Redknapp, we all hate but we all know we missed out, don't we?
Guan 2.0 replied to Noodles34's topic in The Saints
He was given more than 90,000 to spend, one example was the striker who went to Birmingham (Robbie Blake I think?) Who we bid over 500,000 for, and the fact he wasted his time ****ing over Clinton 'o' Morrison who amd eit clear he wanted to stay in London. In the end all the available tragets were gone, and Fuller was his half arsed attempt to do something. The fact remain that Redknapp would never have done a job here, as he himself said, he realised he didn't want to be here on on day one and 'his heart was never in it'. But still took us down in the bottom spot Great guy. He's nothing more than a rent a quote knock off nigel, with friends in the media. Oh wait, I forgot he's trying to be a 'proper' manager now he thinks he might get the England job: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Xm8DyQGY-1k -
I guess I've been Labelled as ' Hammond Knocker' even though 40 minutes before the game, I wrote on the the build up thread and a few minutes after the match... Like GeorgeWeahscousin, my opinion of Hammond this season has not been an irrational personal issue, it's been his lack of form. Whereas last season his game was built around the simple things, short passes, making himself available, visibly encouraging others, before today, for me, he had cut an unwilling and isolated figure in midfield. If this form had continued through to January, I think he would have been a candidate for replacement. But happily, as others who where at the match have said on here (and text into Solent), he was noticeably much better, and put in a captains performance for the first time this season. I don't think any true Saints fan would have a problem with one of our players playing well!

Wish I could have gone today, Sounded an excellent match, with Chaplow and Hammond running the midfield. Shame that Barnard and Lambert had to come off, would have Loved for Rl to grab a goal, or Guly to grab a few more! Holmes sounded class, let's hope for more of the same on Tuesday night. Also sounds like Bompey have had a few injuries, most importantly to their GK. Their new keeper sounds like a bumbaclart so hopefully this will put paid to their ambitions. We can even really screw them up by lending them forecast.

I think it's a game which will be incredibly tight, with whichever side willing to do the most WGS style physical pressing coming out as victor. And even though I've been critical of him recently, I think it's a game where Hammond can really step up and show his Mettle. Or I could be massively wrong, and we might smash them 7-0 in display of Dutch/Brazilian total pass-move and score football, with Hammond having a stinker. I don't care either way, as long as we win.

First off, I did think that thread was was stated by you, becasue the link you provided opened on your post, but looking at it again, yes, you were responding to it. And there are around 50% in those links that don't see Hammond as the midfield general you think his form entails. As for some of the stuff you've written about my wanting to throw cash at the situation, or thinking we're still in the prem, or most laughably 'bashing our players every time we lose', you couldn't be further from the truth. In the past I've been accused of being a 'happy clappy' for urging caution in after people knee jerk to defeats, especially since I believe players who drop down just for money are likely to act, not just appear mercenary in our opinion. I've also repeated that it's because Hammond has not hit the heights of his previous form (Beacuse I don't have problem with him, just the way he's been playing), he should be a contender to be moved on. Which is what this thread was about, and you now seem me to want to identify targets for SFC before posting and opinion on a harmless thread. WTF? This is off laod thread, not recruitment thread. But it's no secret we've approached the likes of Stock and Danns, most likely to fill our need for a Fonte (Prepared to drop down for long term Ambition) style midfielder. Indecently the only bit of ITK I've ever heard was when Danns was turned down because he suddenly increased his wage demands. Which in my book was a good decision. But it's not so much this but about Hammond, he has constintently underpormed this season, (and by your own admission, has not been as good as last year). He is when on top form, a very good League one player. This season he has been an average League one player, who has struggled to impose himself even on League two Shrewsbury (Discounting the Wilkins era, when most of the squad was universally awful). We need players that can consistently be very good league one players, or conceivably decent championship players. And I have watched Hammond this Season, unlike Harding, (who I believe could do a job in the championship), he has not had patchy form as much as mostly bad games. You mention the guly 'hole', but how often will our seemingly fixed 4-4-2 (seeing as the players didn't respond well to 4-5-1) enable that? And whilst he is our captain now, seemingly no one in our sqaud is immovable under Adknins, as you pointed out, Puncheon poves that. All IMHO of course.

The entirely speculative 'replacements for Puncheon' thread

Papa Waigo. More of a striker, but offers goalscoring (and offside threat). -
No offence, but those links lead to a one thread that you have started about how great Hammond is, a thread were roughly 50% of the peeps say that Hammond is either out of form or not playing to the standards of last season (I happen to agree, hence why I said he's gone backwards). And one more where it was specifically stated how poor he has been This Season. Whilst neither are 'proof' in the debate, it is proof that both you and I are not alone in thinking these things (called opinions), even if we differ. I think you'll find in football (and life) that people will see things Differently. I've been to several matches this season (and yes, heard a few on the radio), and Hammond has not pulled his weight for me. He frequently misplaces simple passes, is less than anonymous in urging others, and for a 'water carrier', often plays others into trouble, whilst not making himself available when it seems the smart/easy thing to do. And spectacularly failed to get near the form of the last year. So I've written my opinion on here, not to sound interesting, but in replay to a thread about who we should sell, and why. I never said anything about premiership, and FWIW, I always saw the value in Telfer and Oakley (even when others labelled him 'the mistress'). The trouble is I do Remember Huddersfield at home, and how far apart from that, in terms of form and time it is from the present. Also FWIW, I do not believe you are his Bum Chum as others have insinuated.

Different views from different fans and all that. Apart from his (deflected) first goal of the season, if you can come up with examples of Hammond playing out of his skin, or Rallying the team when they have been under-performing under AP or NA, I'll happily concede. I was still keeping an open mind until the shrews match, when out of a **** poor bunch, he and Guly made the least impact. For me, his form only gone backwards since he's been here.

Hammond is a joke of a captain, doesn't lead by word or by deed. He has been almost ever present, and almost always average or worse.

Pulis Forecast Gobern (loan) Mills (loan) Wotton Hammond

Probably because we have a right to protest and free speech (up to a point), and British soldier isn't a religion. Don't agree with their message, but until they break a law, agree with their right to do it.

Sounds painful! Where exactly was he storing them? Must be a big lad.
-
Why are any of you in Nando's? ****ty chain food at it's worst. You might as well go somewhere decent to eat, or drop the pretence and head to KFC. FFS.
-
He was the best midfielder at the club when fit, no doubt. But he was always be back in the treatment room all too soon.
-
Quite agree, looks like a Leeds chip girl more than anything. I expect (hope) all comments to the contrary have been wind ups so far.
-
Not to lessen your dilemma, but it sounds that partially at least, you've already mentally checked out. Instead of just turning down the job, you're looking to an internet forum for validation of what a wonderful opportunity this is, and how you can't possibly miss out. Given that it's obvious your partner will not make the move whatever the conditions, its seems you already know the path you have to choose, harsh as it may seem.
-
Without doubt, when firt he's the clubs best striker. The likelihood for requiring almost immediate treatment is better than average though.
-
Poacher turned Gamekeeper. A really corrupt Gamekeeper.

Thanks Nigel!

Are the Beeb showing highlights tonight?
-
Would love to have Morgan and Chaplow as our midfield pair, just don't rate Hammond at all, especially not as a leader of men. When Saints fire on all cylinders, our captain is noticeably the least effective member of a good team.

All we need is someone on the thread to state that 'the game is the game' and we would would be fully channelling empty delusional bull**** philosophising applied to material goods akin to the hoppers and 'soldiers' of the wire. Clothes are clothes. You don't need to spend hundreds of pounds on a brand associated with hooligansim to look 'good' and there's even less need for a thread where people engage in the posturing surrounding them. FWIW, I don't wear a scarf or replica shirt either.

I beleiev that on some levels, all known religions have a controlling aspect to them. But to follow a cult that sprung up during the last century is just straight up, country music, special Olympics ghey. If you have documentation of a man who was a science fiction writer saying that to get rich you should make up a religion, who then made up a religion, it's beyond retarded. I would imagine that anybody who joins up has serious problems already.
