The Official Unofficial Glastonbury 2014 thread.
SuperMikey replied to swannymere's topic in The Arts
I saw that on Twitter earlier on, could be very interesting indeed! Doesn't Noely Noely have a dislike of Glastonbury though? I did catch some of Beady Eye's "surprise" set opening The Other Stage last year though, and they were utter gash. We all know that Noel is the heart and soul of Oasis though, so it could be a good'un! -
I saw them at Reading in '10, but there wouldn't be as much of a novelty factor this time around if they were to get back together again. Hasn't Carl just started a new band as well though?

I love social media fails, this goes down with British Gas's Twitter Q&A hours after they hiked their prices by 10%, and also Harry "face like a ballsack" Redknapp's hijacked Q&A too. There's just something hilarious about the good intentions they started out with in terms of connecting with the man on the street, only to have the internet version of liquid sh!t hurled back in their faces. Absolute gold. Oh yeah, and to add to the topic - here's another photo.

I think Man Utd have done the wrong thing - they should have given him more time. Fergie picked Moyes in the first place because he was the best candidate for a long-term successor. "Long-term". They've been pretty crap this season, no doubt, but the squad he got left with was pretty crap in the first place - they only managed to win the title last time out because of RVP (who's been injured most of the season lest we forget). Will be interesting to see who they get in to replace him, but I would've given him until January to get back into the Top 4 if it was my decision.

Is it a bit odd that I have these exact same annoyances but with my housemate rather than a partner? I think we might be a bit too close..

DM: Mauricio Pochettino has failed this season

I wonder if there will still be threads about the Sunderand game in 80 years time when we're playing in the Intergalactic Champions' League against those dirty c*nts from Neptune. -
Either way I was going to be paying more next season because I no longer qualify for a Young Adult ST, but the thought of paying nearly £700 (with the admin fee) for the same seat I paid £550 (with the admin fee) for this season does turn my stomach a little bit. But like others have said, we're going to pay it anyway so why bother moaning? Just sit back and try to relax as you get f*cked by a big Capitalist fist.

BBC - Trojan Horse: 25 schools probed over alleged takeover plot
SuperMikey replied to holepuncture's topic in The Lounge
What is this rubbish? Well-informed analysis of a situation that is subject to a lot of idle speculation and falsification in the media mostly by idiotic pundits? This can't be true! Tower Hamlets is positively swarming with radical Muslamic groups that want to take over our schools! THEY WANT OUR KIDS FFS!!! -
Tbf he's not on much less than that - apparently about 50k with bonuses. Source: Some article I read once or something

Spent some of my evening perusing various Glastonbury sites, amd I thought I would share this little nugget with you guys from an eFestivals thread about bizarre Glastonbury moments:  -
PS: I watched The Raid 2 today, and it is very very good. Can't wait for The Raid 3 - set 3 hours before the end of The Raid 2....hmmmmm. Like the fact that all the films are being strung together. Plus for a film that's set 2 hours after the original one ended, they do a f*cking quick job of tying up loose plot ends from the first film and setting up the plot for the rest of the film - takes about 20 minutes in total which leaves just over 2hrs of absolute carnage after that. Great stuff.
-
I also saw this film, and I thought it was good. I liked the fact that Bateman didn't try and nonce Slumdog either, which is generally what films involving cross-generational relationships do nowadays.

All these new buildings 'going up' in Southampton...

I would be Bearsy so I could take ladies to a Travel Lodge without feeling ashamed at my lack of class.

Nope, closer to London Rd. -
Excellent article that raises some good questions - is it maybe time to impose a 'foreign national' limit on Premier League teams? Players and pundits have been calling for it for a while, and it would mean that teams might actually be tempted to put some money into their academy setups rather than just spunking £30m on one player from abroad.

We're even attracting WUMs from other continents on here now - jesus f*cking christ.

Have to get my tickets tomorrow - managed to do 8 away games this season so only 1 short of being able to get them early doors today! Never mind.

Pretty much - he's a good shot stopper but he's so incredibly slow and his distribution is pretty poor too. Only gets the hype because he's English and not playing in the English leagues, I believe that's known as Owen Hargreaves Syndrome. Personally I would look to see how much Wigan want for Al-Habsi, proven to be a very solid keeper at this level and would be pretty cheap. Wigan don't want him as they have Carson and a kid called Nicholls who will be pretty decent too. Would definitely rival Boruc for his starting spot, and he's a huge star in the East so would fit in nicely with that plan to increase revenue! https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=53ezvpIx3s4

Wait, so Peaches didn't do her ACL in then? B*llocks, knew I shouldn't have trusted Yahoo! news.
