I think "let them get on with it and ignore them" is a bit idealistic. It'd be great if, to use an obvious example, sectarian marches in Northern Ireland and Glasgow were something people could just "ignore" but it's not that simple. The reason political/religious groups march is so that people can't ignore them. They're doing this to make a point and get a reaction and they'll doubtless get one.
