  1. Manning has been appalling
  2. Wow - what has happened today? Huddersfield have been excellent but Saints have been woeful. S Armstrong and Adams off at HT - they have been abysmal but the whole team has been very poor with the exception of KWP
  3. Add what wazzuck is having a pop at Bazanu for that goal? It was a lovely goal from Huddersfield and no way can you blame Bazanu for that.
  4. Fair play to Huddersfield. Been much the better team first half. Saints have never got going
  5. Not really been commented on but Smallbone made a huge difference when we came on. Seriously underrated player: we took control of midfield once he came on. Hopefully for the replay not as many changes - but keeping the unbeaten run going is impressive.
  6. Rothwell stepping it up? Really? He has been terrible IMO. HIm and CHarles have ceded total control of midfield to Watford
  7. This is shockingly bad. Alcaraz with the dumbest booking possible. Bunch of strangers. Rothwell was a very weird loan signing and looks appalling....but then so do the rest of the team. This is as bad as it has been for a long time and Watford look like they could score every time they come forward.
  8. Absolutely agree......with 2 pacey wingers you'd be able to see the smoke from files away. Could SImon Gillet still do a job for us? That would be razor sharp then
  9. I cannot remember the last time I got so much enjoyment from watching a Saints side (probably the MLT era under Bally). Watching the first half from here in the US my mouth was agape at the sheer beauty of the play and 5-0 at HT would have been fair. 2nd half was a pretty poor performance - but we kept a clean sheet thanks to Baz who made a couple of great saves. Stephens is getting a lot of flak (and he was very poor with his passing) but the whole team played poorly in the second half. KWP looks brilliant going forward but we leave gaping holes his side that lets the opposition in. 21 unbeaten and 11 unbeaten away - an incredible achievement in a league as competitive as this where anyone can beat anyone else on a given day. Tougher tests lay ahead but we have given ourselves a real chance of automatic promotion and even finishing as champions. For the first time in a long time, it's a great time to be a Saints fan.
  10. Now, now @trousers. Take the flak with good grace.....the naysayers have been proven totally wrong and the flak those supporting the process during the earlier difficulties were hammered. One thing we can all hopefully agree on - it's a bloody brilliant time to be supporting Saints right now. We are a joy to watch and our home record is unbelievable after many years of mediocrity.
  11. Really looking forward to seeing more of him. His control, touch and aggression for a 17 year old were immense. There could be an outstanding player there - very exciting to see one of our own coming through. We have an embarrassment of riches right now - really think we can still catch Leicester
  12. Leroy Whale was another one - went to Bitterne Park school and was highly regarded for a while. Was a bit of a Billy big bollox at school but then that was understandable at the time.
  13. I know quite a few on here are not fans of the style of play under Martin but I am absolutely loving it. This team is a joy to watch and after years of mediocrity, watching a winning team and seeing (from afar) the whole mood around the club change so dramatically in such a short space of time is wonderful. I love the way the team plays out from the back and draws the opposition in, allowing us to break at pace. Obviously we will lose eventually - and it will be interesting to see how the team reacts - but for now I cannot remember the last time I enjoyed watching a Saints team so much (probably Adkins team, and prior to that Nicholl's team. Under Koeman we were functional as opposed to exciting to watch IMO. What a great time to be a Saints fan.
  14. Great first 30 minutes then very poor end to the half. Alcaraz, Smallbone and Mara have been atrocious. Fraser, THB, Stephens and Lumley excellent with some bright spots from the 2 youngsters. Mara could/should have had a hat trick but is terrible in front of goal.
  15. Just as well you;re not the manager then genius - I'm sure Martin will be deeply concerned by what you think
  16. Stephens played well - not that many of the hysterical tarts on here could ever admit it. It's a joy to watch Saints these days and we played Norwich off the park. It's always difficult to score when the opposition park all 11 behind the ball. The fact that the team looked disappointed not to win shows what a huge culture shift there has been in this squad in such a short space of time. Manning also played well - but as he and Stephens are the current scapegoats the joyless buggers on here will never admit that.
  17. WTF are you on about? That was a really sweet attempt. There really are a good number of whining, self-entitled babies on this forum - Saints are well on top and will have to be patient. Manning has played OK, Stephens has played OK but the forum experts have to have their whipping boys.
  18. Going to be a tough test today, especially after already playing 3 games in the last few days. Have a nagging feeling that our run comes to an end today......hopefully very wrong on that!
  19. OMG - that was an incredible day. I was in the RAF at the time and based near Norwich. My girlfriend (now wife of 25+ years) came to see me and we had a few pints in the great Norwich pubs and then THE game. I remember when MOnkou scored there was an almighty bundle in the Saints end and everyone went flying and no-one could believe what had just happened. Amazing day, incredible game and a joy to watch Le Tiss at his majestic best. It really was a pleasure watching Bally's team for that short time period - attacking football, terrible defending but a team very together. Not anticipating a classic tomorrow unlike that game.
  20. Fraser's and Edozie's form (and Kameldeen back in January) makes it all the stranger that we are linked with wingers in January. JUst hope we can keep the winning run going Friday but doubt it will be as easy as the last 2 home games
  21. Not sure about ground it out. A really good game between two in-form teams. Fraser was outstanding when he came on: and Adams was beyond abysmal. Could easily have won 2 or 3 - 0 with a decent striker. 15 games unbeaten now - and you can clearly see the confidence is sky high. Long may it continue!
  22. What do you mean, its going to........
  23. Wow, just wow. So you'd rather be in the Prem stinking up the joint and hoping to scrape some narrow victories? I cannot believe the number of people who seem to want Saints to fail. If you cant enjoy this run I don't see how you'll ever be happy.
  24. Well, f**k off then and watch some other club. You really are quite tiresome with your constant negativity.
  25. You miserable t**t. We're on a 14 match unbeaten run, have won 5 at home in succession for the first time in lord knows how long yet all you are able to do is to complain. Your life must be thoroughly miserable if you cannot enjoy the run we are on.
