Saints V Man United - Post Match Reactions
Golac's Iron Gonads replied to St Chalet's topic in The Saints
great effort, sadly the center of defence looked a weakness and so it proved, far to much space for Lingaard's and the ego's winner. It's pretty obvious we've solved our goal scoring problem, hope we solve the center back problem in the summer, could have a decent season next year. -

suppose it's too much to ask for a Yoshida winner but I'd bloody love it, come on the football gods work some magic -
sweepstake for the time of our first shot on target? 39 minutes I reckon
-
looked like 3 men in the box, chance for a cross, ends up a Yoshida back pass to the keeper, a phrase that usually fills me with fear

Home banker. Where once we had Fonte and Van Dijk we have Yoshida and Stephens. Where once we had Wanyama and Schneiderlin we have Ward Prowse and Romeu Where once we had Pelle and Mane we have Rodriguez and Redmond. We've gone all in with a pair of 8s and are hoping 3 players have got less than that.

We're in trouble. Free scoring Sunderland next, they'll be fighting for their lives but we look like we have no fight left and Defoe will score, I'm sticking and tenner on it today.

Saints vs West Ham: Match Thread

What are Puel's options at center back? He's been left with nothing and we're staring at relegation if Van Dijk isn't back within 6 weeks. Oh and why on earth wouldn't he be angling for a move this summer after watching this season unfold, from 6th and in Europe to this utter dreck. Get your money on zlatan to score 2 or more in the final! -

we are going down unless we can get Van Dijk back before April -
If there were complications leading to an extended Van Dijk lay off coupled with one more centre back injury then we could be in big trouble. It would frustrating (no swearing means this does not convey fully how frustrating) if we ended up back in the championship because we let Fonte go for 8 million. My fingers are crossed every time our centre backs jump, slide in or stay down longer than a few seconds.

Is Gardos the new Yoshida? He's always looked okay the few times I've seen him play. Is he now the Danny Fox of the team?
-
I'd rather Ivanovic than Terry.
-
I've always thought he was decent, not outstanding, and weren't most of his mistakes when he was playing out of position at right-back or left back? Happy to see him getting some plaudits.
-
idiot
-
what the hell? What's going on in the world? I'm scared very very scared.
-
I'd flippantly ask if he can play center back and think 'didn't we buy Soufal as a younger version of Payet? Can you play two of those type players in a team? Will Ward-Prowse still be the dead ball 'specialist'?'
-
Wow look what can happen when you have a shot on target.
-
Don't think there's much to it other than giving him a rest. Barring red cards etc I would put money on him getting 20 minutes today.

Liverpool EFL Cup Semi First Leg Buildup
Golac's Iron Gonads replied to St Chalet's topic in The Saints
I think the last few league games have provided plenty of substance for my pessimism. Is it 5 shots on target in 270 minutes of football? I really hope you enjoy the game, because for me there has been no enjoyment, apart from Jay's goal at Bournemouth, since we drew at home to the mighty Beer Scheva. -
Liverpool EFL Cup Semi First Leg Buildup

We won't win. The best result we will get is a draw and then we'll get thumped up there. Only our 4th semi final in 40 years but I'm not even going to bother setting my alarm for 5 a.m. Did that 6 times for Europa games. You can stick it right up your ****ing arris Saints! PREDICITON: 0-3 tie over before the return leg. The only positive? We'll be able to rest our star players for that game and not risk them getting injured before we sell them in the summer. -
doubled the money in my betting account, going to do the same again with a Saints not to win at Norwich bet. Could get a nice holiday out of this. I will need it to try and forget how abject we've been most of the season.
-
surely time for James Ward Prowse!
-
in. Most games we are typically playing 3 players upfront that have barely played a dozen games together. It'll take time for the team to gel attacking wise. I'd give Puel at least until the midway point of next season and then see how we are doing (though, even then, he'll most likely be rebuilding the defence after the summer sales).
