Don't lnow if it counts, but will probably go to Ejector Seat festival (in the middle of Southampton). Always good to support local music, and there usually turns out to be some decent stuff. I've worked at some of the bigger festivals (IOW & Reading), and thought they looked awful. Much prefer smaller intimate festivals where you get genuine people going to enjoy themselves rather than teenagers and other morons going to see commercial acts. And it doesn't take 40 mins to get from your tent to a stage. Went to End of The Road last year and thought even that was getting a little too big. Will probably go to Festibelly as its small, closeby and cheap. And I'll go to Golden Down as it's small, closeby and like the lineup. Hope to go to some others a little further afield as well if they look good. Was thinking of going to Dimensions festival in Croatia (which is a new one following Outlook Festival) however if I went to a festival abroad I'd want a more international feel to it, it seems to be geared exclusively to Brits which has put me right off the idea.

With Pompey's recent signings, I was alway under the impression that there was a limit to the number of players a club could loan in a season, but I guess not. Still seems very odd that Pompey don't seem to have a transfer embargo, Birmingham have one for far less. Again I'd have thought being in administration would trigger an automatic transfer embargo for incoming transfers iregardless of whether or not the club is supposed to pay their wages.

Why do people keep saying this? All we have to do is lose to Reading and then drop points against any number of teams including Blackpool, Palace & Middlesbrough. Wouldn't surprise me if we draw our next game and West Ham & Reading both win, and then everyone will be biting their nails again.

Before we signed him, the general feeling was that we need a couple of extra strikers with Barnard not really making an impression this season and Connolly + Guly picking up knocks we needed the cover. Tanadari was more of a gamble since he an unknown quality, so it made sense to sign another stiker with a decent record in this division who could potentially make the step up. It seemed to be between Sharp and Maynard, and Maynard has had a similar quiet impact since joining West Ham. Adkins having worked with him before doesn't fill me with confidence as that was also true of Forte. However I think both Sharp and Maynard are in similar positions now, in that they are no longer the best players in poor teams, and it will take a little while for them to adjust and get back to form.

If you were writing a banner for pompey, what would you put on it?

I'd have thought the head of catering would be more to do with the Halo Events stuff. e.g. 'high quality' 3/4 course meals/banqueting for hospitality and on match days and non match day events. Remember that Halo also cater events at the Ocean Terminal so its potentially a good revenue stream.

Thought that kind of gave the impression that they didn't care that we'd put in a great performance and notched up an excellent overdue win. Wonder if these people left on 85 mins at the JPT final as well becasue that was an easy win and almost everyone had some distance to travel back.

Oh yeah, my mistake must have got him and O'Neil mixed up.

When will Matthew Taylor's ban start for his sending off aginst us? Would have thought he would have been banned for today, but he played and scored. Since they've not lost their last last 3 games with only ten men, not sure that suspensions will even have that much impact.

BBC seems to agree with them. From their match report. 'Allardyce's side remain top and it will take something special to prevent them from returning back to the Premier League at the first attempt based on tonight's evidence. Just a point separated these two sides before the game but the gulf in class during the opening stages could not have been greater. West Ham outclassed, outmuscled and outplayed their opponents early on but once Taylor had been dismissed, a combination of great goalkeeping from Green and poor finishing from Sharp prevented Saints clawing their way back into the contest. Guly's long range 'shots' were frustrating yesterday, I remember at least three terrible shots that were nowhere near the target when we he had plenty of options. Lallana even deliberately blocked one and put a cross in instead. Still it's nice to see a he's not afraid to shoot which some players seem to be at times. Did play much better than recently though and didn't look bad, but nothing too special.

Thought Bart had a decent enough game (looked much more confident), pulled off some very good saves. His distribution was poor though. We seem to have really struggled recently with getting the ball out when the keeper has possession, can't remember what we were doing at the start of the season, presumably we were given more space, and the full backs would run the ball forward. Reeves looked very promising and Lee looked like he could be good, just a shame that we were playing at about 5mph and Lee was playing at the 30mph that Millwall were also playing at. Passes & movement were generally far too slow especially from Hammond who continued to take 5 mins to pick out the simplest (and often) backwards pass. As said before our full backs were gash. Barnard looked much better than Guly for me, came much closer to scoring and actually put a shift in.

Looks like a stand full saints fans behind the goal.
-
Don't think I've seen a foul on a keeper as obvious as that. Difficult for the ref to see through all those bodies though, would have needed one of those officials behind the goal.
-
Would have been nice if they were cheaper, but still a lot cheaper than a league game.

He does have an amazing goalscoring record. Could be worth signing, if its for a small fee. Although I'd have thought a loan to League 1 club for the rest of the season, not sure he'd benefit much if we sign him and then send him back to conference to get his experience. If he's ever going to play in the Championship/Prem then he'll need football league experience sooner rather than later, at 25 he's not going to improve a great deal, just needs to test himself and adjust to the higher leagues.

Just a shame none of them are wingers though.

But there is a difference between not playing because you're not good enough like Pulis was and not playing because you're injured like Connolly often is. Whenever I've seen Holmes play for us he's done very well and looked much better than I thought he was. He looked decent enough in right back the other week against Bristol City, and since we are struggling with wide options would like to keep him until the end of the season at least. I'd rather get rid of Jaidi (who should have retired by now really) since he won't ever be fit to play for us again this season even if he was good enough.
-
Driver is always injured, and not sure how good he is actually is, he had a good season about 2/3 seasons ago, but that was it. Michael Knightly also looked like he was a great player for a season or two at Wolves and has since faded away. Lee Holmes might be just as good, and might actually have better a better injury record.

depends if they're coaches id buses.

I was very surprised that after the first half he had, the gk coach didn't come out with him at half time and take some shots at him, especially since Bart usually gives Kelvin a few catches at the start of the second half, but he got nothing! Someone that was clearly struggling and needed a bit of help not none, and with an ex goaly as manager I found that very surprising and disapointing.

He had a shocker, but many keepers are inconsistent, he has had very good games for us in the past. However I remember reading a while ago that he suffered from very bad nerves before games and low confidence. Which is what looked like what was wrong with him today.
