£15m maybe? It depends a bit on whether there is more than one club after him. £10m for one year's service from a midfielder like MS isn't necessarily bad value for money.

Thanks! Enjoyed reading that.

For the people who are ****ed off at Spurs / Liverpool in this transfer window: The situation is exactly the same for those clubs as it is for us. Lloris has been linked with United. Sterling has asked not to go on tour with Liverpool for pre-season because he is actively campaigning in the press for a move. That has to hurt. It's really annoying that we didn't get Toby to sign a longer-term contract, but it's just football. Other great players will play for the Saints and most likely we will do better than most teams this season because we have a great manager. Enjoy it while it lasts!

50 pages and counting! I feel like I've learned so much.

Have we had this yet: http://www1.skysports.com/transfer-centre/ ALDERWEIRELD SAINTS' NO. 1 TARGET Sky Sports understands that Atletico Madrid defender Toby Alderweireld is still Southampton's No. 1 target, despite the Belgium having undergone a medical at Spurs earlier today. And we also believe that the south cost club have made an offer of €20m for the player in the hope of turning last season's loan move into a permanent deal this summer. However, the Saints have yet to receive a response from Atleti.

He probably means the £1.5 million option buyout money.
-
Are we sure he is flying to Spurs for a medical? Everyone seems to think that is definitely true, but I've just seen that one story amongst a load of other stories that can't all be true because they contradict each other.
-
Outbidding Spurs isn't really in our game plan though. From what I have observed, Southampton prefer to buy players that are relatively unknown. I wouldn't be surprised to find out that we aren't buying Toby but have a different player lined up. Maybe one who isn't quite as good, but costs a third of the price.

If we manage to only lose Clyne, and add the three that we have + jay rod coming back - that will be an amazing transfer window.
-
No way, we'll be preparing for champion's league next season on the back of winning Europa and/or a top-four premiership finish.

Which club is better: Liverpool, Tottenham, Southampton, or Swansea

This made me laugh, a lot. Thanks. -
http://www.theguardian.com/football/2015/jun/20/liverpool-joe-gomez-charlton-athletic Liverpool sign someone who was used at centre back in the academy but at right back last season.
-
Price too high because he's already an establish prem player?
-
I think he meant last season as in the one when they came 2nd.
-
Exactly. They're a CL team.
-
Kane just signed a long contract extension and does not want to leave. I get the impression he's one of those rare players who is also a fan of the club he plays for.
-
According to http://www.transfermarkt.co.uk/daniel-sturridge/verletzungen/spieler/47082 he has missed 45 games in 2.5 seasons with Liverpool, and missed only 11 games in the 4.5 seasons before that. Seems to me that the problem is Liverpool's training methods. He should think about moving on..
-
I wonder who the players are that Liverpool fans would most hate to see leave. I'm guessing: Sterling, Coutinho, WaggleDance Sturridge, Henderson, Can. Oh and Brendan's wonderbuys from the summer, Balotelli and Lovren

Title of the post got my hopes up a bit, one player isn't an exodus. Here's hoping he's the departure that makes the rest of the Liverpool team take a look at other options

I'd say sitting back and playing for a draw could be more likely to result in a loss than going for it.
