http://www.bbc.co.uk/iplayer/episode/b01096md/Late_Kick_Off_South_South_West_and_West_2011_Episode_12/ Bit of Coverage on the promotion race, and how both Rosenior and Murty think that we are ‘nailed on’ for promotion, also talk about our 'magnificent support' (TM Nigel Adkins). Always good to here from Leroy, who I thought was unjustly criticised on here post FLS Saturday, as he's always had a good word to say about us this season, as opposed to 'Human League Hair' Claridge who tends to mumble and navel gaze when saints are mentioned!

Deppo, you won't get anywhere with this one, purely because it's not the beeb that is at the heart of this - It's the unions. Back in the 1960's several camera crews reporting on the still burgeoning live broadcast equipment had been involved in several incidents where untrained news teams had received electrical shocks owing to the levels of moisture at Portsmouth docks. Therefore, Portsmouth crews involved in their local union called for an immediate stop to all news teams reporting from the docks. To ensure that news stories would not be disrupted by this action, Southern Television (as it was known then) and The BBC both agreed to bring in non-union camera operators and reporters from the newly formed Southampton Communications and United Media company. This outraged the Portsmouth workers, many of whom lost their jobs and found it difficult to find work for years to come. This air of hostility spilled over in to the regions local football teams, when the 'imported' crews from Southampton being barracked (and in some cases physically struck) by Portsmouth Home fans who labelled them as SCUM Men. When reported in the local paper, either due to a misheard account or misprint, this was written as ‘Scummer’ a pejorative which stands to this day. This action is still a point of contention in the modern media, shown especially at the sports desk, with only large coverage of Southampton issues being of a negative frame. Even meridian, based in the time as Southampton, were sure to favour Portsmouth (the City and football club) to show they had not forgotten, whilst union members at the BBC ensure that any football highlights are short compared to whatever position the ‘Saints’ hold, and if they do feature a match involving Southampton, the opposition team is mentioned heavily, with little discussion surrounding the Saints. Hope that helps Deppo. Good Luck anyway!

Much better quality than most fan vids, well done! Love the 'Oh **** off' after Barnard yellow card, reminds me of father ted sheep competition spent the morning in sunny Greenwich on the hill, didn't go to the match, but won 150 tahnks to BALLYBRAGA or whatever its name is . Up to second, great stuff all round 1740 onwards.... http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=fFqNkIzA_2I

Cutting through the hand-holding, it's clear that some people just don't like Cortese. It doesn't matter that he convinced Marcus to buy (and save) the club, for some he is just a 'rat faced foreigner', and always will be. Some people dislike him for the ticket tax, some people don't like it because they used to get their Tummy tickled by Wilde when they were on the board of fans that got Wilde's shares proxied to them, legitimising their stance on how things should be run ( until he disagreed and took them back, lol). Some don't like him for the so-called 'Ticket Tax' (Crime of the century!!!!111111one). And some don't like the way he closed the book the job's for the boys (Lawrie mac), jobs for the girls (Mary Corbett), and Job's for the Club historians (*winky thing here*) So you read a lot of crap, such as: - Cortese Banned Nick Illingsworth FROM THE STADIUM OMG! (A lie) - Cortese Banned the Squad from an official 'Ex Saints' event (Another lie - He didn't, and It wasn't) - Cortese has only as important as a bog cleaner to the club, and he bought a club on the verge of destruction and has invested in plans to build training facilities purely to make money, with no concern for the team or fans (I don't know where to start). These claims are made repeatedly in the hope that they will become 'fact', by repetition, much like 'Lowe only gave Redknapp 90k to spend' or 'Clive Woodward sent us down' so the next thing is "I can't believe any real fans would sing for a chairmen. Not us proper saints fans at any rate", in an effort to put people off. Of course, some actually advocate this regardless, which is ludicrous within itself, and reminds me of 'What have the romans ever done for us'. It's 'cringe worthy' to sing about Cortese? Would we have won the JPT, would we be in second now, would we even have a club? But no, you're right, let your sensibilities only allow you to repeat "Sit down, if you love Pompey" 500 times a match. -
Winning at a canter is never a bad thing! And it shows the depth of the squad that 2 goal JQ couldn't get on the pitch tonight! Dickson sounded like a model pro post match regarding team selection, no wonder Puncheon was drummed out for refusing to Play. Reading did us a massive favour by all but killing the skates play off hopes. Oh and Solent read out my text about having the smell of goals and Minted lamb in our nostrils (form a queue for autographs). All in all, good result and a great night. Carry on Nigel and Cortese!

3-2 Saints. At least one overdue pen for us.

Can anybody else only get half an hour, as opposed to the full hour on this? http://www.bbc.co.uk/iplayer/episode/p00fmt7m/BBC_Radio_Solent_Sport_The_reaction_02_04_2011/ Oh, and what was the half time entertainment yesterday?

Zimbabwe is landlocked, good luck getting permission to use other countries airspace! But, you're right - Just because we can't/won't tackle Mugabe, means we shouldn't tackle anyone. Let the slaughter continue!

I honestly can't believe some of the anti-interventionist rhetoric written on here and seen in public polls. History has shown that policies of isolationism only result in a country turning inward, being unable to affect positive change anywhere in the world outside their territory, and suffering as a society. Not to mention that it's just, legal, and in the hope of toppling a dictator and bringing democracy, but that hasn't seemed to convince the 'I'm alright jack crowd'.

Or "Should've used a condom".

Mark Hughes His first name is Leslie He played for Barcelona, Bayern Munich, Manchester United and Chelsea. He Won 14 major cups and League titles in his playing career. He was a useless budgie for us and somehow started every game.

http://www.bbc.co.uk/news/uk-politics-12725838 You're right! But I'm guessing he would just trot out the line that 'nothing has been decided yet' again and again. The only thing I agreed with was that the BBC '"should not be in a race to the bottom". I'm sure BBC 3 was set up as a channel dedicated to weaning off Morons from the main BBC channels, but has failed with BBC1 now just as bad. Much like How the Bowling/Cinema comlex in Eastleigh hasn't reduced the number of Chavs in Southampton by any great number.
