  1. Unfortunately. 2 mistakes from 2 young players: Harwood-Bellis really should have cleared that and Bazunu absolutely has to save that. Another game unbeaten and this seems to be a freak year in the Championship in terms of the top 4 winning all the time. Still rather this than the Prem with that absolute joke of a VAR decision in the Palace game - nearly 2 minutes after the incident they give a penalty.
  2. OH please! Your stats are throughly misleading and twisted to make him seem like a revelation. We have conceded very few since early in the season when we were very porous. THis has all the hallmarks of the 'Danny Rohl was a genius and things went downhill after he left'. Lets face it none of us know what an assistants impact truly is.
  3. Such a miserable bunch on here. Yes, that 2nd half was poor but we're now 9 unbeaten....we are not going to win every game and will lose some we are expected to win. But this is a 46 game season, not a 17 game season. We are doing well after the 4 losses on the bounce. As ever people focus on the "lost" 2 points - does that mean as WBA are obviously now a world class outfit that we "won" 3 points as surely WBA should have beaten us. DItto Leeds. Get a life for goodness sake
  4. With all the furore over Everton, Chelsea and City it is clear the Prem is corrupt and money is at the root of anything. It's become harder and harder for clubs to compete without huge investments and likely will only get worse. I have thoroughly enjoyed the Championship so far - it's been entertaining, no VAR, we are actually winning games and scoring goals and no 'champagne' clubs: just proper clubs with anyone capable of winning on the day. Yes, we need promotion for financial, and to keep hold of players, reasons but the Championship is so superior to the Prem for sporting reasons.
  5. Esruu...does he still drive a cab? Poor old Keith. Got done up like a kipper by Mike wilde. Who can ever forget those 'lets go Wilde' t shirts? Total cringe times but quite hilarious with the reports from pre season in Sweden.
  6. Blimey, so many posters and so many memories! Completely forgot about Franks Cousin: wonder whatever happened to him? Catgate was one to remember too!
  7. Over the years there have been so many characters that were central to this, and the SaintsForever, forum. In the absence of anything to complain about right now from a Saints perspective, if you were to name 4 posters that used to be prolific and are conspicuous by their absence who would they be? Mine are: 1) Dubai_Phil - who could ever forget his countless tales of golfing prowess and name dropping. Didn't he end up living in Poland? 2) Guided Missile - always managed to wind up so many on here (and SaintsForever) with his posts. People just could not stop themselves responding! 3) Bad Boy Saint - complete plonker - whatever happened to him? 4) Help Me Rhonda - less said about this one the better! It seems incredible that so many years have been passed since first posting on Andy Mintrams forum (Marching In?) through SaintForever (who could ever forget LeggGate?) to this iteration. Reckon many of the posters who have remained on the forums must be, like me, mid 50s and older now!
  8. We get most of the games here in the US as, for some reason, Saints are typically chosen by ESPN+ as the live game most weeks (or so it feels).
  9. I don;t - watching the snoozefest that is West ham vs Everton and the quality is non-existent and teams play not to lose rather than to win. This year we have won more games already than we managed all of last season. We have already nearly scored as many goals as we did last season. We go into games knowing that we have a chance of winning in every game. Proper fans and proper stadiums. Yes, we know the money implications of not being in the Prem are significant (as is holding on to the better players) but I do feel the Championship is far more fun and interesting. The Premiership is over-hyped and only a handful of sides can truly be competitive because of the financial advantage they have.
  10. Brilliant! Not sure on any conspiracy theories - just think he's a bit rubbish!
  11. Oh, you mean like we wipes the floor with Leeds the week before. Loads of self entitle numpties on here these days. Totally disrespectful to Rotherham, especially their keeper who had a blinder and likely will never play that well again. We will win some, lose some and draw some. Yes, the style of walking football is baffling at times but the hatred - yes hatred - spewed at certain players and the manager is disgusting. Face it, its a game of soccer, not life and death.
  12. Sh**e club, sh**e players, s***e manager. The whole nonsense of buying and loaning man city players is ***E. Bellingham looks as bad as Holgate. Yet none of our own youngsters can get a look in. Done with this club
  13. Scored twice for Reading tonight + 2 assists. Yet we persist with strikers who could not score in a brothel and are bereft of talent. Yet another shameful decision by the club - why would any youngster stay at Saints when crap like tonight are always played? Mind you, with this clown in charge he'd probably play Dom at CB
  14. Best wishes to you and your family @Whitey Grandad. Puts football into perspective, really not that important
  15. Obviously it is very, very early days and the team needs to bed in before sweeping judgements can be made but some initial observations: 1) Downes looked awful yesterday. Hopefully it was rustiness/being played out of position and he improves 2) Holgate. Nothing to say but appears an utterly dreadful footballer. Everton fans appear to have been right. Just hope it was rustiness/getting used to the team 3) Manning. Not sure if it is the system or him but can't seem to defend particularly well 4) Ryan Fraser. Hailed as the new messiah based on a subs appearance but completely anonymous yesterday (but then so were all Saints players) 5) Russell Martin. No Plan B and strange selections, players out of position, etc. We got away with it in early games but not yesterday. Easy to see how we could become very easy to play against Add to that, the serial failures such as Mara and Stuart Armstrong (why? Why not have given Ballard or Doyle an opportunity instead of loaning Ballard out or at least play Mara as a striker?) On paper, we should have the strongest squad in the division but some early worrying signs. Hopefully over the next month or so everything gels.
  16. Should never have been signed - you only have to listen to Everton fans to know he is not a footballer. but he was far from being alone in being utter s***e today. Every player was
  17. Holgate is utter shite. Mara starting.. why? Not good enough. Could sub all 11, terrible.
  18. Holgate looks utter shite
  19. What a F****** awful signing. Major attitude issue and cobblers since he downed tools at Bournemouth. If he's a replacement for tella who has 2 years left that is a f****** disgrace.
  20. And 2 wins - feels strange winning more games than we lose! Much better feeling than we have had to put up with for several years now. Championship is deffo more fun and first time in over 3 years we have won 2 on the bounce away from home. Now we just need to pick up good from at home and could be a cracking season.
  21. The 2 Armstrong have been awful as has Edozie. Zero attacking threat
  22. Apparently Boscombe have bid 13 million for Che - bite their hand off.
  23. 3 youngsters started. the others are seasoned pros and are showing, yet again, they are just not good enough. How McCarthy ever gets a game is beyond me. Embarrassing and the honeymoon period did not last long!
  24. Nope, he said players and staff - I';m sure they have some female staff
