  1. Nice one Thropey. Sneaky little button thingy on top left does the trick - why could I not see that meself? Probably cos I'm listening to the cricket (brilliant stuff) and trying to work all at the same time! Trotman heads over, Kelvin saves brilliantly from the counter attack...
  2. sound advice, the ol' 'hide in a bush' tactic. useful in many a situation in the modern world and, as Pilchards points out, a mobile bush or shrubbery is a good bit of kit for any subburban warrior to have handy. at least the OB didn't simply knock him to the ground or 'show him some stairs'.
  3. Okay. So I got a paypal message just now saying it hasn't gone through. account is fine, plenty of funds, correct cards etc. Do I just wait - will it automatically try again? Yours, confused of netland.
  4. Good point; well made!
  5. No to drums, yes to flares. Corduroy or otherwise. Having said that; I could bring my 303 and a small PA and I'm sure I could produce some rather spcial beats. ;-) Block 5 - I think that you'll find that 'language' (verbal constructs to comunication) has existed since before mankinds ability to construct a drum, just a small point!?!? :-)
  6. I remember her from school; I sat on the same table as her in Miss Hodginess's class.
  7. A sad day, will we see his like again? A truely valiant servent of the game and a proper old school gentlemen, RIP Sir Bobby.
  8. And the Moon is not a planet, FFS! Although you are of course correct to point out it was named after a Saints player. Otherwise, excellent post FF, raised a smile and got the grey matter working. that is all, carry on.
  9. lovely stuff. nice one trousers mate, and supporting cast. good work all, and thank you! shame bout result though chaps n chapeses init eh!?
  10. if we play well and win 3-0 every week then perhaps only 4500 fans should turn up! ;-)
  11. Come on guys. just because you didn't know what the message said, didn't make it nonsense or cryptic. I understood exactly what soccermom meant and went and picked up the magazinze in question and read the section refrenced. you should all be ASHAMED for not knowing what it meant. tch!
  12. classic quote to end a classic thread. Up until this post I had regarded Tony's comments in the same light as Dan Williams postings on here, but this one takes it to another level. the starting with the 'I cannot tell a lie!' quote, nice one George, the bizarre assertion that because everyone is entitled to their own opinion 'we live in a free world' right through to the reference to Saints as 'your' the final admittence that he's heart was never with this club. Thank Zeus you never succeded Tony, regards and all the best and all that, but good riddance.
  13. Sorry to revive a dying fred for a negative barely saints related comment, but; No. there is no such thing as 'greater southampton'. sure, we are great, but the city is a city and the surrounding towns are their own. Their not even close enough or big enough to be regarded a conorbation (sp ??).
  14. i thought to myself; who is that big black midfielder, he is so dormant?
  15. very good
  16. Any excuse for this really (quite possibly the greatest goal ever scored by any team EVER), but check out the two brilliant headers from KK, both powerful yet cushioned and placed perfectly: Not forgetting Cassels little cushioned header down to Bally either. Nice.
  17. He's already been in the dressing room and started on the mentality side of things. but yeah, hopefully he'll be chatting with all staff and I suspect him and cortese to talk seriously about coaching staff this morning. I should imagine that at some point today he'll sort out his company car too. :-)
  18. Sorry to say, (or am I?) but Pardew favours a 4-5-1 home and away against most opposition, always has done in the past anyway. at both WHU and Reading. dont know about the valley boys tho. not sure he ever had five midfielders available!
  19. charlton is to pardew as southampton is to redknapp. PS that's the first time I've not purposely misspelt or put astrisks in ol saggy jaw's name since 'the debacle'. I'm softening to history now...
  20. 35 is, quite simply, NOT too old to play football at this, or indeed any other, level. If he is fit it really doesn't matter how old he is. There are dozens of examples of footballers (athletes) playing at their peak at that age. Whether or not he has the talent and drive is another matter and nothing to do with age. Personally I'm one of the ones who wanted him to come 'back in day' to partner Prutton in midfield. so, I guess shows what little I know ;-)
  21. Wolfram tells me Bristol has a polution of 430713, with the greater metropoliton area having a population of 704639. Southampton comes in at just 246201. And has no surrounding metro area. so quite a bigger then PS I'd trust Wolfram over and above wiki (for numerical info like this anyway - they often take old figures are guestimate a current 'projection' figure) and the woodlands-junior info (although correct and brilliant - I love the WJ website, it has legendary status in primary schools maths and it departments...) is from the 2001 census. hope this helps
  22. Plus, it's good for your bust, of course.
  23. "Joseph Mills is staying alive, staying alive, staying alive, eh eh eh, staying alive" It's a new chant for the season!
  24. You can actually have quite a good idea about who wrote it (and all other entries, including the arsenal/adebayo gag). That's the beauty of wikipedia, you CAN check the sources (try hitting the 'history' link and then using some basic IP lookup tools). ;)
