  1. I don't agree NickG. I, for one, was slightly although cautiously coming round to the new "kids revolution"/JP plan but when we sold Davies and Surman seemed to be on his way it all seemed to be a hollow sham and another name for selling off everyone we could and leaving us with anyone left with 2 feet to play. I think it was realistic to not expect that to work but to my very pleasant surprise things are looking a whole lot better than I imagined. And I'm as delighted as anyone else. I think you optimists somehow think that us "realists" somehow WANT the team to fail. Nothing could be further from the truth. I think most of the last 4 years we have, unfortunately been proved to be right whilst the eternal optimists will still insist against all factual evidence that everything is ok until we get relagated or just manage to stay in the CCc on the last day of the season. It doesn't stop me giving my undying, whole-hearted support for the team it's just less surprising for us when we lose :-)
  2. Oh how I am revelling in our performance and win and the total disarray and depression at Derby. I can't read enogh newspaper reports! I owe you an apology adriansfc. After selling Davies and with Surman possibly on the way I slated you for your eternal optimism. It appears I may have been completely wrong (as usual) and I hereby happily and humbly apologise.
  3. Well that may be a very very hopeful dream boggy but it's a bloody beautiful one :-)
  4. You may well be right Darren and I'm an eternal pessimist so rarely get carried away but tonight I'm ecstatic and think I may remain so for the next day or two. For all it to come right at Derby of all places is SO sweet that even miserable (realistic?) gits like you and me can just enjoy the feeling right now!
  5. Many thanks Saints67 - sorry I missed that on the OS. Still vague hopes of going and I really thought that we might sell the initial 2,000 but very disappointing if the 800 figure is right.

    Jack Cork on Loan

This sounds lile a cracked record that I've being hearing for the last few seasons. Don't make a jugement until the first quarter of the season is gone (and disappointing), don't worry til Christmas (we're not going to get promoted now), don't panic til after Easter (**** we might even go down now), COME ON GET BEHIND THE LADS (but I thought you sais judge them afyer a FEW games), if we win the last 9 games on no previous form we can still do it - like stay up. How many years are you happy to trot out this ****e Adrian and what makes you feel that this season in particualar might be the one that makes your unceasingly, untiringly, unrealistically, unncesarrily optimistic crap come true?
  7. Can anyone confirm if they are selling at the stadium on the day please? Cheers
  8. So if he hasn't paid his membership he's not a real fan like you? FFS! Even joining up as a full MEMBER to a fans' forum makes you a better fan now?
  9. I see your point Micky but why am I, as a fan (and a bloody skint one), willing to scrape together every bit of cash I have to get to Derby next Saturday while all the people Saint Billy mentioned are wealthy and supposedly Saints fans and won't put forward some cash - not for personal gain but for their alleged love of the club?
  10. Oh! I see now. The product, the relegation, the dross, the board-room farces have somehow made less people want to go and so it is all their fault? Brilliant. And there was me thinking it was something to do with poor performances, nearly going down to Division 1, selling anyone who looks half decent, shocking management at all levels but no it was the people who decided not not to go who were to blame. I think you've got the chicken and egg question very much mixed up.
  11. Like you said, when things went a bit tits up you looked at the subs and thought "who the hell can he bring on to get us back in it"? I don't think AlpineSaint's points were anything but realistic and true. Same goes for JP not knowing about the potential transfer of one of our best players. I don't see how his is "negative" thinking just genuinely worrying?
  12. FFS, "super Kev" comes here when his career is on a bit of a nosedive, Saints fans support him, stick by him and sing his name every game despite him looking like he can't hit a barn door after a rather large fee and then he comes good for a bit and leaves saying he never wanted to be here anyway. What sort of f'ing reception do you expect?! As for blaming the Northam for him scoring that is absolutely absurd. What? He wouldn't have got into that position had the crowd cheered him on? For christ's sake please don't try and sap any more of the passion, emotion, anger, elation and other irrational emotions out of the game as that's the reason some of us go. Sod your prawn sandwich
  13. Very sensible except I can't help thinking it will deter a lot of walk-ups? These would probably have made up a large proportion of the crowd at £10 but not now at £15? That bit doesn't make sense to me?
  14. Same here Spudgun. I got fed up feeling deflated at 5 p.m. nearly every Saturday and have enjoyed the break from it to be honest. But today, now it's starting again there's that tingle of excitement and expectation and hope creeping in. No idea what to expect today - could be a thrashing that deflates us all straight away or could be a win that brings a huge wave of optimism? Let's hope the latter! (Obviously it could be a draw too :-) )
  15. I thought he pretty much kept us in this division with his performance in the last game of the season. If he was good enough to start in that momentous game how come he isn't worth a place in the squad now?
  16. Do you have some idea that using mainly "kids" means we aren't allowed to play anyone with more talent who's over 25? What a strange attitude.
  17. Personally I am absolutely gutted at this news whether expected or not. He's potentially a class above anyone else we've got up front IMO.
