  1. I got a free ticket to the Saints bar seats - was rammed with Chelsea fans around me - by the 3rd goal they were happy to sing and cheer which was annoying but there you go. Loads of empty seats around me there as well.. Mate in the family centre took his son (a massive Saints fan). He is a Forest fan - said there is a palpable sense of despair / malaise here...
  2. Sounds a bit weird but I was sat next to him in Pi Winchester last night and he looked a bit low on confidence. Was on target with pizza slices into his mush mind you I did say to my boy "you saw him score a hat trick for us at Wembley" after he left. Fundamentally a good player but clearly not fancied by any of our managers, however since Koeman I don't really trust any of their opinions...
  3. I'd like to see him put a word in the ear of Inui - though it's another midfielder ;-)
  4. Probably Virgil in terms of the player, though the other two you mention were also excellent. Going back to our first 1m player Alan Mcloughlin pretty much all our record buys have been cr*p.
  5. To go back to the original thread title, a mate of mine is looking after his dog and it's better than football than he is
  6. did this last year for the Milk Cup - was bloody brilliant!
  7. Because I'm old and fat I have a personal trainer. He's also a Saints fan and he and I have both agreed that the players showed signs of being unfit (late conceding of goals - losing concentration - all signs of fatigue) and in the case of Redmon he looks like he has a bit of a tum which wasn't there when he signed. If he can get them fitter and playing with freedom we'll just stay up I think.
  8. ha ha ha. I said exactly this in my alpine bar this evening
  9. I met a app provider that creates stadium apps last year. As you say ericb, those are the only features I can think of that were worthwhile, though this app provider offers an AR thing where you can hold your phone up and get a better experience e.g. for Arianna Grande's O2 show you would have got additional digital content - so for football you could potentially get live player stats that sort of thing. Not sure how much anybody would use it, the yout probably would but then again I'm getting too old, one of the reasons I stepped down from running DLBi Commerce ;-) However, our in stadium wifi is ****e anyway so it's all pointless
  10. I'm actually not using my Dad's season ticket near Leslie tonight as, if I get overcome by the emotion of a 2-1 loss (after having been 1 up and bossing the game until we take off an attacker to try and shut up shop), I don't want the opportunity to lose my rag at him...
  11. this - it was dreadful until we got Marcus, Cortese and Pardew then Adkins. We were lucky to be able to buy Ricky and be the biggest spenders in League 1
  12. No, they read top to bottom so maybe they haven't noticed we're 17th
  13. Agree, and this made me laugh out loud so thanks
  14. Boufal has looked good like Ricardo Fuller occasionally looked good. He's surrounded by utter ****e. Tadic has been pretty poor for 12 months at least and I would argue 18 of the last 24. Either needs a major change or age has caught up as it has with Davis. Walcott doesn't really excite me to be honest, feels like Kevin Davis re-sign. Sturridge I would take in a heartbeat if he wasn't made of glass, but he is.
  15. thank god we got rid of Eric Black
  16. in a ****e game, the 2 clearest chances other than Man U’s offside effort. Long denied by De Gea’s toe (should have scored). JWP into the corner, decent save
  17. yes. exterminate
  18. well he is back and forward to Spain every single week so either knackered or head elsewhere
  19. the problem with Chinese owners is that half an hour later you want another one
  20. Do we really think the board got rid of Puel because of the rumblings on internet forums? It'll be because of something behind the scenes (e.g. players unhappy / coaching staff raising concerns / Les falling out with him) or, and possibly key, falling ticket sales / poor season ticket renewals. The fact that flipping Puel for MP hasn't worked is down to the club again, not the fans, and of course if people vote with their feet or the real cash cow, the TV money, is in jeopardy due to the threat of relegation, the board will act again and find a new manager. It's always about the money, always. Blaming the fans is missing the point, it can't be our fault as we have absolutely no power in the running of the club, other than to stop going. Would have been interested to see a Puel side with Pelle and Mane personally - much as the football was boring as hell last year, the suspicion that the managers are trying to make a silk purse from a sow's ear is looking very likely now...
  21. so, for all the worrying about being relegated, people like Billy Sharp are for me real football and if we go down I would take 11 players with the commitment and drive of him over our current overpaid shower of ****e. he clearly gave a ****, and to be honest for my 50 quid that is what I want more than anything else.
  22. this. On the upside my garden borders are looking a lot better and I managed to work off my hangover
  23. I have genuinely just seen Boufal in the kebab shop in Weeke, north Winchester so I’ll be surprised if he’s involved tomorrow. His mate left with 2 pizzas and Boufal had some polystyrene cartons that normally hold kebab meat or chip specials :-)
  24. He looks like somebody who hates his job fullstop no matter who he plays for
  25. Reintegrate him. Footballer looking after himself and a bit of a **** shock
