Those stats on Ings' conversion rate are wrong surely! If he was so ruthless in front of goal, why would Garth Crooks say this "...if, as some are suggesting, he has the potential to move to a bigger club, he needs to improve his chances-to-goals ratio." Its almost as if he tries to be wrong

Do Saints improve players better than other teams?
Pilsmer replied to Cumbria Saint's topic in The Saints
Arsenal certainly haven't developed Oxlade-Chamberlain. -
and it was always Ju-an-mi always, and forever. lah lah lah, lah lah. 'repeat' You just need to add a 'you'. "And it's always you Juanmi always, and forever"

A vast majority of Shearer's career (and goals) came after his acl injury. Personally I think J Rod will still be here after January and I hope he can reach the same level he reached last season. For those people questioning whether he'd get into our team or suggesting we sell him in order to buy someone else, I think you're mad. All of the players that Ronald inherited have improved this season and I think J-Rod especially could flourish under the new system. We may be doing better than any of us could have imagined but we'll be better still if Koeman has a fully fit Rodriguez at his disposal.

I'd play Stephen Davis. I think he brings a lot to the team.

Thanks Trousers. My work fiirewall is pretty strict (apart from allowing me on here) but I will upload a photo or two later.

The first time I have seen Saints this season. Some of the link up play going forward - right up until the 90th minute - was just brilliant. We broke quickly with purpose. Some of the Arsenal dilly-dallying around our box reminded me a bit of Saints last season when we would have a lot of the ball but not enough cutting edge. A friend of mine got us tickets in the Club Arsenal area so had to keep quiet. One good thing was that we were on the tier above the Saints fans and it was safe to say the 5,000 did the club proud. I've got a couple of photos of the post match celebrations, capturing the whole away end, but I don't know how to post them online. I have my ticket for White Hart Lane. I'm looking forward to being able to sing and celebrate with the rest of you. Oo-oh, oo-oh, Dusan Tadic!

I can't wait for this. I'll be in front of the telly with my 6 week old boy, beginning the process of turning him into a Saints fan. Ever the optimist, I think we'll get something here. I'm a bit worried about our defence but hopefully Koeman has been working with them a lot and using his vast experience to make them more solid. Right up until kick off I will be daydreaming of Lovren giving away a penalty and getting sent off. Pelle scoring from the spot and then getting a second late on.

I just got sent this from a friend. I don't know if it has been posted anywhere but I thought it was pretty funny. AAA GAA DO DO DO, shove your Lovren up your arse, AA GA DO DO DO, Rickie Lambert you were class, Clattenburg, you were right that Lallana is a ****e, WE ARE RED, WE ARE WHITE, WE ARE F***ING DYNAMITE!

9th I think we'll get a few more players in. I also think that Koeman will prove himself an excellent manager and that one or two of the academy products will step up.

Welcome Ryan. Regardless of the circumstance in which you've arrived, you are now a Saint. Good luck.

I'm not to sure about the words but 'Da Do Ron Ron' may be a good tune. Mauricio Pochettino we don't like you much, Da do Ron Ron Ron, da do Ron Ron. With Ronald and his brother we've gone double Dutch, Da do Ron Ron Ron, da do Ron Ron. Yeah we're the boys in red, Just like the hair on Ronald's head, And if you ask who loves the Saints, We do Ron Ron Ron, We do Ron Ron.

Damn you! I'm still waiting for 'Re-arrange the deckchairs on the Titanic' and 'One swallow does not a summer make.'
-
Good luck Rickie. You are realising your dream and I can't think of anyone more deserving. Please spare a thought for us fans who you've left behind because we're embarking on what is potentially a very tough time. Also, please forgive me a rye smile if you miss your first penalty in Liverpool colours.

I don't think its disespectful to the club. We're supposed to be a family club. I'm not sure exactly what this means but I'm sure one the criteria is that it welcomes its fans and their families - even those of split loyalty - to be able to come and enjoy a match together. If an away fan or a group of them intentionally infiltrate a home stand with the purpose of antagonising the home fans and causing trouble that's one thing, a primary school child openly supporting his team in a family stand is completely different. Also, you are making a huge assumption that a Newcstle fan will bring a jacket.

Match by match, this season has not thrown up many surprises. Whenever we have come up against a big team, I have hoped that we would turn them over but despite playing consistently well all season, we have failed to really get that big result. Don't get me wrong, Liverpool away was a great result but I would have liked one or two more, even if we had lost a couple of the easier games we were expected to win. Hopefully we can get a couple of big results in the last 8 games. Tottenham and Man Utd please.

My generally positive attitude at the moment is based on the thinking that we're at least going to spend enough to consolidate our current position. I would start agreeing with some of the more negative views on here if these season turns out to be a single high point.

This is based on the assumption that the club receives no benefit from its acquistions beyond the end of this season. The truth is that Lovren will continue to more than justify the £7m we spent on him for years to come and if he leaves, will return a profit. Wanyama will also improve whilst we will hopefully recoup most, if not all, of the Osvaldo fee. Of course we are likely to spend another huge chunk of money again this summer but that is the way of it - the club needs to invest heavily to stand still. It's far too much of a simplistic view to measure outlay against league position. The club is also trying to minimise this acquisition cost through the academy. As for the disappointment of this season, people realistically cited a top half finish as a good acheivement back in August and I don't think anything has changed. The FA Cup was extremely disappointing but what I think Poch did was follow what will be a long term policy of rotating the team for the cup to spread the burden of the season across the squad available. At this time there is no burden but following the policy highlights the fact that we are currently too weak as a squad to battle on more than from front. As our squad improves in quality and depth (which I honestly believe it will) then the same policy of rotation will see us capable of competing on several fronts and hopefully win the coveted silverware without overstretching the squad we have and therefore jeopardising our league standing.

To the tune of Sexual Healing. Baby, he's hot just like an oven, Its Dejan Lovren.

Are you sure you're not looking at the photos? ;o)

I live at Liam Brady and work at Paolo Maldini. Saints are quite well represented on the Goalkeeper Line.
