I reckon unless we announce another signing today that that is our summer business concluded. MoPo said he wanted them in early, so presumes he meant before the summer training, that starts next week.

Not at all. The Common European Framework for languages breaks the learning process down into 7 levels, each take around 120 hours to complete. Of course, most learners need more time at the mid levels to really master the language. In order to do a press conference in a foreign language you would need a very good level. I would imagine MP is a pretty busy guy, how much time he can dedicate to learning English who knows. But let's say it's 5 hours per week, it's going to take him about three years.

We were less offensive because MP could obviously see that we lacked the quality in defence to push players higher up the field. As has ben well documented on here, the mauling at St James' Park was when MP must have thought, "no, we can't play like this without a rehaul at the back". He's now rehauling so let's see what he can do. Lovren might have had an awful season but let's give him, and MP's ability to pick a player, a chance.

You're right, at the moment we aren't much more than perennial relegation battlers, but by all accounts the systems are in place for us to build on what we've achieved this season. I for one am quite excited to see who Pochettino brings in over the summer. Last summer's signings were made by a a manager with no previous experience in top level football - with the results being a little hit and miss. In Pochettino we have a manager that, in my opinion, could put a hell of team together.

I heard on the commentary during last week's game that we are currently third in Europe in the fair play league - I'm assuming that this excludes the teams already (or likely to) qualified. I can find the Premier table but not the UEFA one. Anyone got any info about this? Would we take it?
