Interesting that once again the opposition's goal scorer was someone who had just come on. It happened against Rotherham, too, if my memory serves me right (and it might not!). Almost as if we're not really paying attention to the changes opposition managers make. The one thing for sure is that we're not scoring enough. Parts of our play are like last year, loads of possession around the opposition box but no end product. I think we'll rue the missed opportunity to sign Piroe. Martin knew him and it seemed like we were in pole position to get him. Instead he goes to a promotion rival and has scored 8 goals for them (one every two games). A goal scorer has to be our priority in January. Mara, Stewart and Adams are not going to get us those goals we need to put teams away.

Holgate actually did well yesterday apart from getting caught in possession. Much better defensively with him at RB and KWP at LB. 'Boro were all over us at the start of the second half with Manning no where to be seen. We could have conceded 2 or 3 times in the first 10 minutes after the break, mainly due to Manning's ineffectiveness against their number 11.

In fairness Alcaraz hasn't looked up to it since RM has come in. I don't think he fits the system. A great shame as he could be brilliant in this league, but as we've seen this manager plays to his system and not to the strength of the players he has available.

I live in Marseille and their fans still can't get over the fact that we paid them money for DCC. They remind me daily that he was one of worst defenders they'd seen at OM in years. Personally I don't think he's been that bad.

Totally agree. Gave the ball away a couple of times, but to be expected considering he's still getting up to speed.
