Anyone tell what pub that is? Don't recognise it. There's quite a lot of videos on youtube of shane long singing various songs and playing guitar.

I think he's a left back / centre back, but http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Tyrone_Mings looks good, I wonder if we'd have any chance of signing him and converting him to play on the right?
-
Great 'fact' video on there. Apparently he joined Southampton from Strasbourg aged just 8. He's also made over 20 league starts in the last 6 seasons. Although that second fact is technically correct.

I'm not sure how relevant that is? It doesn't necessarily matter how good the individual nations are. I think (as understood it) the point was that the governing bodies of those nations, and the rest of the African nations have (allegedly) problems with corruption which works out well for Sepp Blatter, as he (it's assumed) benefits from bribery.

Nuffield Theatre or Nuffield Hospital? I thought the theatre at first as that's the one I usually go to and I quite liked the idea that our players go to independent theatres, but then if Morgan was hanging around as well then maybe it's the hospital?

Think that's about the only comparison people could make between the two, and of course that they're both midfielders. Certainly wouldn't compare their tackling ability as scholes was woeful at tackling, and Reed looks a bit better in that department, but still early days. Maybe he'll also develop into a midfielder who can't tackle.

These worked a treat, thanks.

ahh, only just seen wiziwig's closed! Any good equivalent sites out there?

He played a decent enough looking through ball I think, which was cut out. If it hadn't been cut out it would have created a good scoring opportunity. Not as bad as being caught in possession.

Surprised that they questioned his kicking ability on Football Focus, thought it was much better than Hart's against Man City, and in general has been good, especially compared to Kelvin, who I thought was genuinely bad at kicking.

I think it's a stupid idea. Everyone gets three subs anyway. They're there to be used. Redknapp has no idea whether Sandro was ok to continue in the second half or not. Head injuries are not always obvious and the player went off as a precaution as much as anything. The same with any other injury, you often take a player off if he's had any sort of knock to avoid making it worse. He sounds like a Tory/UKIP politician. It's an ill thought out policy as a knee jerk reaction to a complete non-issue. If you read the article, then the head injuries expert who actually knows what he's talking about rightly advises against it.

Can see some of them in this clip, but I can't identify them all. Obviously Le Tiss is there. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=idwC3achT08

Shame it's not higher, I know he's set an ambitious target but if everyone in St Mary's donated it would be far greater, as it stands 25,000 that went to the match today haven't donated single pound. His just giving page counts 5,000 odd donations. https://www.justgiving.com/benalisbigrun/

Could have an element of truth to it, Saints' photographer left in the summer. They'll probably still get him to do it as he's very good but they'll need to check his availability. Failing that they'll probably get a photo agency to do it or another freelancer.

Hull have inquired about Jordan Rhodes to replace Shane Long.

Or even Micah Richards? Both linked with moves away from Man City. I know it's a completely different position, but RB/CB is an area that needs strengthening still. I wouldn't have thought that wages for those two would be too unreasonable? If we've still got the likes of Hoiveld and Isgrove on the bench for EPL matches then it really shows the lack of depth on the squad.
-
Scott Sinclair's supposed to be available, would he be a better option?
-
I suppose when we signed Peter Crouch people had a similar reaction and he ended up becoming a regular for England. He might not get into the England team, but hopefully he'll score loads and loads of goals for us.
-
Are you running for UKIP? *our squad wasn't made up of British players under Lowe. And those certainly weren't glory days.
-
Since signing for Palace permanently wiki says he scored 7 goals in 14 games. That's a rate of 1 every 2 games. I only hope we can find a striker with a scoring rate as good, let alone a midfielder. Back to Cork. Would be very disappointed if he left, especially for anything close to £3m. With all the outgoings this summer I always reassured myself that 'at least we'll still have a few core players left like Cork and Clyne.

Except that signing for Liverpool and playing for them aren't the same thing. He could sign for Liverpool warm their bench and watch his career stagnate, or play week in week at a club he supports. What can he buy with 80k a week that you can't buy with 25k a week?
-
Hadn't realised he's 29 (yrs old) already.

Would have liked a young English centre back like Lascelles, Caulker or Dier.
