  1. Not sure on the VAT front, but the rest I agree with. If Lallana wants to walk after signing a 5 year contract, he should have the balls to request a transfer and forgo his 'loyalty' bonus. That's the least he could do. I have no information from any source on this yet btw. But this is how it looks from the inside Apropos of nothing, how many assists did Lallana get in the last 18 games of the season?
  2. Another great day for Lambert, who has a warmth and amiability about him that is unmatched in 99% of other players. It's no surprise that the Beeb world cup page http://www.bbc.co.uk/sport/0/football/27362447 has comments wishing him well at number 1+2 top rated. It's worth noting that yesterday he scored his 106th goal for Southampton, beating out the 105 goals he had scored for all other clubs before coming to saints (stats from his wiki). As inspirational as it is impressive!
  3. Rodriguez Sims Rodriguez Lambert Lallana v Hull Lallana
  4. Hart Foster Forster Clyne Johnson Shaw Baines Cahill Jagielka Jones Dawson Gerrard Cork Lallana Sterling Henderson Milner Chamberlain Carrick/Barkley Lambert Welbeck Rooney Sturridge No doubt Cleverly will make the squad somehow. I would be interested to see if Wellbeck and Lambert could build on their Montenegro partnership in the warm up games.

  6. The merits of any deal depend on the replacement in his position. Seamus Coleman cost 60k, while Michael Ball cost rangers nearly seven million pounds.
  7. Trousers, i can't say i know about adding funds from sales to the existing transfer budget, but when it's 'safe' to post, i will. I can't speak for KBSS, despite us being friends (spoiler: not our real names), but the info i receive is not on a request basis. As Cardiff have recently shown, releasing information to anyone can have a real world impact on peoples livelihoods. The information i have now is relatively well known at the club, so most cannot be traced to a single source, which is good. The VMAN may be right though, if certain players cannot be talked round, then we may see some regrettable departures. I don't know who he talks to, but again, the end of season breeds this sort of open discussion within the upper echelons of the club. I can tell you that KL is completely in love with the club, and here for the long haul, despite what some allege. And Gaston is also very happy. But besides that, frowning and happy faces may be the limit of of indication i can give soon! Oh, and just for the record Glasgow Saint is the worst Troll Bull****ter of all time. I know KBSS has a laundry list of everything he has wrong about the club (which is basically GS's posting history), and if his contact ever retires, you may get to see it!
  8. This is the important part. Of course, if they protest enough, 'we' might not want them. But the fact remains, we have a transfer budget without player sales.
  9. Well we have around 35 million pounds to spend in the summer, none of our players want to be sold and we will do all we can to keep them. Oh and Gaston doesn't want to leave either, he is actually happy here. But his agent wouldn't mind a payday! Given all these facts, I'm 70% confident Pochettino will stay.
  10. http://www.bbc.co.uk/sport/0/football/18833190 13 July 2012 The FAW have confirmed Rangel is not eligible under an agreement the four home nations have lodged with Fifa. Other than birthplace, parents or grandparents players can only represent one of the home nations if they have had five years of continuous education up to the age of 18 in that country. That ruling, introduced by Fifa in 2009, has led to England-born Crystal Palace midfielder Andy Dorman winning three caps for Wales.
  11. Do any other Saints fans feel that it would be a nice touch for Lallana to give up the Captaincy for the WBA game, to recognise his achievements on and off the field?
  12. Good luck Rickie, Let's hope you can distract from Tyldesley and Townsend!

  14. I understand getting behind a player, but I think the only people who would suggest spending 12-15 mil on a player after watching him score (and miss) a few in League one, Carling cup and Paint pot trophy at present would be smoking crack!
  15. Merely an indication that we are at an adanced stage of negoiations with the player - I try and reserve full judgement on whether he is the right stuff until he has played!
  16. K Billy is back from his Holiday, and on here more often than I, so you may have news soon! Apart from the names already mentioned on here, and by Pochettino, I have had no word of any 'under the radar' moves. But what we have so far isn't bad, is it?
  17. Late to the party, but

    Triple snub?

Not a cover up per se, just the clubs ethos of condcuting business privately (as we all know). It also wasn't an indication that the VW move is off, just a reminder of how we have dealt with such situations in the (fairly) recent past!

    Triple snub?

To a certain degree, the club concurs. Not so many years ago, a certain Neil Danns came to town as a guest of the club, to discuss a move. Every measure to make him feel as welcome and valued as possible was enacted, every courtesy was extended. We made a very competitive (even now) wage offer, and Mr Danns laughed and demanded we double it. All of those concerned in his potential acquisition agreed that in regards to the young man and his agent, **** 'em. His sole topic of discussion was money, with not even pretence of interest in the ambitions or infrastructure of the club. Obviously at a higher level, with a greater calibre of player, you have to work harder to entice your targets, and be less rigid in your approach. But if a player sets off too many red lights (or their representatives (VW)), the decision will ultimately be the same. And a good thing too.
  20. In that case it would be 'Hanged' . Lol at people who suggest any chump could come in and equal the achievements of Cortese. Also lol at those who dismiss those who respond to positive 'reports' as mindless clappers, then sieze upon unconfirmed tweets as 'proof'. FWIW, I'm in the boring 'Wait and see' camp. The truth will out sonner than later, whatever it may be. I hope Cortese stays, and that whatever happens, our preparations for next season are not hindered!
  21. Said before the season started, that I would be very happy with 17th, and as it stands we look like we will better that! Most important thing was not to drop down, now we can further establish ourselves with the financial security the new Premier League deal brings. Onwards and upwards, well done Saints!
