Who cares - we're relegated anyway. Maybe if we had played some of our younger, home grown players from the start instead of foreign mercenaries like de Wet and others we would not be in this position. Sounds like they showed more fight and guts than the senior players have done all season.
-
One would hope so Chez....if for no other reason than to try and secure a move away in January.
-
Now that Hants are as good as relegated perhaps they might start playing some more of the home grown crop like Wood and Howells - and put players like Ervine out to pasture. And what on earth was the signing of those 2 Kolpaks about? What a disappointing season and just goes to show money can't buy success....there is no substitute for hunger and team spirit.
-
How many other clubs have made any signings to date? Typically, transfers start to hot up from July 1.....let's face it the players have not even reported back for pre-season training so not much point buying players until nearer that time.
-
Any reason why Briggs is not playing - or Howells for that matter? We appear (from afar) to have way too many mercenaries in the side and out of form players. Disastrous seasona and when will Wood get a chance.....current bowling is atrocious...but then so is the batting!
-
Oh dear.....following from afar it seems like the great spirit and youthful verve from the end of last season has been replaced by journeymen who are just not performing. This was one season too many for Cork and it is a shame that some of the younger players who played with such energy last season are not getting a look in.

I don't have Fox Soccer Pro here in DC (just Fox Soccer) but may upgrade if Saints are shown much in the Championship. The Internet streaming sites ain't the same! LOve it....will have to go to SUmmers in Arlington next season to watch the derby games (if they're shown on TV) as there are bound to be a number of fat, skanky Skates present

Driving home from North Carolina, nearly crashed the car by continually looking at the BBC live updates on my Blackberry. Wife was not happy....but last 10 minutes made up for that! Fantastic win and automatic promotion is now in touching distance....come on Saints, finish off the job!
-
For this season our average attendance is over 21,000 and the inbreds is 15.5K....BIG CLUB, my arse!!!!

I'm with Hypo......from 3,800 miles away I know we were crap until we scored. Couldn't believe how bad the game was and how frequently we gave the ball away. Sammy the Saint texted me to say we were a shower of s***e. Unfrickin' believable! People not at the game saying how poor we are/were - I can only assume they were kidding because no-one can be dumb enough to say how bad we are without watching. Surely?

If pitches are terrible (which by all accounts they seem to be for away games - not seen any games myself though) then it is impossible to play a free flowing, passing game. How anyone can argue that 33 points out of 45 is not good enough is beyond me. Adkins has not had as much money as his predecessor (Pardew) and inherited a low morale, losing team. Now we are a wining side, albeit by the sounds of it somewhat inconsistent, that is scoring, on average, over 2 goals per game and conceding relatively few. Can''t understand the constant grumbling myself.
-
ummm...notice Saint Lard has disappeared. No doubt him and Alps could sit over a pint like grumpy old men finding nothing right with the world! Can't believe we're winning comfortably and people (not even at the game) are still moaning!! If Bournemouth lose tonight and we beat them Saturday we are level on points with 2 games in hand - will that still not be good enough?
-
What a bitter and twisted old man he has turned into ..... and a crying shame. IT would have been so much better to have remembered him for all the great things he did for Saints as opposed to his constant sniping these days.

They will get what they deserve (Liverpool fans). Dalglish was the one who let the rot set in when he managed LIverpool last time (Souness took all the blame, somewhat unfairly) and also led Blackburn on the slippery slope. Hodgson was on to a loser from the start...not the big name that the arrogant Scousers believe is their right and a team in terminal decline. I would love to see Liverpool suffer this season!

He was always polite and exceptionally helpful the small number of times I had dealings with him - including sorting out a ticket office cock-up re. FA Cup Final tickets. he was a true gentleman and I wish him well in what he does next.

Re. the Ashes...go to Willow.tv on INternet. You can get a monthly subscription for $14.99 per month with no long tie in period. Picture quality is excellent and I just hook my laptop up to the big screen TV.

No wonder this place is like the Mary Celeste these days.....what a bunch of moaners and muppets! One defeat and the sky has fallen in, let's forget about the previous 6/7 games and the fact we went from bottom 4 to top 6. Honestly, what a bunch of tarts!

Saints/Pardew fiasco to enter spotlight
washsaint replied to georgeweahscousin's topic in The Saints
Who cares - he was a 3rd rate, billy big B*****s manager and we now have an articulate, potentially excellent manager who has turned this team round. Could not care less about Pardew - he's history (and a good job too) -
Probably already done....but you should try living in America! If they don't use their fingers they stab food as though it is still alive and then saw at it as though it were a piece of wood before swapping hands again.

Dear Lord.....not often I would agree with Skates, but not having read this thread for a long time would it not be humane to put it down? SOme of the stuff on here does not reflect well...who gives a monkey's t**s about what Skates players get up to andf wishing broken legs on a player is just not on.
-
Ironic really...James considered surplus to requirements, better than most in our team, Gillet deemed not good enough but starts every week for a top 7 Championship team whilst we are stuck in bottom 4 of League 1 and we're stuck with the c**p that was Pardew's pet (Hammond).
-
Personally, I think this could turn out to be a master stroke by NC. I would assume that there is more to this than just the on-field performances (and let's face it, Saturday aside they were just not good enough). I thought AP was very poor - his tactics were strange, he shipped out players who could do a job for us and had real favourites who were untouchable. Personally I thought we were going nowhere under AP and believe that NC will make a very good decision on the next manager.

Hesitant To Post This, But Me I'm Out Of Patience
washsaint replied to TijuanaTim's topic in The Saints
LOL at all the heads in the sand...last year it was "we had no pre-season and took time for the team to gel so terrible results are OK", this season it's "pre-season doesn't matter and we're always slow starters"> AP has no Plan B, no tactical nouse and has shipped out players who could do a job for us (like Gillett who is playing at CCC level - way above us!) and kept his favorites in place (Hammond for one). Make no mistake, it will be a long, hard season and we will be VERY fortunate to be in the top 6 with this clown in charge. Oh, for an Eddie Howe in charge (Bournemouth are many places ahead fo us in this League ffs!) -
AP is a s***e manager and his tactics (or lack of) are crap. Make no mistake, we'll struggle to go up this year with that twonk in charge.

So much for the USA doing something this WC
washsaint replied to Thedelldays's topic in General Sports
They added a damn site more than the useless, overweight, slow shower of s***e that is England. England are a disgrace and give up at the slightest adversity....at least the US gave it their absolute all.
