  1. The previous home match, the big screens were showing replays for key moments, which was nice. Although I'm not sure whether its allowed (as it could undermine the ref's decisions). So maybe we weren't allowed to have our big screens on today (purely speculation). Was annoying not knowing what the match time was though. I hope they use them again next match.
  2. Saw a guy on the floor on the way back from the game, anyone know what happened to him? Was lying on the curb by the traffic lights near the old ambulance station by Jurys Inn. There were Police there with an ambulance on its way. I was assuming that he got hit by a vehicle although I didn't see any stopped there.
  3. Lallana's been slipping a lot lately as well, seems to be every match. Anyone know what boots he wears as I'll be sure not to buy them.
  4. Don't suppose anyone's got a working stream?
  5. Remember that Lambert was struggling to make an impression at Macclesfield & Stockport when he was a young player with a less than impressive goal ratio. Only time will tell.
  6. I've no knowledge of his legal issues, so ignore that, but my point still stands that we have 4 strikers at the club at the moment, and at least one has always been injured. So an extra stiker would be useful.
  7. Surely the whole point is not to get desperate. Lukas has scored far more goals this season than Maynard or Rodriguez so he's clearly not a bad player. Lambert will be 30 in February, Connolly is 34 and very injury prone, Barnard (still untested at this level) has been injured most of the season and could go to prison, Guly is inconistent. Forte is warming the bench for Preston in the division below. So of the 4 strikers actually at the club at least 1 has always been injured, it will only take one more injury/suspension and we'll be down to the bare bones. I think it's worth bringing a promising young striker into the squad, and if he's a saints fan then even better. From what I've seen of him he's big and strong and fairly quick with decent techinique and I think he could go on to progress further.
  8. He is their best player, and I don't really think he'd be good enough for us. Other than that Skacel, who we've seen before.
  9. Hardly twisting words, from the quotes you've used I would understand that he thinks it's not very original and doesn't like it sung everytime he touches the ball. If he doesn't find it off putting, then he finds it annoying.
  10. I like it. Think we could sing that as well.
  11. Exactly just like any other palyer chant. Of course it's going to be off putting if your name gets shouted at you every time you touch the ball, especially when you are still trying to force your way into the team. Fulham had more or less the same chant for Steed Malbranque but just sung it when he scored or came on.
  12. Explains the sense of deja vu I had reading through the last page, and also explains the refernces to an evening game.
  13. Thanks.
  14. Is there a link anywhere?
  15. And from what is visible, in Southampton at least is that they make their own opportunities. There are a lot who work self employed, opening shops and working as independent skilled tradesmen. I would argue that there is little in the way to encourage entrepreneurship in the UK at present. This would have been one of the main things I'd have thought the government would have addressed. Instead they just print more money (increasing inflation), and create Enterprise Zones (which just moves jobs away from cities, and reduces the amount of tax the government gets). Surely no one can actually think the tories are doing a decent job, they look clueless.
  16. To answer the thread title, we don't have a far east marketing guy. In fact we don't have any marketing guys.
  17. Any chance you're a Daily Mail reader?
  18. HK's not nearly that bad, you can drink in the street, find lots of local bars as well as Western Style bars. And the skyscraper's are tall because of the lack of space, not because some rick blokes are having a mines bigger than yours competition. Saying that there are also great beaches, mountains and temples, festivals and islands. Much more culture than I would have thought Dubai can manufacture. I always felt very welcome there.
  19. Not many shop at independent shops then? Gannaways Fruiterer on Portswood has just closed, which was a bit of a shame since they made some of their own decent looking jars of chutneys & sauces.
  20. Wasn't Higginbothom in a similar situation with us? Was always back up, never really looked anything special - in fact quite often looked a liability and then moved up to the Premiership to play first team football.
  21. The 'people' in Portsmouth just eat their cats, microwaved first of course. http://www.bbc.co.uk/news/uk-england-hampshire-14594624
  22. Thought Martin had a good game and Chaplow played well in an otherwise poor midfield in the second match. Forte was terrible, but not sure why he was on the left while Holmes was on the right, as they both played badly, I guess it was a failed experiment and they will each play on their prefered wings in future so that they might actually be able to deliver a cross. And Bart did look excellent - better than Davis on that showing. Good shot stopping and distribution. Jaidi looked just as bad at the start of last season, but managed to become more mobile as the season wore on, not sure he will manage it this year.
  23. Correct, it should be adequet to good and if everything clicks then we could do very well like Norwich last year. But when you consider West Ham have Carlton Cole, Scott Parker, Frederick Piquionne, Freddy Sears, Kevin Nolan, Mark Noble, that IMO is the best in the division
  24. Hadn't realised Jay Bothroyd is available on free, although he'll be looking for a prem club of course, but he'll be a good signing for someone.
  25. and a Saints Ale. Quite a good effort by the club I think, they've tried to get something for everyone there.
