  1. Roma would be a good move for Bednarek. A step up from Saints.
  2. According to Wikipedia, Bednarek has played 42 times for Poland over the last 5 years. I know Poland aren’t great and experience isn’t everything, but he is a seasoned international.
  3. I did wonder if both of the Leicester goals were off the training ground, under the new coaching regime.
  4. Saints up to 11th.
  5. Walker-Peters claimed that the fans do help.
  6. Too experimental. Expected to win that, against a poor Spurs side. Drop Salisu.
  7. I reckon in the right team, Jack could be a revelation, with his leadership mentality, experience and attitude. Maybe Leeds.
  8. When Ralph leaves, the new manager will bring in his own backroom team. And the manager after that. They have someone in mind to replace everyone, including you when you leave or die. Succession planning.
  9. After seeing Jamie Vardy’s performance last night I would play Shane Long, either as a starter or sub. Same age. Likes a goal against Liverpool.
  10. From the TV I thought Long and Armstrong did better up front than Broja and Adams. Justifying Ralph’s selection. The up front intensity dropped after the subs and allowed City onto the front foot.
  11. The Maguire incident reminds me of the Walker foul on Armstrong against City. Quite perplexing and confusing to watch. And how Shaw was allowed to pull Broja’s shirt without getting a yellow card. What a weird and wonderful game it is.
  12. Another advantage Broja has got is confidence. In an interview I heard him say about the through ball from Romeu, ‘I knew they couldn’t catch me.’ Against Premier League defenders (admittedly Brentford) that’s a confident comment for a young player to make. It’s also great the way he attacks defenders and makes strong runs into the penalty area, for example just before he passed the ball across the 6 yard box when no one was there at the back post to tap it in.
  13. Better forwards and Leicester would have won that. I’ll take the point. Well fought by both sides.
  14. As Ralph said, it’s expensive to criticise the referee!
  15. Fair play to the fantasy football player who got 48 points from that game.
  16. A pleasing win. Watford are a good side and scored 5 against Everton last week. Could easily have scored a few against Saints, but for great goalkeeping and last ditch defending.
  17. If I were them I would go for Mason Mount. A better prospect.
  18. Hopefully Chelsea are developing other young players to replace him at Saints when he moves on.
  19. Just seen the goal on YouTube. Clinical passing and finishing by Djenepo, Redmond and Broja. And the roar of relief at St Mary’s. Sweet.
  20. He wasn’t angry, he just chuckled. I wonder what he was supposed to say when asked to talk about that part of the match, which was a key moment in the drama. No comment? At least Thomas Tuchel behaved much worse with his reaction to the overturned Chelsea goal, and got yellow carded. I assume his fine and penalty will be more serious than Ralph’s. Or am I being naive? I hope not.
  21. At least he didn’t react as badly as Thomas Tuchel did to the disallowed goal. He chuckled about the VAR decision and looked embarrassed. I wonder what he was supposed to say. No comment?
  22. Best of luck to Ralph. I think he’s got a good career ahead of him after he leaves Saints.
  23. JWP didn’t go in with both feet. It was a one footed tackle, a bit like Chilwell’s on Livramento, for which he didn’t even get a yellow.
  24. Why is there no one on the back post?
