Yeah, I'd say that's enough. Another Wilshere, looks good as a teenager but doesn't have the intelligence of a Bale/Lahm to improve his game much further. Will forever frustrate by not kicking on.

Giving Hope to those who have none
Golac's Iron Gonads replied to Bermuda Saint's topic in The Saints
Not displeasure, some of the names being bandied around before his appointment were truly depressing, I'm bloody thankful we got someone as good as him, I just don't share the OP's future hopes based on his record, which ties in with the new ambition shown by the board since the end of last season. He's probably the best we could have hoped for, but gone are the days of promising young talents. Winning a charity shield with a team he didn't build and narrowly winning the dutch league with a perennial winning team left to him by Hiddink ain't a great CV, better than McClaren's though, so if not hopeful I should be thankful at least. -

Took over the Portuguese champions and won their equivalent of the Charity Shield, at PSV he took over a team left by Hiddink that had won the title the previous 2 seasons, almost blew a 12 point lead and ended up winning it by a single goal difference. Good luck to the bloke though, but I still have little hope I'm afraid. On the plus side there are teams far worse than us, but the board spouting nonsense about pushing on is what prompts me to call them clueless, much like politicians that stand there lying to your face with no regard for you at all. -

It would have been/may still be (judging by his less than joyful countenance at scoring a brace yesterday) Schneiderlin or Cork (before Pulis walked) -

Courtesy of Wiki: AJAX: Koeman was appointed the manager of Ajax in 2001. Ajax' fortunes suffered a steady decline after Koeman got off to a successful start. BENFICA: Koeman bounced back quickly from a disappointing end to his reign at Ajax in February 2005, taking up the vacant position at Portuguese champions Benfica, Koeman only won the Portuguese Super Cup; the team finished the Portuguese League in third place (behind rivals Porto and Sporting) and was knocked out of the Portuguese Cup in the quarter-finals (after losing to Vitória de Guimarães). This, along with an offer from PSV, sufficed for the manager to leave one year before the end of his contract, PSV: . PSV dominated the first season half, putting competitors as AZ and Ajax at a reasonable distance and PSV was almost destined to become champions again. However, PSV suffered in the second half of the season, also because of injuries of players, PSV eventually who triumphed against all odds, winning at home 5–1 against Vitesse Arnhem, and thereby becoming Eredivisie champions with one goal at front of Ajax VALENCIA: starting on 5 November 2007 He was sacked on 21 April 2008. The team would slump to 15th in the league, only two points above the relegation zone, along with finishing bottom of their Champions League group. A 5–1 defeat by Athletic Bilbao would prove the final nail in Koeman's time with Valencia. AZ ALKMAAR: He was appointed manager of AZ on 18 May 2009. On 5 December 2009, AZ announced that Koeman no longer was in charge of AZ, after losing 7 of the first 16 games in the Dutch competition. FEYENOORD: On 21 July 2011, Koeman was appointed manager of Feyenoord, signing a one-year contract. At the beginning of 2012 it was announced that his contract was extended. In February 2014, Koeman announced that he would leave his position at Feyenoord at the end of the 2013-14 season to pursue other ambitions. For me it's not about having hope anymore it's more about not really giving a **** on account of having a clueless board, quality players replaced by loans (one of whom has already got out pretty sharpish) and players wholly unfamiliar with English football. Krueger, Reed and the rest of then can take our secured future and insert it up each other. I don't have a clue who we're playing after West Ham and am not that arsed by my lack of knowledge/enthusiasm, -

Done, no donation though I'm a tight arse. -
I preferred last summer.

Hamman was also telling all and sundry, in May, that Germany had no chance of winning the world cup. He's the german Pele of punditry.

I'm praying that I wake up tomorrow to find this has been a hilarious wind up. Shane effing Long?

He's always had a bit of a monkey face, but by christ does Bale look like Galen from the old Planet of the Apes TV series, and what's with the hairband, he's not got the looks (or hair) to carry it off, monkey faced British boy trying to pull of continental style is only going to end in tears, probably Ronaldo's.

I like the fact that Man U are being linked with 2 other left backs as well (Daley Blind and Ricardo Rodriguez) both of whom would keep him on the bench and consequently getting fatter.

Didn't sign a new contract and then gave a verbal agreement with Ipswich to join them, but switched to Villa at the last minute. I liked him as a Saints player, and though understandable he would go for the better wages, I believe you should stick to your word if you've agreed to join another team.

Not the last straw, I'll always support Saints, haven't been a season ticket holder since the mid 80s, but like the last few years of Lowe's reign I shan't be giving this regime any of my money. I'm actually finding it hard to work up any enthusiasm for football in general, largely on account of the richer teams not only buying our best players but generally hoovering up most of the talent and then sticking it out on loan. I'm so disillusioned that for the first time since 1995 I don't think I'm going to even bother doing a fantasy team, the world will no doubt weep at its loss.

He won't be competing with Gerrard and Henderson they play completely different positions. He'll be alternating/competing with Coutihno, Can, Markovic, Origi and Sterling for 2 places. I suppose he'll be hoping he can play in the big games but that's a lot of competition and he could end up just playing in the games against the likes of Sunderland, Palace and Leicester. Even though he's no longer a Saint I will follow his progress as I hope it goes belly up, might dissuade any other academy players from following him out the door and realising where their bread is buttered.
-
I've been thinking the same thing. they already had Sterling and Coutihno, now they've added Origi and are also after Markovic, young Adam, not being blessed with pace is going to have to be tip top to keep his place, if he ever gets it.

I reserve my judgement until I see what colour shorts we're wearing with it. Though I can't think of a colour that would work.

Banner for Opening Game at Anfield
Golac's Iron Gonads replied to JackanorySFC's topic in The Saints
I'd like to see a black banner with white text that reads 'Fans For Sale: Offers' maybe the club crest on it as well -
It's England, any WIFI service is going to be 'kin awful, run by Boingo and will probably cost you a fiver for 20 minutes. I don't know how Hong Kong and Seoul airports, among others, manage to provide unlimited high speed WIFI completely free for everyone.

Le tiss in action tonight on soccer aid
Golac's Iron Gonads replied to Dazza82's topic in The Saints
Looking at the size of him, I reckon he won't be on until the 80th minute. On another note, Ramsay is finished. Oh le Tiss comes on! -
Biggest laugh I've had in the last 2 weeks, cheers for the link.
-
Pochettino is a wang kur, is a wang kur and sacked in the morning/winter/spring, will suffice for me.
-
Le Tiss has a pretty poor game but still comes away with a hat-trick and the winning assist. Good ol' Tiss.
