where have we said "we want it now" and where have we encouraged each other? It's you hapy clappers that shadow each other from thread to thread posting your boring "In AP we trust" and "I'm just happy to have a club" tosh. We have different opinions - live with it bucko. I'm not a "Yoof" i'm just a fan that wants the best for my team and have not resigned myself to accepting 2nd best.

Maybe I should have worded the initial post differently Micky yes, what I meant on reflection was that I would not be best pleased if it transpired that the original reason given for the failure to sign Jaidi was not true, which it looks likely is the case. It can be argued from both sides till we are blue in the face how this information came to light and I appreciate it was not directly from the club in the form of an official announcement. I cannot say in certainty that it even came indirectly from the club, but I am pretty sure that it has, one way or another. For that reason, I am bemused as to why (possibly) someone from the club has said the deal is (all but?) dead due to work permit issues when they have not even applied for one yet! They may have a very strong feeling that they will be refused a permit, however, as it has also been pointed out from many posters, there is an open appeal process which is very thorough and there is a good chance (seeing as he has resided and played in England for the last 5 years) that the appeal will be successful. So the fact that the club are not willing to even bother trying (from what the Echo have indirectly reported) is somewhat confusing? I believe there is other information they are not telling us about which is an underlying reason. I would like to know why they would not like to inform us of this information as it would put a lot of peoples mind's at ease I believe.

Completely agree with this. I really dont see why we dont atleast try to get the permit. It is not as if we are trying to sign some 13 year old Thai boy who plays Sunday football! This is a player who has been living in England and playing at the top levels in English football for the last 5 years. Ok he may not have played over 75% of Tunisia's games in the last 12 months, but he used to be the Tunisian captain for gods sake! Dark Sotonic Mills pointed out that he should be able to register for citizenship now anyway, so something isnt right that they a) believe they will be rejected and b) wont even bother trying!

I think the point that SR is making though is that from what has been mentioned, Jaidi knew he would not get a permit. So why is his agent touting him around in the UK if Jaidi knows he will not be able to get a permit? This is all superficial though seeing how DSM has pointed out the rules whereby if you reside in a country for 5 years, you are entitled to apply for citizenship (or something along those lines) so he shouldnt need a WP! Im with SR on this one. The reason given (WP Issues) does not stack it with me. There is another reason that they are hiding.

Agree with your post mate. I do not believe we have been given the real reason as to why the Jaidi deal fell through either. I followed this point up with the fact we have been misinformed and mislead by previous regimes and that I hoped we would not suffer the same under ML's leadership. God smite me down for saying that. I am glad we are under ML's guidance, believe me I am! But if he wants to make SFC a successful business, it needs to be in the Premiership benefitting from the improved attendances, Sky money and higher marketing ability. Without bringing in players capable of pushing us up the league, then this will not happen. Remember, we have two strikers in Rasiak and Saga, who do not wish to be here. So we cannot really rely on them. Add that to the fact we have lost David McGoldrick, Bradley Wright Phillips, Andrew Surman, Stern John, Nathan Dyer, John Paul Seize, Zoltan Liptak, Jason Euell plus Im sure a few i have missed out on, we have a team a LOT weaker than last year. We need players and the sooner this is rectified, the quicker we can start moving up the league heading to the Premiership where we will become a profitable company!

Right so what you are essentially saying is that in theory this is no more than one big elaborate rumour? Deluded? I think you are yes. How would we know a contract was offered if we had to rely on 'Fred' who is ITK as he walked passed the training ground and happened to see someone who he thought was Jaidi?! How would we know a medical was passed? This is things you can only really know if you are involved within the club and are privy to this information. Micky please point out where I have said THE CLUB HAS LIED TO ME I have said I agreed with the post I quoted and that I am also starting to think that the club have said it's a work permit problem to save face. I then went onto say I would not be happy if this is a covering story. I did not say "I am not happy as this IS a covering story did I?" No they have not commented on it officially as I have previously stated, but someone at the club has spoken. Hearsay is different. Otherwise I could start a big rumour that Ronaldo was seen undertaking a medical at SFC... and before you know it, it would be all over the press. Thats not how it works Micky. Journo's do research you know, they do not just sit listening to rumours. To state that a player has passed a medical and has been offered a contract comes from sources within the club who KNOW this stuff, not people making up rumours willy nilly or 'hearsay' as you call it! So my point does remain, that if the club have said (officially - directly or unofficially - leaked to the press who publish the story) that the deal is off due to him failing to get a WP and it transpires that this is not the case. I am behind SFC, the team and the owner 100%, but having had to put up with lies and dishonesty for so long in the running of our club, surely I am entitled to be a little wary at first?!
