Edozie really does flatter to deceive
-
Mara, lol. Striker - I think not
-
What the heck are those subs about?
-
Smallbone and Stephens were our two best players first half.
-
Benny Hill tune playing at HT - seems quite appropriate bearing in mind what a joke that first half (and team selection) were
-
Just seen the replay for the goal. Terrible defending by THB but went straight through McCarthy's legs - terrible keeping.
-
This walking football is doing my head in. Earlier in the season while we were playing patient football but we would turn the jets on regularly and look really dangerous. That's not happening now. Despite what the Stephens haters may say, he was our best player that half. Brooks, Edozie, FRaser, Charles, THB, BRee, McCarthy were all awful. Deservedly behind and difficult to see where Saints go from here for the rest of the season - we look bereft of ideas, skill or passion. Smattering of boos well deserved at HT.
-
OMG, Saints. You are utter garbage. THB at fault there - terrible defending. Still, I'm sure that's Stephen's fault Stoke deservedly in front. Martin clueless and his treatment of the Academy players is disgusting
-
Well if this is Martin's committed players we are in big trouble......this is as flat a performance as is imaginable. No creativity, no fight, no guile. And Charles is utter s*** - gives the ball away cheaply and is very slow.
-
Edozie is utter s**t and yet more wasted money from Man City
-
What a dog***t team that is. How the hell does Brooks get yet another start despite being dire. And Mara as the lone striker - wtf? I've stood by Martin all season but he seems to be losing the plot - particularly as he simply refuses to play any of OUR young players ahead of failed loanees.
-
🤣Very good CB!
-
What a s*****w the Prem is. Anthony Taylor with a howler decision. GK drops the ball down, Gakpo comes in to tap it in and Taylor blows his whistle. Then goes over to the keeper who collapses like a sack of spuds to feign injury. ANd at no point prior to the keeper dropping the ball was the whistle blown.
-
He'd better start giving the youngsters a run out. Otherwise we'll lose young talent (and they won't come in the first place) as the pathway seems completely blocked. We'd rather loan in s**e like Rothwell and Brooks and play them than our home grown talent. Surely Meghoma cannot be as bad as Manning? Dibling, Bragg, SAA and Meghoma all looked very promising earlier in the season and then were just binned in favor of the unreliables.
-
Yes, beautifully filmed and a very good storyline. Cosmo Jarvis is superb in his role. certainly many times better than watching this s**e
-
Cobblers.....you said you've seen better football in recent times and then can't say when? It is not one paced football - I would rather watch this than what we have been subjected to in recent years (Selles, Jones, Hassenhuttl, Hughes, Pellegrino, Puel, even Koeman who was pragmatic). Last time we had an exciting, entertaining side was under Adkins/Pochettino.

Like when?

What is with the sense of entitlement from some Saints fans? Calling for Martin's head if we don't go up is utterly ridiculous: we have played some of the most exciting football for years. Yes we have been frustrating at times but much of that is to do with the recruitment - not getting a fit striker in the summer was criminal. Add to that, Che (who blows hot and cold), the pointless signings of CHarles, STewart, Rothwell and Brookes (together with the unmitigated disaster signings of ABK, Suleman, Tall Paul, etc. last season) it's a miracle we have done as well as we have this season. I recall the same complainers whining we would be lucky to finish top half at the start of the season. Sacking the manager every 12 months (or sooner) is not a recipe for success and I really enjoy watching our style pf play. Today was not on Martin but on Che, Brookes and AA who had a shocking time in front of goal.
-
What were the points of signing these two in January? Both have been very poor and don't fit into the side at all. That miss from Brooks today was one of the worst I have ever seen. And yet SAA has to turn out for the U18s to get a game and Dibling hasn't had any minutes since he started to look very, very good.
-
Disgusting - what a bunch of bottlers. No way should this team go up - they're pathetic. The genius Wilcox bringing in Rothwell and Brooks (when neither were needed) disrupted the squad. And it's totally disgraceful the young players like SAA and Dibling have barely had a look in despite the players ahead of them underperforming. Edozie and Sulemana are a disgrace to the shirt.
-
And Stu A with a bad injury. Terrible news - our most creative player possibly out for the season. RM's subs have been awful.
-
The subs have been awful. Edozie - rubbish, Sulemana - rubbish, Rothwell - anonymous. We haven't even created anything since we were well on top in the 65th minute. Very, very poor. KWP has been awful today. And there goes the auto chances - Sulemana with non existent defending. HTF does he get on the pitch ahead of Dibling or SAA?
-
THB played a role in that goal (although KWP was a disgrace) through his slowness. So disappointing - Saints should have been out of sight long before their goal. And now Saints are crumbling because they have no backbone. RM's subs (or lack of) have been questionable.
-
Brooks and A Armstrong have been really poor and Che is CHe. I would have Fraser on for Brooks (who has offered no defensive cover and been terrible overall) and switch flanks with Armstrong. How Saints are not 4 up is unbelievable - the usual profligate finishing. That cannot be laid at the feet of RM. This squad would get slaughtered in the Premiership.

The entertainment this season has been incredible - not of all it the right enjoyable mind - and absolutely love the Championship. We got soooooo lucky with that win but they did keep going until the end despite playing very poorly. Perhaps Bednarek should play in midfield instead of Jack. He got us going again at the end. Stephens was superb today but Downes the pick of the bunch by a long way. Very, very strange subs from Martin.
