I believe its a matter of competition for players and the resultant skyrocketing fees, but that would be supposition on my part.
-
Well there is nothing likely to happen today so, there's no waste!
-
I can't speak for monk, but I have been asked to keep it to smileys this week, as we have some 'sensitive' transfers planned (that's incoming, btw).
-
It will look better with 4-5 more signings! Though one of our CB targets, as i have said from the start, may be beyond us and we will have to re-align our efforts.

I think it will be a very good week for Southampton FC and it's fans. Despite what Beattie has to say!

A very special smiley today...

It's a in face form.

Apart from smilies, no news all week! I will post again in full this sunday. I asked people to give the board a week, anything I post before then will be meaningless.

Three quotes and three names - I think we all know who they are appropriate for! “Does progress mean that we dissolve our ancient myths? If we forget our legends, I fear that we shall close an important door to the imagination” "Smooth runs the water where the brook is deep; And in his simple show, he harbours treason." "Though those that are betray'd Do feel the treason sharply, yet the traitor Stands in worse case of woe."

Okay, Let's go point by point. I do have an agenda, as much as this is my own personal viewpoint. No one has given me instruction or a mandate to post this. Everton have finished just outside the top four, have improved remarkably under Martinez, and were arguably more the critics favourite than towards the end of the season. Oh, and already had players on loan from Barcelona when they wanted, which is something we didn't manage, even when living the dream. Playing time in European competition is a draw we cannot currently offer, and Everton can. Everton don't appear to losing their crown jewels because they have to lose them by necessity anyway loans and short term deals have to be renewed or replaced, and as i said, they can offer tangible improvement with EL, rather than just a high finish. Incompetent people would not be able to reject bids or hold out for favourable terms. True, we have sold players to bigger clubs who can offer more money, fame, and a higher level of competition, but we have done so at a premium. We now have funds in place to improve upon those players. If Mopo/Cortese was here, if we had kept all of our players, and our finish had been the same, what do you think would have happened with Tadic? Speculation i know, but I'm pretty sure he would have gone to the place that Lukaku and Deulofeu have shone in the past few seasons, and played in Europe! The only squad that has strengthened below us is arguably West Ham, and the relegation/mid table section of the EPL stank last season. Academic anyway, as we are strengthening! It will come good, my friend. Give the club a week. If it still looks as bad then, come back and call me a blind fool.

NO. It is in the balance. And he would prefer Germany over England, if any club there could afford him....

A lot in the press and on this very board over the last few days, about the 'proof' of the inability of the new board and management to carry out 'the dream'. I, for one, have to humbly disagree. Who are we potentially these players to? West Ham, Newcastle, Aston Villa? No! The only clubs that are threatening to diminish our current squad (which we are trying to reinforce btw), are those that were one of only seven to finish above us last season. We had several crown jewels that outshone the lesser lights of those other squads, and now they have tempted them with lucre in the case of Adam/Liverpool, Rebuild a great club/Lucre in the case of Shaw, or Life long loyalty in the case of Rickie. The team has no mass exodus, just a few players who want in on the cash train offered by teams above us. So we will have to replace and improve on them, as Morgan says. The team we are left with, even on its own would finish mid table, with, Boruc, clyne, Fonte, Yoshi, Chambers, Morgan, Big Vic, Cork, Davis, J-Rod, and Ward-Prowse making a highly competitive first eleven. But that will not be the first eleven! It is true that Tadic and Pelle were supposed to be wrapped up by the end of last week, and it seems as if Tadic may join Everton now (another club who are bigger than us. I swear some of our fellow fans think that our eighth place finish put us in the champions league spots). This was, no doubt, the reason for the delays from his agent. Starting now, the undisclosed fee policy (Post-Pelle) will be twinned with the transfer committee becoming the penetralia of the club. For my part, I will restrict myself to smilies hours before a transfer is complete/

Tadic is still dragging on, Pelle should be sealed by Tuesday. None have flown over yet! Heard we're in for a Scottish left back, though not necessarily Robertson. Still don't think we'll be getting our CB target. And as for the Degree thing, I *did* make it clear i was joking!

I don't know, an earnt first, a promise of preparing some fit freshers for 'uni life' all over the summer, and a trip to see one of the wonders of the world would be better. But a second rate degree and a striped shirt are neat too:thumbup: I'm kidding by the way. Well done.

Hello all, I've been trying to get a clear update on this, as the plan was to have tadic sign first for around €10 million, but for some reason unknown to me as yet it's slowed right down. Now it looks like Pelle will come first. I will post what i can as soon as i find out why! Oh, and K.Billy has mentioned the name of the GK, will verify with my source and KB as whether I can post or not.
-
He did say that to the press yesterday. But recent events should tell you all about saying one thing in public....and other things elsewhere. The club is confident of sealing it in the next two days.
-
I heard today or tomorrow morning, but I don't think he's even had a medical yet. So perhaps a little later.

I for one, agree. Everyone has had their say and judged on what they have seen and heard. Let's just put this to bed and hope for a new signing today or early tomorrow! :p:p:p -

We are hoping to be able to announce it by tomorrow evening, 10 million (still trying to find out if that is € or £). I think Wednesday is more likely though. As I said before, one of the only feesthat won't be undiclosed!
