I think Ron is just trying to play it down now to take some of the pressure off the players. Let's face it, it could just be coincidence, but our form has dipped just when the fans, media et all started to take our CL challenge more seriously. In the first half of the season there was little expectation. I think Ron's previous comment about CL qualification has backfired and he knows it.

Kelvin as club captain supports whoever is selected, has the backing and respect of the entire club, is a fantastic morale builder in the dressing room, a true professional. These are most of the qualities your mate is demonstrating he doesnt have. If your mate was a "Kelvin Davis" he'd have a lot more support from us fans. Has anyone stopped to think about the obvious - Saints reluctantly take Taider on the basis its the only way we get rid of Osw@nker. Taider is obviously not happy here either, then suddenly this new club then come along and say "we would really like Taider and could use him", Taider himself loves this as he gets to go home, saints no longer have to pay his wages and gave a player they dont want anyway. At the same time Inter still keep Tiader of the wage bill - All 3 clubs win. Dont see the issue here at all.

Really enjoyed the interview. The one thing i cant help thinking though, is after such detailed and calculated analysis of player targets and how they fit into our system etc, how did we still end up with the Forren's, Mayuka's, Ramirez' and Osvaldo's. I know these things are never guaranteed, but with these guys in the back of my mind it did take a little value away from what les was saying. Obviously Gaston may yet come good, but i find it hard to believe that with such a process in place, then surely we could have identified more effective players that suit SAINTS' style at half the cost. All IMO of course.
