To be honest, who really cares? Despite the continuous virtue signaling saying how womens football is more exciting, how it's so popular, etc. - it really isn't and is a sub par product compared to mens football. Same can be true of most sports simply because of the genetic differences. And before I get shouted down, then why are so many womens sports up in arms about transgender individuals being allowed to play womens sports (and destroying the true female field)? I wish that mens and womens sports simply were not compared to each other - they are so different. It's fantastic that womens sport has more coverage now and encourages participation but it cannot be compared. The number of teams in this World Cup is ridiculous and dilutes any real competition.

yeah, canceled here in the US too. I thought Jacob was an excellent writer and wrote some tremendous articles. Bit disappointing as he stated a few weeks back he was 100% staying on covering Saints full time. This was before the New York Times sacked all their sports reporters and are getting the AThletic staff to cover. That Athletic article, as ever, is well written and does not mention any "fire sale" but simply states those likely to stay and those who are likely to leave with possible transfer targets added to the mix.

Listening to Selles the club have been hugely disrespectful to him. If what he says is true and that no-one at the club has told him about Martin then this reflects really badly on the club. But then I think we all know the club has gone downhill big time since SR took over and the connection between fans and the club is now tenuous at best. Deeply unprofessional the way they have treated Selles (he is not the right man to take us forward but has tried his best when no-one wanted to touch us with a ten foot barge pole). Our club is in a really dire position and SR have proven to be an utter disaster to this point.

Firstly Adams issues his words to the fans, closely followed by Salisu (who?) and now Djeneppo. So who will be next to say how hard they worked and fought to keep Saints in the top flight and 'we' will fight to make Saints get a rapid return. All rather banal, nauseous and 'PR slick' and don;t think for a moment many of these players who make the 'we' statements will be here next season - who the hell do these players think they are kidding with their PR spiel? You could count on one hand those players that have fought for Saints this season (JWP, Bednarek, Lyanco, Lavia, Perraud spring to mind). FWIW, I reckon the next meaningless statement will come from either KWP or Walcott.

No matter that he is not the most skilful or talented player we have, he has heart. We will need him next season and, as much as it pains me to say it, him and Bednarek at CB could be the experienced pairing we need next season. Really hope 80% of our squad is gone and that Selles gives some game time only to those who are in the plans for next season - and hopefully that includes Ballard, Doyle and Payne. Anything but the abject failures we have had to put up with this season. List could be endless but hopefully: McCarthy, AMN, Elyonoussi, ABK, Salisu, Adams, AArmstrong, Diallo, Tall Paul, DCC, Orsic are completely done with Saints. Will be sorry to see JWP and KWP go but they have both been gutless this season too and Lavia is just way too good for this s**t team.

In what has been a truly horrific season, I have to say I have been massively impressed with both Jacob Tanswell of the Athletic and Benjy at the Echo. Their reporting and in-depth analysis has been absolutely brilliant and shows good journalism is not dead just yet. If only Saints were half as professional and diligent as these 2......

Just seen the incredible stat that Newcastle have had over 30 touches in our box second half to Saints.....ZERO. Selles is such a coward and so cautious/afraid of losing that this is exactly what happens every time. Utter fraud

I just want to applaud Selles for his bravery. In yet another must win game he has put out a side to strike fear in the opponents hearts and minds. Bournemouth will be quaking in their boots at the thought of facing Eliuseless, AA and Walcott as a front 3. Terrifying.
