True, but regardless of the size of the club or their support, they are still a L2 team. I couldn't see any club above Conference level appointing a female boss anytime soon here, so it's still a pretty big deal!

http://www.bbc.co.uk/sport/0/football/27306106 Very interesting - if she's successful could this pave the way for more women to coach men's teams?

To be fair, you're right. Space exploration.

Some of the stuff on that group is completely beyond belief. I really do despair.

I have to say, I haven't picked up a copy of NME for years and years, I just can't get over their incessant bum-licking of some artists. Have liked those pages, but I guess i'll just do some more artist-surfing on Spotify which is how i've been going the last couple of years. My little brother is 16 and is asking me about bands that i've never heard of who are apparently quite popular - I used to give him his cues on who he should be listening to I do actually have one artist recommendation - Chrome Sparks. Kind of like Bonobo crossed with The Chemical Brothers.
-
That's fair enough, I don't really know the channels to get into new stuff apart from Spotify and reading NME tbh - are there any blogs or sites that you would recommend? I'm starting to feel very behind the times..

I have to say I wasn't entirely convinced with the rumours about him leaving before, but his body language in that acceptance speech was really off...please stay Adam!

Haha it's nothing personal - but I feel very behind the curve in terms of what people are listening to now, especially when I see what you post up on here. I like most of it, but I barely know who any of these new bands f*cking are! I guess i've been stuck in an Arcade Fire rut for the last couple of years..

How astute of you to observe that every single person who has a say in running the judicial system is a "lefty". That must be what the issue is!

It's a tough decision between Osvaldo's vs City or Lallana's vs Hull - but I think i'm going to have to go with Lallana's. One of the reasons is I wasn't actually at SMS for the Man City game, and i've only seen it back on TV! Another reason for me to pick Lallana is that it illustrates what an incredible season he's had with us - last year people weren't sure if he was cut out for this level and he struggled with injuries, but he's proven them wrong for sure not just with those few seconds of genius, but with his consistent and strong performances this season. For Adz, i'm sure establishing himself in the England team, captaining the side he's been with since he was a nipper to their best ever Premier League finish and starting a family of his own is like an absolute dream. Who knows, it may even serve to keep him at the club into next season - although we'll have to pad our squad out with a few tea ladies and Ticket Office staff to make up the numbers

KRG will probably sneer at me for being late to the party, but i'm really loving these guys at the moment. Enjoying the late 80s/early 90s revival that's kicked off in the last couple of years.

Winchfield is in walking distance, which is one stop closer to Farnborough than Hook is! Stuff that up yer ar5es

If he's going to mention Farnborough Airport as an attraction for Basingstoke, i'm surprised he didn't also mention the glorious bus station round the back of Festival Place (now with 7 berths!) and the wide range of dirt weed you can buy from the kids in Eastrop.

Nothing abnormal about UKIP talking complete sh!te, all the other parties do it as well. Just annoying how people seem to think that UKIP are a viable option for Government when it's being proven day by day that their party is full of "fruitcakes, loonies and closet racists™". Haven't voted since the General Election but I think I will probably end up voting for the Greens this time out and probably again this time next year. Only things I really disagree with them on are their current policies on renewable and nuclear energy, but only because our current options in terms of renewables are pretty ineffective and nuclear is a decent stopgap while we develop renewable technologies. Of course, that's not going to have a huge amount of bearing on the MEP elections, but it's all about the principle..

I thought that as well...grew up a couple of miles from Basingstoke and I can't help but feel that the guy knew what he was doing when he took Basingstoke off the map!

Agree, a million times over. A definitive and historical kit of ours which stands out from the crowd - who really wants stripes when we'll just get compared to Stoke & Sunderland?!

That's just under £40k a week...not bad! But hey, he did do a hell of a lot of good work in getting us back up to where we are now - like a poster said above if NC had come in and guaranteed us an 8th place finish in the Prem when we were -10 in L1 I don't think anyone would have argued with a few years salary at £2m...

"F*ck you and f*ck this f*cking place." Words for the ages..

True, but the two players who are missing are absolutely key to how we play. I was tempted to chuck McQueen on the left to get a bit of that direct wing play that Jay brings, but I think that might be considered a very "deep end". I feel confident with Corky and Vic in the middle, although it's not got that fluidity and creativity that Morgan gives us there either. It's not that I think we'll lose without those two, but we definitely don't have the same attacking edge that we do with them in the side. We can definitely get a point by being a solid unit, but I just don't think we have enough up top in terms of a goal threat without Jay or Morgan to pull the strings from midfield. Completely disagree, Guly has actually put in some very good performances for us in the last two seasons. Thing is, Guly was a flair player in League One, but in the PL he's a battering ram. Spurs away last season was a real highlight for me, he played on the left in almost a diamond formation and was excellent at shutting down Bale on the wing. In fact, we looked very solid with him playing that wide role, offering support for the full back and keeping tight to his marker rather than wandering around the final third. I admit that he can be frustrating, but to suggest that he's not made any kind of impression at this level is wrong - he's just a different player now than he was in the lower leagues.

---------------BORUC---------------- CLYNE----FONTE----LOVREN----SHAW -----------CORK----BIG VIC---------- JWP-----------DAVIS--------LALLANA --------------LAMBERT--------------- Subs: Gazzaniga, Chambers, Hooiveld, Targett, Guly, McQueen, Gallagher Wouldn't feel confident about a win with that side, but stranger things have happened!
