I thought we were ok! I went with my bro, who hasn't been to a saints match since Mark Falco put four past us for QPR in 1987 or something (when we were pretty good - anyone remember that?!).
He said he could see how depressing it must be watching saints at the moment, because while we seem to play better football (in midfield) and look good in posession, we defend like we've never played before and our strikers can't/won't/don't shoot.
We lost 2-0 to a team who we outplayed for a lot of the time and we were refused a penalty when we should have got one. Plymouth's big advantage was a lumbering (but goal aware) centre forward and a full complement of "if in doubt, boot it out" defenders, all more than happy to clear to safety when we crossed/shot or tried a long ball over the top. When Chris Perry plays for us, you can immediately tell who he is - he's the one who looks like he's done it before...
The worst thing about it for me was so many of our "fans" were far too interested in abusing our chairman, players and manager once we went 2-0 down. I'm not a psychologist, but chanting abuse at them is unlikley to improve the performance during the game, or subsequently.
And finally.... can people please stop asking for JP/RL to resign, be sacked etc. We haven't got any money for anyone new and the credit crunch means we can't borrow any and if we did it could bankrupt us - this would be much worse than going down to League 1. Of course JP and his plucky bunch of young total footballers will avoid this anyway, so its a moot point. COYR.
