely comeback because whilst the rest of us were ecstatic at the turn of events he already knew it was going to happen and so didnt get to feel the full joy of it. Brilliant result after looking like a hiding in progress. The last minute Wigan winner was a sweet sweet bonus too. Congratulations to those who went up there and never stopped singing in the second half. I honestly believe they made a difference - well done folks.

If I get your gist if only it enhanced his performances I wouldn't really care much! I'd much prefer it wasn't done blatantly though, in a club in Southsea (of all places), and then allegedly had to have the video evidence "removed" by alleged theft. As for the song, it is in totally appaling taste but quite amusing. Allegedly allegedly allegedly.

Quite correct my learned Window Cleaner. I am sure you are also aware that Tuesday mornings have become the old Monday meaning that weekend hangovers are now legally allowed to extend into the second working way day of the week?
-
I just logged on to get views about last night's game but it all seems a bit irrelevant now compared to this news. I didn't know Paula but obviously a number of you on this site do and, although I know any words at the moment are not going to be of much comfort, my greatest sympathy and condolences to all who did and obviously to those close to her.

I understand Spurs was always his "spiritual home" and so he had to leave Pfc who were his "spiritual home" although West Ham was always his "spiritual home" apart from Bournemouth who were always his spiritual home. Basicially the man's a Judas cxxt who will sell his soul to the best bidder?
-
I thought most of us were commited Southern Reds? If you are suggesting that he is a Manure fan though that is a very big "allegedly" and why on earth would he put so much time and effort into his views/activities about SFC if he didn't even support Saints?
-
I hardly think he has got "burnt fingers"? Why would he? I think he is being proved right every week? Agree or disagree with the guy, he is a passionate Saints fan IMO and writes well written, considered posts which some shoot down purely because of the sender.

And a realist sees the total pants situation for what it is.

Now you're taling Arizona! I still believe that Saga is the man!

"Amazing Grace" with "CHANNON. CHANNON, CHANNON, CHANNON"

Are you mad? He's the best Saints supporter in the land. As for the skate contributors, I really have a totally irrational HATRED of their club, fans, team, manager, "stadium", city, chairman, team strip, toilet facilities and pubs but have to say that their regular posters on here are IMO tongue in cheek, quite funny and don't take the ****. Why they post on here is another unfathomable matter but, at the risk of making myself puke, I don't mind them. God I can't believe I said a nearly nice thing about skates! Just for my own sense of sanity Corp Ho and Eyes 8 I have to say **** off and die but I don't mean it.

Why exactly would people need an "excuse" not to go to games? You've lost me there. Oh and how surprising that people would return in their thousands if we were doing well! Blinding insight mate. Of course fans of other clubs always go in greater numbers when they are doing shxte don't they?
-
I would suggest that the 3-4 against Leeds was the biggest match-throwing scandal in history?
-
I think I'm right that it was Claus, Orange Bud, although my eyesight is dreadful, as that summed up to me the total lack of any understanding in our side - even from a seasoned player - what that game meant to the fans. Absolutely clueless. If a player (or ALL 11 players) can't grasp what a local derby against the blue scum means then it signalled to me the end of players having any pride in our shirt or any connection to the fans or club at all. (If we had lined up with 4 Jason Dodds, 5 Benalis and MLT at least we would have put a fight up.)

Being an eternal miserable pessimist I'm going for 9 points from those games. HOWEVER, with a rare bright spark of hope having pored over the league table ealier, Watford have got one point out of five games away and with a win over them we are theorectically (sorry, very drunken spelling?) ONE point behind behind Plymouth, for example, currently in fifth. I'm going to try a week of optimism and see what happens. As someone else said, who knows wtf to expect these days? I'm only doing this week of optimism as an experiment and I hope it's as good as I'm constantly told on here. If we beat Watford, as we should and need do, all will look so much more reassuring come Saturday evening. If we don't I will still be expecting messages of "wait until Christmas" to appear regularly. Fingers crossed folks :-)
