Yep, but that for me goes without saying. He wasn't out of contact as far as i remember so surely it had a performance bonus for promotion - why the need to further reward him? If we had stayed up (deliberate use of tense) then we could have given him a new contract.

Have to disagree with this statement. This squad is nowhere near good enough to stay up, unfortunately. I posted it on the new manager thread, but there aren't 3 teams worse than us, in fact it remains to be seen if wolves are worse than us. Sad state of affairs....

This isn't a premier league squad in terms of quality, no chance. Only two league goals scored and we don't look capable of keeping clean sheets! Add to that, there aren't 3 teams weaker than us.
