  1. I always fancied supporting Stoke, now that fantasy has become reality.
  2. I agree and disagree with him - there are times where the 3D really helps the action pop out of the screen, and other times it feels a bit forced and pointless. There are some stunning shots where the 3D helps to give more depth (both long shots of a landscape with people in the foreground and distance) so I would say it's worth it. Definitely worth a watch in Imax though, got to get the big screen to fit more mayhem into it! I've seen quite a few people on Twitter and message boards saying that they were really looking forward to the film but are now not going to see it because it's "too feminist". I wonder how our species has got this far sometimes..
  3. http://time.com/3850323/mad-max-fury-road-eve-ensler-feminist/?xid=tcoshare They got the woman who wrote the Vagina Monologues in as a consultant on the film. Think we could be in trouble here boys, it's all set for an uprising...
  4. I bought tickets to 2 different showings of Mad Max: Fury Road today by mistake - best mistake I ever made. Just back from the 3pm showing and going again at 9pm! As for the film....f*cking spectacular. That's all I can say.
  5. I'm trying to work out if you're madder than Art, if he's madder than you or if you're both just the same person. Hmmm...
  6. Sums up my feelings almost perfectly, preach brutha!
  7. I don't think he's a Saints fan, is he? Showed he can score goals at this level though and I think he'd fit our game better than Hernandez or Ings would. Worth a gamble for £10m, you don't tend to get many strikers at this level with a record like his.
  8. I don't appreciate those sarky quotation marks, i've earned this title. As for Bar Kohl, i've not been but they re-opened it recently under a new name. Was closed for a little bit I think. Would be interesting to see the politics of such a re-organisation - the North is ostensibly more left-wing than the South so that would change a lot. What would the new country be called though? Mancunia? Scouseton?
  9. Just for a quick change of subject... What are your thoughts on this Pap (and any other Northern Saints)? Fancy joining the lefty nation? http://www.scotsman.com/news/odd/5-000-call-for-north-of-england-to-join-scotland-1-3770449
  10. Who's this Oyland fella?
  11. Umunna will get it for Labour - they'll try to get somebody vaguely electable and ministerial in now after Miliband. Personally i'd prefer to see Burnham as their leader but I don't think he's cut out for the world stage. Don't really know much about the Lib Dem candidates but Tim Farron will probably get it because he seems keen to rebuild and remodel which is needed now after the coalition.
  12. That is f*cking sublime, hats off to the club! Looking forward to seeing the new kit on Friday as well.
  13. One person has said they "don't have a problem" with it - not exactly overwhelming is it? All lefties must support the desecration of war memorials if it's against the Tories though, because one person said they did. So does that mean that all UKIP voters want to deport "every last muslim" out of the country like one Tweet I saw from a supporter of theirs during the debates? "Rabid lefties" is such a crass generalisation that really means nothing at all. If it makes you feel better about yourself though, carry on using it.
  14. I'd suggest you read your post back, you may realise how pathetic you come across sometimes.
  15. Ok, so that's 1 out of 60,000,000. Brb, just going to conduct a quick survey.
  16. Nobody has condoned that incident, stop trying to suggest that.
  17. No point Lou, there's far too much punctuation in that sentence for a right-winger like Jeff to comprehend. Us lefties have to accommodate those of a lesser disposition.
  18. I'm genuinely worried about finishing 8th - after the first half of the season we had it'd be such a kick in the balls not to have a shot at Europe (and realistically our only shot now is for Arsenal to win the cup, unless we win our last 2 games and Spurs don't). Kudos to Swansea though, I wasn't sure Monk would be up to much as a manager but he's shown some real nous and has produced results without compromising on how they play. Yeah they've shut up shop and sat deep against a few teams and got results that way but they've also completely destroyed other teams with their passing game too. With proper additions in the summer they could be a real force next season with our own Jack Cork making their midfield tick.
  19. Seems similar on further reading but it looks as if they're going a bit more hardline with it, although we won't know the full details until it's officially announced tomorrow.
  20. Hopefully both, depending on the efficacy of the legislation.
  21. A quote from the article: So basically this "Google tax" is all fart and no sh!t. At least they acknowledge the problem though, eh?
  22. I doubt we'll see a similar thing happen over here but it goes to show that it CAN be done. Those with influence just refuse to do it and make the plebs pay the price instead..
  23. First of all, it's been scientifically proven that every time somebody writes "leftie" on a forum they lose an IQ point so you may want to watch yourself. You're veering dangerously close to BadBoySaint levels. Secondly, the bit in bold is a ludicrous statement - who says that spending extra on public services would bankrupt the country? The idea is that you only spend what you can afford which is something that Labour failed to heed and is partially the reason why we're in the situation we're in now as a country. As long as any extra spending on top of operational costs is funded by tax revenues there's no problem. Also I would argue that the state should be bigger - after all it is the f*cking state. I feel inherently uncomfortable with the notion of the private sector picking up the slack on services that would traditionally be provided by the state. Means testing for welfare, running hospitals and prisons... I don't think those kind of things should be trusted to organisations that only have a loyalty to deliver profit to their shareholders. I think you and I have really fundamental differences on this but I fail to see why you're so against the notion of "the state".
