  1. This is especially good as I recall the Celtic fans affirming that Hooper would never join the minnows of the south coast, yet we signed arguably their best player/prospect. COYR! Onwards and upwards from here. Let's hope we can get the rest of our targets soon so they'll be more than ready for the coming season.
  2. Scott Sinclair anyone?
  3. True, he has been mentioning it on twitter over the past month. Although if you look at some of his other posts you'll see how much of it comes out of his arse. The amount of speculated/confirmed transfers that haven't materialised is astounding. I'm sure he thinks if he tweets 30+ rumours a day he is bound to get one right. One guy posting on twitter doesn't mean "It has legs".
  4. Good signing for Stoke, I've heard good things about him. Strange seeing a player going from Barca to Stoke though. Here's a picture of him on the way to the airport.
  5. Just checked up on twitter. It was posted by Transfers To Be @TransfersToBe. Apparently a football agent. I have no idea if he is "ITK" or reliable. "Morgan Schniederlin's proposed move to Real Sociedad takes another step, the Spanish side have now made a new offer of £12m #saintsfc" "His agent tells me that the player is keen on playing Champions League football, and that could swing the south coast club into accepting"
  6. What a goal this would have been.
  7. Not that this source had any credibility to begin with, but mentioning Lamela in the same sentence as Saints gave me a laugh.
  8. Have we been linked with any wingers yet? Haven't seen anything on here lately,
  9. What's so good about Bournemouth that they're 20/1, whereas Yeovil and Doncaster are 250/1 and 150/1 respectively? Would love if somehow they got promoted.
  10. Am I the only one surprised that Simon Gillett is almost 28? Where did that time go!
  11. I was just about to post this. There will be bigger clubs going for him no doubt, but surely worth a go. Maybe Cortese can work his magic!
  12. Completely different circumstances.
  13. I'd have more faith in Cortese than Peter Risdale to be fair.
  14. Not really, a top four finish could potentially solidify a position as a top four contender for the coming seasons. Enticing quality players to join us, along with improvement in other areas. Thus giving us a better chance to win silverware. i.e., Fa Cup/League Cup. It's got nothing to do with not understanding how prestigious it would be to win the FA Cup, it's a gamble that could see us achieve more.
  15. 4th place. It would allow us to strengthen the squad considerably due to the Champions League. From there we could push on to maintain a top 4 finish in the future as well as trying to win any silverware.
  16. 1. Man City 2. Man Utd 3. Chelsea 4. Spurs --------- 5. Arsenal 6. Liverpool 7. Everton 8. West Brom 9. Swansea 10. Newcastle ------------- 11. Aston Villa 12. West Ham 13. Southampton 14. Cardiff 15. Stoke 16. Sunderland 17. Fulham ----------- 18. Norwich 19. Hull 20. Watford
  17. Therefore denying Villa any chance of gaining any points.
  18. Watford look quality.
  19. If we stay on 39 points we MIGHT be relegated. I'm sure you will agree there are no certainties in football. It is POSSIBLE that one of Wigan/Norwich/Newcastle will lose their next game. If Wigan draw/lose we are virtually safe. If Norwich lose they have to beat City (away) on the last day. If Newcastle lose they have to beat Arsenal on the last day. None of these teams are certain to gain any points from the final two games. If you think it's a possibility for us to lose both games, then surely it's understandable that Wigan are not certain to win against Arsenal like you claim.
  20. You must be gutted...
  21. It's fair enough that he has to adapt to the league, but the concerning thing for me is that there has been no improvements over the season. All is well and good saying he will come good next season, but to me that's just wishful thinking. I'd love to see him live up to the hype. But so be it if we sell him, we can purchase better players for the price we paid.
  22. All we need is for one of Newcastle, Norwich, or Wigan to draw their next game. I can't see Newcastle or Norwich picking up points after that, Wigan might against Villa, but it's not enough to leap ahead of us. I'll start worrying if the three of them win next week and we don't. Until then I'm not worried.
  23. Fulham, who still aren't safe had Reading put 4 past them at home yesterday. The same could be said when we played West Brom or Swansea, they still took points off us. Anyway, going by that logic then we should beat Stoke the last day of the season, who more than likely will have nothing to play for. So you see a possibility of us picking up no points at all, whilst the four below us are absolutely certain to pick up points. How does that work? It's certainly feasible that either Norwich or Newcastle will pick up 1 point from their remaining two games, keeping us up of goal difference.
  24. You're either incredibly thick or a WUM.
