Gillingham's was pretty ****ing horrific last season, a stand made from scaffold that looked like it was going to buckle at any point. Also agree with the elm park one, and for pure oddness - of the place, people & ground - i'd add barnsley too. Still takes a lot to beat fratton mind, but we're not allowed to say that

That swindon game still ranks as the worst saints game i've ever been too, and the sight of the entire away end rolling their arms in the air for a sub was a real low point (not for the fans i might add, but that we needed to do it in the first place). Kind of shows how far we've come in such a short space of time if you ask me. To go from that to how we've played at times the last couple of seasons is an immense achievement. The important thing is that we don't forget those lows, they're what make the highs so much more precious.

that midfield doesn't fill me with confidence

how many teams mlg? and how long did each one last, oh and on what day where they?? Come on these are stats to be quoted, don't let us down now....

I'll take a draw on saturday though i'll be very surprised if we get it. Common sense says that brighton, the same brighton that matched us at home for 45 mins (admittedly the first 45 we were a lot better than them) when we had a stronger team, will win it. My big worry if i'm being honest is risking lallana to early and losing him for the rest of the games. The difference he makes to the side is incredible and i'm sure we'd have won by a lot last saturday had he been there (the space in between their midfield and defence was incredible). Also this game won't be an easy one, there'll be some decent challenges and brighton will be desperate not to lose that home record so will hit us hard in attack. Still think we'll do it even if we lose mind, but it's just going to be a nervy as **** last few games!

All you need is an image on a white background. That way you can convert it to a vector with a programme like illustrator. It's probably a better way of doing it anyway since a large photo is going to look rubbish.

That is quite possibly the greatest line in any football song ever!

Because not long ago they almost didn't have a club, and now they're being promoted back to the championship with a new ground and a talented young manager. If you can't see similarities then i feel sad for you. If you base your opinion on those that talk solely on the internet i feel sorry for you. But most importantly if you can't appreciate a team that fully deserve their credit then shame on you. For me it's about good grace and class, the only fillip to that is if it's the blue few, but then they're ****s and i don't want to see them do anything bar fail.
-
I think it's worth saying well played to them, they've achieved promotion before the end of the season and have fully deserved it. Hopefully Adkins will have the good grace to say the same after everything he's levelled their way this season. Now let's just hope that we can do the same, it's still in our hands and it's going to be one hell of a run in!

To be fair to lard he's made some pretty spot on comments about our performances at home which have been under par (but we've won). I really don't see what's achieved by scapegoating or attacking different points of view unless they damage the team - like so many of the needless attacks on players like puncheon and forte during the game. Now is the time to accept others differences, ignore trolling from the likes of Dalek (who's consistently hilarious with it), and be as one till the end of the season in my opinion.
-
not the result i'd have liked but not one i'm altogether surprised by. Still in our hands and i still think we'll do it. Saturday is a must win (though let's be honest it was before). Come on Saints, we're almost there lets just keep together for the rest of the season!
-
What ever happens would be good to see saints fans collecting for them before the game, let's not forget it wasn't that long ago we were in this mess ourselves and would put paid to the arrogant fans claim people are making about us.

The important one for me is Brentford away (i'm a season ticket holder so homes games are sorted) any news on when this is on sale yet?
-
Surely that'd scan better if you changed it slightly to, He's big, He's black, He's Jaidi, The hardest man, Down by the sea, Strong and black beware, Come and have a go if you dare.

Good result and easy win against a very poor Charlton team that just weren't interested. Lallana was fantastic for most of the time he was on the pitch, Dickson shone as left back (and i'm a big, big harding fan) and Lambert's set up play was superb. I do think two players are worth a special mention though for their performances, Guly and Jaidi i thought were superb today. Jaidi was incredibly solid and his decision making and passing improves by the game (and i didn't rate him at all up to the Brighton home game). Guly too works absolutely tirelessly and at some point i'm sure some of his more intelligent balls will be picked up and he'll create us a glut. Oh and "special" mention to the absolutely appalling Charlton away support. What a joke of a turnout from a club that aren't that far away and count themselves as a decent size. Roll on Orient, i for one am starting to believe!

To be honest with you I (as a season ticket holder) would be pleased to see the club drop the prices for the remaining games significantly, or maybe even do a two for one deal, just so we can fill the stadium for these important matches.

As much as i hated him and what his party stood for they're not even close to being as bad as the bedfellows of Di Canio. http://www.telegraph.co.uk/news/1506262/Im-a-fascist-not-a-racist-says-Paolo-di-Canio.html

If he was ever manager of my club i'd stop going. There's no way i could support a fascist as manager regardless of how much i love the club.

This for me for performance, but for raw emotion; passion; noise; result the carling cup game against the skates when they booed Ted Bates minute silence

Yup was like a trip down my footballing life, starting out in the pens, moving to the milton under the roof, then to the archers and now the northam. God i miss the Dell, and le tiss, i was lucky enough to have been there from his debut through to his testimonial and i'd be surprised if i get to see a better player in the red and white. One sad note from that lot though is they missed the last ever goal at the Dell (don't even bother correcting that one pedants) the emotion and perfection of that moment still lives behind my eyelids now. Le Tiss, thank you. Thank you for keeping us up. Thank you for letting us been known around the world. Thank you for staying loyal. Thank you for taking the time out to talk to the thousands of fans that pester you away from football. And thank you for the great goals and memories.

Mondragon (the largest of the basque co-ops) has a proud heritage in the basque country, and spain's networks of co-ops are well founded and deep rooted. The difference there is that they have their roots in the Anarchist (very unpopular right now i know but actually a serious political movement in spain) syndicalist movement best typified by the CNT. One of the things i love about them is that they play a huge role in society itself, putting money back in to schools etc. It's not just in the basque country/cataluna/spain that co-ops thrive though, there's a proud tradition in Southern Italy too. It's worth noting too that there's a vast array of co-op structures, from workers co-ops owned and run by the staff that work in them; to community co-ops, where the staff own the co-op but higher level decisions are made with full community involvement; to partnerships (like John Lewis) and customer co-ops, where the people using the service have an investment in the co-op itself (this is actually how the co-op store started, with profits being returned as dividends to the people using them at the end of the financial year). It's also important to understand that whilst most co-ops tend to be non profit making, with the profit going back into the wages of the people working there, not all are. Also not all are non hierarchical, which the basque one's tend to be, and can infact have a defacto management structure. Oh and it shouldn't be overlooked that there's a great network of co-op's in britain too, at one point they were even the biggest growth area during the recession (not sure if that still rings true though). In Southampton itself there are still a number of co-op's running too, from housing to non-profit shops & companies, and the head quarters of the Southern Area Co-operative Development Agency was housed in St Mary's for decades (not sure if it's still there now though as i don't live in the city anymore). Oh and for those wanting to do more reading i'd suggest looking into what happened in Argentina after the collapse of their economy in the early part of the 00's, with many of the workers re-claiming the places they worked in. Oh and sadly dune i won't be able to respond to your comments because this is my last post of today, no doubt they'll be balanced and sensible.

I think mat le god might be a touch autistic to be fair, from what i can see of his posts he seems to job down everyone's throats about the smallest things in the world. Also his attention to basically irrelevant details and taking everything literally (in this case football chants) are classic signs of autism. Also i don't think i've ever heard a more biased person saints fan and that takes some doing!

It's amazing how many clubs seem to give a **** about us these days isn't it? I don't know if it was just that the internet didn't exist when i was growing up but i'm sure other clubs seemed far less bothered about us. Still nice to know you're noticed isn't it?

Could anyone help me to get Brighton and Brentford ticket?
ericb replied to Moscow Saint (Zhezlov)'s topic in The Saints
When do the brentford tickets go on sale? I'm a season ticket holder and want to make this game but haven't seen any news on them yet. Also is it a terrace or seating?
