Those of you here who believe SDR was poor against reading have a real agenda. Getting a bit tired of this constant bashing of him and this no end product carp tbh. He was practically the only player who ran at the opposition whilst our general midfield play consists of our popular sideways and back style. Cant recall the stats exactly, but im sure he won us a at least 4 corners on his own, forced a good save from the keeper, put a couple of decent crosses in, again, shame we sit so deep up front that there's no one to meet it. He offered us more than Guly or Chaplow have in recent weeks. So many people expect miracles from him when hes given 20 minutes here or there.

Kohinoor - portswood highstreet! job done!

ummm, what? Chappers came on and changed the game, closed down, tackled, made decent passes, made things happen. most of the things steve didnt do today. For me it was SDR who was "average".

Rickie Lambert does not play for Saints! Saints play for Rickie Lambert!

This is exactly my view. Danny certainly did have a great game on saturday. He is a much better player when he's playing the ball on the deck or with purpose rather than the hoofball he has been playing in previously since he joined us. As stated above, as a primary set piece taker, many less assist would have to be percieved as pretty poor. I'm glad it looks at though his game is improving, but lets face it, it does seem as though a lot of praise has come from the fact 2 corners were bundled in, and Lallana put away a great finish. Credit where credit's due though, lets hope he continues to play like he did saturday.

If this is a move to give the other two a wake up call, then good move IMO. I'm sorry, but i just dont rate Fox. I've tried to keep an open mind and give him time to settle in, but he just plays far too many long balls at the first opportunity for my liking. more than 50% of these end up with us losing posession, if not immediately from his kick, then whilst struggling to control the ball. Couple this with the fact Fox rarely overlaps too, I can see why AL prefers Harding, but have to agree he's been off sorts this season too. Absolutely no reason why Dickson can't do as good a job if not better as far as im concerned.

I dont nderstand why he is so highly rated. I seen him make far more howlers than Bart, costing his team loads of points. He is no better than anything we have IMO. No thanks!

Puncheon is not the answer. There's a reason he didnt settle here and the fans got on his back - He was consistently playing badly and was a total liability. Why would this be any different now?
-
This is exactly how i rembered him too. From what i recall there was a reason the fans got on JP's back, because he was consistently our worst player on the pitch.
-
This! People are very quick to knock players despite the fact they have made valuable contributions to the team. Just because he hasnt had a lot of pitch time doesnt make him a terrible player. Barnard isnt getting a look in at the moment, and last season connolly went 4 months (whilst he was fit) without a game. Doesnt mean they cant/couldnt offer anything. Ok, he's not the leading championship level striker we want, but had we have had the 7 sub rule i think he'd have still made a good impact sub running at a tired defence. I think this is a good move for both clubs though.
-
Well this is not true at all, he won more than his fair share of headers. Looked no worse than any of our back 4 today imo, no worse than fonte, who wasnt at his best today either.

No, ive heard from my brother who is a leeds fan - there isnt a big difference.

£4m swoop for Burnley duo Rodriguez and Fox?
saint-ross replied to modern matron's topic in The Saints
Starting to think this too. The fee that was mentioned this morning was £5m. Perhaps Burnley are forcing our hand a bit as a result of the AOC deal? FWIW, footie manager has Rodriguez with a potential ability of 140, thats 5 more than maynard, I beleive MLG said that this is the most important stat. :-) -

SSN have just echoed this story. I was expecting them to report on Maynard tbh. Either would do for me. -
LOL if the real Bart came out and said that on the OS :-)
-
I think for most people it has something to do with the fact he lamped some girl in a bar in town for no other reason that some lads were heckling him (and rightly so). Arrogant Pr**k!
-
I'm sure the £15m is more likely then!

SSN reporting £7mil + add-ons. hope they are wrong!

This. Surely us saints fans have learnt a thing or two from Redcrap and burley in recent years.

Which one of these two would be getting forward? I always thought both these two were quite defensive minded.
