  1. Arsenal outplaying us at the moment.
  2. Utterly bizarre decision letting him go.
  3. Hah 3-2 Everton! Is this still a good result for us?
  4. I have it on, every few minutes it replays the last 15 seconds or so.
  5. Really wish Walcott wasn't back for this game. Hope he has a quiet one.

  8. You have a point. The counter-argument is that for some of the players, club football is a route to the ultimate goal which is to play for their country. If the players are happy and confident that their club football is getting them to that goal they won't join a bigger club in order to achieve their ambition. Also, the international games often cause a dip in form. I think this is more pronounced if the players do badly.
  9. I think it's a shame if France don't go to the World Cup. They're normally really entertaining, either because they play really well or because the implode utterly. It would be better for them to get to the group stage and then lose all their games then imo.
  10. I think we're getting a bit carried away with all the stories in the press here. England will lose against Chile and Germany, Southampton will drop a few positions in the table, we'll lose 2 or 3 of our best players in January and everyone can go back to what they love, which is moaning about how **** we've played every week.
  11. I would rather the other clubs continue to spend money on foreign imports please, and the best English talent be brought to Southampton.
  12. The "home nations agreement" only applies to people who are eligible by birth (their own or parental/grandparental) so it doesn't apply to Morgan because he doesn't have any British relatives. He would qualify if he has applied for a British passport. I agree however that it is irrelevant because the player has to want to play for England, and he seems to want to play for France. Source: http://www.fifa.com/mm/document/affederation/administration/51/56/07/transfer_commentary_06_en_1843.pdf (Annex 2). EDIT: I think this is incorrect. I'm not sure enough to make any further statements and can't be bothered to look any more.
  13. Love Le Tissier's comment at the end
  14. Last season the problem was that we struggled to take the points we should have from the weaker teams. This season we're much more consistent at doing that. The next month will tell us if we can still take points from the big teams too. Can't wait to find out!

  16. He might be right, I hope he isn't. I hope no-one on here takes it too personally, he's not saying that he wants us to drop down the table, he's just saying that he thinks at the moment we're performing better that we will in the next set of games. We do have a really tough run of fixtures coming up.
  17. Where did you see that?
  18. Good link, thanks. What is motd3? Is it internet-only content or is it on the TV?
  19. I can't tell whether this means he wants to play for England or he wants to sign for a French team where he'll get the recognition in the FFF setup.

  21. http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/2008%E2%80%9309_Hull_City_A.F.C._season#Results_by_round Had one more point than us after 10 games. Had two fewer points after 11, so pretty similar.
  22. I like reading the stats when they show that Southampton are really good at football. If they were like: possession was split 57% / 43%, that would be really dull. Morgan's stats from today are fantastic though. The fact that he performs like that every week just shows what a great footballer he is, and that he really deserves to be in the French squad.
  23. I'm not even sure one of the really big teams would prise away the people that are playing every game at the moment. It's different when we're struggling - even a top performer will think the rewards are better in a bigger side. When we getting the results that we are at the moment and no-one can tell how the season is going to turn out (in a really good way, not like usual) I think it's difficult for players to be sure they won't regret the move.
