  1. All we can do for now is Welcome Gudio to the club and hope he can benefit from a front line built around him. We don't have much choice as if he fails, that might be it for our Premier league stint. So I'm hoping he can bang in enough goals to keep us up!
  2. This is the trickiest of fixtures, and i find myself partially agreeing with both of you. Although not as high a priority as it would be in a normal year, i wouldn't drop McCarthy, I would however rest Romeu for the yellow card risk. As our central defenders aren't exactly on top form anyway, I'd be tempeted to bring in Alfie Jones at CB, and hope he can emulate Obafemi's perforance and provide competition. But agree on resting Cedric and Bertrand.
  3. If it helped the displays, I would. The pressing and harrying was a great things to see. Or in our case, two swallows and winter. But yeah, more focused on the signings now. Very Sorry to hear this happened to you. Not a good attitude for SFC to take wherever you sit on the Total support/Sack Pellegrino debate. Hopefully the display made up for it somewhat. I can't provide anymore evidence that the picture used was not of the Titanic, or anything to do with it, than i already did on this thread, and a quick google image search will show that. But hey, people want to twist that into something sinister, and then turn it up a notch with references to Apartheid or the Holocaus,t I can't stop them. I was glad to see people commenting online during the match with their thoughts/fears/protest actions, but i was even more delighted to see such an attacking, battling display for Saints. If we had seen even 10% of that attitude transmitted on the pitch this season, we wouldn't find ourselves in the relegation zone. And of course with a display like that , i didn't expect mass protests to burst out in the stadium, when there was a genuine chance to beat spurs. The true tests (IMO) will be Brighton and WBA. Win those and we have a chance to stay up. The players today showed that they have the ability to do that if utilised properly, so Pellegrino must now show that he can organise the team to produce that. We still are on the worst winless run since 1998, and we are still 18th. I still think Pellegrino is the wrong man for the job, and today's performance showed we have been mismanaged to way below our potential level. But as i still want us to win more than i want Pellegrino to lose his job, hopefully he retains some of that fight for the upcoming games. Last word goes to Michael Obafemi. Such a nice surprise to see a young Saints player come on and play with no fear!
  4. Hi all, So i've collated all the social media links i can think of - please add any below if I've missed any! Remember, no matter what shape or form your protest takes, if you making one and tweeting/Social Media posting about it, remember to include the #SaintsFC hashtag, so it shows up in search results for the club. I would also recommend the #PellegrinoMustGo tag, but that is completely up to the individual. I'll be posting a link of social media outlets in a dedicated thread, let's hope after today's match the board will finally see sense and listen to reason! contacts: BBC football main page: Send a text to 81111 (sometimes changes, worth checking on the day) Twitter: Use the hashtag #bbcfootball Facebook: BBC Sport Solent Sport: Text 81333 (start your message with the word SOLENT), tweet @solentsport, email solent.sport@bbc.co.uk. 5 Live Sport:Phone 0500 909 693 Sms 85058 Twitter @bbc5live Facebook http://www.facebook.com/bbc5live Sky sports: https://twitter.com/SkySportsPL https://www.facebook.com/SkySportsFootball If anyone has further details for email/text/phone please add them to a thread and hopefully we can add a a sticky on the day. 6. Thanks! As i said, I am open to any level of protest and all suggestions. As much as people are comfortable with! See, now that's something that i would have never considered, but could be effective. Thank you! There are even more targets when you think we only need someone short term. Bring in a well known manager on a 6 month contract for 10 mil, with no expectation of doing anything other than keeping us up, and then being free to move on afterwards with his reputation enhanced! A shop window for future premier League employemnt, but one that benefits us as well. And don't be too hard on K Billy. Trust me, he isn't any keener on MP than you or I, he just is worried about our ability to bring someone in. I'm with you there, I think the posters i had made might be more effective on social media. Love the boycott of purchases idea, and if you have any poster designs please let me know! Indeed, It worked with Lowe and Branfoot. It can work now! Getting the word out on this is vital.
  7. First of all, i'll address this one. No-one from the club has 'stitched me up'. So no vendetta. I'm in the same position as I've always been, hearing reports from the training ground, being given our transfer targets early, (which ranged from the unrealistic household names, to the overpriced MP picks), and being leaked to occasionally. When the picture started to come together, i decided that rather than tease tidbits, i'd try an do something to halt the slide we now find ourselves in. I'm not the only one, individuals at the club saw this coming a mile away. 'De Boer in slow motion' was one phrase used. But I do find it slightly bizarre that people look for a conspiracy here. We have the worst form of any club in all four divisions. The worst. We are above the relegation zone only on goal difference, and could drop in to it by the time of the spurs match on Sunday. As i forewarned, certain members of the hierarchy have demonstrated a disconnect to our situation, and fans are charged the 6th highest amount for a season ticket to watch our mismanaged side bumble in to the championship, with 15 games to go. You want my angle? That's my angle. Trying to get as many people together as we can to stop this situation before it's too late. I have no personal desire for notoriety. which is why i have asked for anyone with connections to the ugly inside/Daily Echo/Sotonions Other groups I don't know to spread the word. If people have better ideas, i am all for them. If you think it's hard to replace a manager with a better one in the Premier league, try doing it in the championship. Madness. The reason for any toxic atmosphere is our dreadful performances under a clueless out of his depth manager, whose only 4 wins have come against sides (Everton, under Unsworth, West Ham under Billic, West Brom under Pulis, and Crystal Palace 3 days in the repair job after sacking De Boer) with managers who have performed at a simliar level as him and have been replaced or sacked. And now you want to lay that at the fans door. Managers can either manage at this level or they can't. Pellegrino can't. Thanks for the heads up! I contacted my friend and he has corrected it for me. It's not actually the Titanic though. Imagine if someone thought that and massively overreacted! Oh dear! It's not the Titanic. It's not the titanic. And I asked a friend to design 4 posters on me, based around different slogans i came up with, 4 A4, and 1 A3. Because not everyone feels or thinks the same, i had 5 posters for varierty so people could pick and choose, and encouraged others to post their own designs. It's not the Titanic. Here's a few visual clues that might help out: 1. It's Daytime. 2. No Icebergs. 3. Ship in one Piece. 4. Man alone in lifeboat (Women and Children first) 5. Wrong dimensions/features/colour. 6. No Kate Winslet. 7. It's a stock photo of a fictional event used on motivational websites from Mexican real estate to startup advice. NotTitanic by Guan Tou, on Flickr But Just for you sensitive souls, I've placed some monopoly money in a fund for non-existent widows and orphans affected by this hypothetical tragedy. We even held a very tasteful Imaginary memorial service, although Jason Puncheon ruined it by turning up in Jeans and Trainers. Slide4 by Guan Tou, on Flickr
  8. In the interests of balance, and so both threads stay on topic.

  10. Hello all. So here we are. 14 games to go (if you discount the inevitable beating we take against spurs). Bottom of the form table, and above the relegation zone on goal difference. But it's not too late. If we can make our voices heard, online, in person, and across the media, we can help to halt his perilous slide. But we need to work together on this. No-one is asking you to be a sheep. No-one is asking you to agree with every wish your fellow fan has. But if you want Pellegrino and his negative thinking out of our club, i'm asking for your help. We will be live on sky, at a prime viewing time for football fans across the nation. Let's make the headline something other than a thrashing by spurs. If you're going to the match, and think Pellegrino should leave, I would ask you to protest, whatever form that may take. You could print off one of the posters below, or take one of your own design. You could chant against Pellegrino. You could boycott all purchases inside the stadium and tweet/text Solent/5Live/Sky/SaintsFC about it. Even if everyone does something small, 25,000 people making small gestures leaves a huge impression. If you're going to the stadium, but not attending the match, you can still make a difference. If you have the time, you could speak to the sky cameras, or hand out posters. Or just speak to your fellow fans, about what you are doing, or how they can help. Even in small groups, photos from numerous fans making it clear that their family/mates won't be setting foot inside the stadium until Pellegrino has gone, will send a clear message. If you are watching or listening online you can be vital to our cause. You can flood social media and sky/bbc with Messages. You can inform Saints fans who might not know about the protest, and see if they have ideas that can help. I don't know people on not 606, sotonions, Ugly inside, Daily echo, saintslist, but you might! And we need everyone possible on this. The point is we can make a difference. When i spoke of the disconnect between the brand our execs promote and the reality of our situation, people were sceptical until Kreuger spoke out. When i said Pellegrino was planning to waste money on bang-average targets, some claimed the the manager doesn't pick targets until we bid nearly £20 Million for a Monaco reserve. So when i say that the one thing that can convince this regime to replace Pellegrino is a sign from the fans that would damage the 'Happy united small club' image we try to promote, I need you to trust. There was more robustness on the boards when Lowe and Branfoot were ousted, and we have a national audience this time. I'll make a separate post with links to media outlets for Sunday. I'll also make a separate thread for people who think protests are a waste of time, so this topic and that one can stay on topic. If you have any ideas on how we can improve or spread the word on this, please reply below. This is our last chance while the window remains open, and we need all the suggestions we can get! In the meantime, please, please spread the word to all your fellow saints fans who may be interested, in person and online. We need the word out, and as many people who can help as possible! We can do this. COYS! 11. I'll have 5 A4 posters on a dedicated thread tomorrow. A talented friend has designed them for me, I'l let the fans on here decide. also more ideas on in person/online protests. If people are wondering why A4, it's because people can print them off at home/work, easy to conceal, and a banner will be impossible to agree upon, design, and print out by Sunday, and is easily torn/confiscated.
  12. Against Everton, who were effectively protesting Unsworth with on-pitch performances. Against a hopeless Billic at west ham. Against a Crystal palace side only 3 days into recovery mode after De Boer wrecked the place, Against a West Brom side managed by and out-of ideas, out-of-time Pulis. Notice a pattern? We can just about scrape wins past sides that are terrible and realise they have to change their manager. That's it. You want to celebrate a point against Watford the only other team in comparable form to us (though still above us in the form table)? Before anyone looks, no, i was not suggesting Silva as our manager earlier in the season either. Madness. If these are the games which we see the spark, it is obvious that Pellegrino must go. Not after the cup game, not at the end of the window, let us write off the spurs thrashing as his last deplorable act, and wash away his stain on Sunday night, to begin anew on Monday.
  13. Indeed. The Walcott and Sturridge 'bids' were just a smokescreen anyway. More lowered expectations from the Board. "Well we tried, Theo just wouldn't come to such a small club". Meanwhile, our '2nd choice' below par center forward from Monaco becomes accepted, even though he's less than Bang average and picked directly by Pellegrino (though a couple of weeks back when i warned of this, people 'informed' me Saints managers don't pick players. Huh.). Meanwhile, more and more 'easy mark customers' post how great it will be to go down and see slipping through the leagues as a badge of honour. Change up or go down, this is panning out just right for relegation.
  14. Judging by the tame way in which we're going down? No.
  15. I meant Sunday, obviously.
  16. There is one strategy that might work... Instead of allowing focus to briefly touch on one aspect of protest, make it multi-factor. The sky cameras are there, and need to fill time, before and after the match next Saturday. 4pm is prime time on a sunday, so the world will be watching. This strategy also allows for people who wish to protest in different ways. First of all, for those that wish to boycott the game. Wouldn't have to to be a million man march, but if you could get 1000+ fans turning up outside the stadium from 3pm onward, and handing out 'pellegrino must go/Pellegrino out' A4 banners/chanting against MP (while not intimidating anyone who wouldn't take a banner, otherwise club would just shift focus to that), sky would be straight on it, as would BBC, in their pre match coverage. If they stayed outside and sung throughout the match while spurs tonk us, even more so. And if they are still there even after the match, joined by fans who have just witnessed us lose again, what an impact. For those attending, anti MP songs for those to wish for him to leave of course, also A4 banners (easier to conceal). I've asked a friend more skilled with photoshop to knock up 5 designs for a preview on Tuesday (for example #LoveSaints but i'm not down with the clown, Pellegrino Must Go, with MP in clown makeup). The cameras will eat this up, and could also be used throughout the 90 mins and be half time talking point. Again, no intimidation to fellow fans who don't join in, or the whole thing falls apart. At the same time, saints fans on the web could flood social media with posts on the subject with the #PellegrinoMustGo . Phone ins/HYS beofore the match on BBC solent, 5 live, Sky, Echo etc all dominated by saints callers and texts. I've also asked my friend to knock up gifs/videos with stats on our terrible Manager, to show why we are protesting. But this is just my idea. If fellow Saints fans are interested, let me know.
  17. 15 Matches left. 15.
  18. I Could see that team winning 3-1. We will most likely lose 2-0. If so, The board have to sack Pellegrino. Even amongst his few supporters on here, a cup run was held up as a reason to keep Pellegrino around. If we lose to Watford in both league games, once during their dodgy patch, then we won't beat them in the league. No point in prolonging his tenure after that point.
  19. "Southampton FC are delighted to announce the new phase 2 redevelopment of their premium matchday experience. Enjoy the very best views, comfort and entertainment that the Premier League has to to offer - All from the comfort of the championship. See how #WeMarchOn despite new challenges, with complimentary tours of the all new 'Hall of Pledges' included with every hospitality package". For £150 pp Fans can even Live out the 'Player experience' and dine with Saints Legends Ralph Kreuger and Les Reed. Related Content: Pellegrino: We've turned a corner (Downwards). The Boss reflects on a difficult period and speaks on his excitement about next season's local derby.
  20. Portsmouth fans. Fans of other teams in the bottom half.
  21. To the tune of 'Lord of the dance' "Pell-egri-no, it's time for you to go, Just leave quick, please don't make it slow, Leave by boat or plane, we don't care how, Are you listening Mr Gao?"
  22. He was here, flew off, stayed away during our terrible festive form, and flew back completely out of touch with the fans mood for the 2nd of January interviews, which were tone deaf and have left the club scrambling for good PR #LunchWithPlayers. And as you've alluded to, yes staff have been hacked off with a lack of communication/refusal of funds for projects over here, where the club is, compared to money earmarked for various investments far afield, which take up large amounts of attention from execs and get immediate answers on decisions, as opposed to several weeks wait for 'home' procredure.
  23. You spout some rubbish on here mate, everyone knows you need to perfect the terminology of the five pledges before you can address on-field matters.
  24. So, as everyone can see I have been very harsh and unfair in my representations of the board, they are bloody hard at work sorting out our situation. And not on meaningless PR guff, either. While some 'fans' (let's face it, probably pant wetting panic merchants), are concerned that we are only above the relegation zone on goal difference bottom of the so-called form table, Ralph has the terminology of the pledges on his desk. ON HIS DESK - SO STOP MOANING. Now all he needs is a month to undergo the torturous process of altering 20 words using grammarly (it ain't easy being a chairman of a small club) before releasing the final proofs and jetting off for another 3 months. Which will completely revolutionise our tactics and positional sense on the pitch. I mean, if we get the document out in February. We 'probably' will. But you've got to understand, 30 days is a tight turnaround time for a couple of pieces of A4. As you can see, this resolves the issue with the team management and club direction, so stop your talk of social media disruption and chanting against the manager and board, and get behind the team FFS you bunch of crybabys. It's worked for 22 games so far!
  25. The trouble is at the club, people have roles and titles, and then actual functions. Too many people filling in, ad hoc powers, and excuses for poor institutional structure and communication. It's why they fear the brand being attacked, it's an empty shell now, with only the slogans projecting any sense of coherent planning. A long distance from when we were being mentioned as pioneers of structure (in the football world at least).
